It was a cold rainy day, plus I had a cold that was killing me. I stopped by and grabbed a bowl of the Coconut Chicken Lemongrass soup. The soup was fantastic, lots of flavor, a little spicy, was served in under a minute, and was a fair price. I will be going again as should you. Thanks Portland Soup Company for a genuine and quality meal!

Wow. The pork butt sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The flavors are genius and works very well together. Sweet pork, red cabbage, thin green apple slices, and soft bread. Amazing. The potato and sausage soup was also very flavorful and amazing. I’m in this area for a short time and have only 4 dinners and lunches here. I’m seriously considering having this same meal for every one of them!

This place is not only good but quick with your food order. I had the grilled cheese and it was super yummy and just the right amount of food. The cookies look thick and chunky but it turned out to be very tasty and so big I shared with two others.

An incredible food truck!!! very crowded area with lots of other food trucks. I got the grilled cheese with aged white cheddar on crusty bread with tomato soup. It was delicious, would definitely recommend this place! They had lots of other yummy options on their menu. Support local!!!

Good food a little hard to find but worth finding. Soup was great. Right downtown in the middle of it all.

This is more of a 3.5 review, but I know that most Portland businesses take Unilocal extremely seriously and my aim here isn’t to get anyone in trouble: I’m a big fan of the Portland Soup Company’s food. Their sandwiches are great and their soup is absolutely heavenly during the rainy months,(which seems like every month in good old portland) It just really seems that their customer service is really lacking. The rest of the carts on 4th are usually genuinely excited to see you and serve you, at this cart I don’t really get that vibe. I’m not asking for much just a much more happier interaction. I get that service workers(i’m one too!) have bad days but it isn’t that hard to be kind. Regardless, I’ll keep coming back because soup and a sandwich is totally my jam. PS: Why are the boxes for the sandwiches so small? They aren’t able to fully close the box, which is great!, but it makes for a really weird walk to home/work/school with an open container of food.

My favorite food cart by PSU! Amazing soups and sandwiches and salads that change pretty frequently. The pork sandwich is amazing!

Great soup! HUGE pork belly. Order the half sandwich if you don’t wanna end up finishing your food the next day.

Really great soups and unique sandwiches. Friendly service. I love the pork butt and turkey fig sandwiches. My wife swears by the creamy Mac n cheese. The servers always seem to know the customers names too. Great place.

Delicious pork butt sandwich. The pork melts in my mouth without needing to be saturated in sauce like some other pulled pork sandwiches. The sauce is a rich, creamy white sauce. It is big and very filling.

Generally, this place is delicious. I’ve enjoyed soups from this cart on many cold days working downtown, but my recent experience left me disappointed. I have gotten the madras chicken soup on more than one occasion and it was delicious and spicy and hot. Today my soup was served at a barely warm temperature. The rice was clumped together at the bottom of my container and it only contained one small, fat covered, piece of chicken. For $ 6 a bowl I would have expected higher quality. Without a decent amount of protein this soup left me wanting more.

So so so so so good. Probably one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in Portland. Ironically, I’ve never had soup here. But if it’s half as good as their sandwiches, they’re well worth the purchase. Sometimes there’s a line around lunchtime but it moves pretty quickly. (Great spot to hide from rain too.)

Tomato soup with amazing homemade croutons… it’s like having the crusts of toasted cheese already in your soup! I had the turkey breast with pickled pears & squash an amazing combo. The only thing I have to complain about… wish I had gone for the whole sandwich rather than just a half!

Wow! This place is incredible. Easily some of the best food I’ve had in Portland! I had the pork butt sandwich and tomato soup; my girlfriend the turkey breast sandwich and chicken soup. We were both blown away by the flavor and taste. My pork butt was tender and succulent, the apple slaw perfectly complimented the salty, succulent pork. The tomato soup was creamy and exploding with flavor; the homemade bread crumbs floating inside were icing on the cake! My girlfriend raved about her meal as well. I’ve lived within 10 minutes of this place for 3 years now and I had never tried it; I have a feeling I’m now going to be a regular.

Fast and friendly and oh yeah… Total awesome sauce!!! For my first meal in Oregon, I must say that I am impressed! The food was not only inventive, but fresh and savory! The grilled cheese was amazing and unforgettable, the chilled cucumber soup was refreshing and slurp-worthy enough that my toddler begged for more, the apple slaw on the pork sandwich was a crunchy-fresh surprise and we needed extra napkins because it was so juicy! No complaints! But if I had to, they run out of their best stuff before 2pm… Because it’s so delish!

Yum yum yum! I can never go wrong with the Portland Soup Company! Even though there is always a line, it’s worth the wait. They make the best tomato reggiano — and I don’t usually like tomato soups — so it’s a must try. My favorite sandwich to go with it is the turkey. Most would say grilled cheese goes best with tomato reggiano but I live to eat and like variety. To top off my meal I always get a chocolate chip almond cookie. Deeeeeeellliiiiiiccciiiooouuusssss!!! I would go here everyday for lunch if I could.

I’m a big fan of what these guys do. I’ve tried several of their soups and am always shocked by how much flavor complexity they have. All of these soups(whether meat or vegetarian) are flavored to perfection and will leave you satisfied. I would recommend sandwiches only as a companion to soup. I mean, the place is called Portland Soup Company(not sandwich). The sandwiches are fine, but the soup will melt your face off. If you’re going for lunch, get there on the early side of the lunch rush as the most popular soups do sell out.

Hands down the best tomato soup I’ve ever tasted. I wish I could have the roasted tomato and reggiano soup every day. The flavors were very complex for such a typically simple soup. It started off with a sweet flavor but then more spices and cayenne pepper came through, then curry powder(maybe?) and a creamy finish. The croutons inside were still crunchy throughout the entire time I was eating it and the butter in them cut through the soup so well. I also got the caprese sandwich and thought it was a great complement to the soup. The bread was very good. But, it got kind of messy towards the end. Great deal, though! I only paid around $ 6 for my meal and I even got Tim’s chips, which are the best.
