Purchased a pair of shoes and foot beds $ 280 some bucks-out the door. I only mention $ amount because I feel that’s a decent price to be paid for men’s shoes. I didn’t have a problem with it– I just wanted comfy shoes. The foot beds were 80 some dollars. The foot beds had a 3 month money back guarantee. After 3WEEKS. The foot beds began to de-laminate(literally falling apart in my shoe.) I took them back. My return trip of course was a chance for the super salesman to try and up sell me to the«correct ones.» Correct ones? Apparently I was not«fitted» correctly by the first associate that helped me. But If I upgraded to the«Grand daddy«of footbeds, the ones that cost 50 bucks or so more — I wouldn’t have any problems.(enter sarcasm) Gotta love the up sell. Gotta love feeling like a chump for spending 80 bucks on junk. To my surprise and not at all explained in the original sales pitch is that«money back» is really in-store credit. The selection sucks if your a mens 11.5… Most of the shoes are tremendously ugly and anyone under 70 would refer to them as old people shoes. Regardless, They only reason I complain about the selection is 1 year later I find myself with an 80 credit to this place… I must have stopped in 10 times in the past year and still cannot find anything to spend my credit on OR if I do– they don’t have my size. Go elsewhere. Not worth the headache. If your a buyer — the customer service is decent. If they already have your money– they suck. I GOTRIPPEDOFFANDTHEYDON’T CARE. 1YEARLATERAND I STILLHAVEIN-STORECREDITTHATISWORTHLESSTOME. Thanks Walking Company!

I needed some new walking shoes, and since I was in the mall, I thought I’d take a look at their selection. Excellent customer service. The sales person showed me several styles, exactly what I wanted, all within my price range. I ended up buying a pair of walking shoes, and then started looking at the sandals. When I selected a sandal to try on, he let me try it on without any comments yea, or nay. I walked around a bit, and found them a bit stiff. He then suggested a different brand. I tried those on… ah… comfort!!! Like walking on a cloud. Unfortunately they didn’t have my size in the color I wanted. But wait… I was able to special order them, and have them sent to my house with no shipping charge! Kudos for great service, knowledgable staff, and a great selection. I’ll be back the next time I need new walking shoes.

Sometimes I think it isn’t fair to knock a place for service, but this is one of those places where I just can’t get past it. Great products Nice selection Price — full retail and they don’t discount deeply or often Service… well, I’ve been to this store multiple times since I’m a fan of many of their products(Dansko, Sofft, Merrell). Thanksgiving week I had a really bad experience at the store. Sort of a used car salesman approach(a mix of guilt and intimidation). The hard sell. There was also some bait-and-switch telling me certain shoes were on sale when they weren’t and it took forever to ring up the sale price on the one shoe I decided to purchase. They even tried to sell add-ons(protective sprays). I’m telling you, déjà vu from bad car dealers in my past. I actually scored a great deal on shoes for my husband which is why I put up with it at the time. I also thought, hey the salesperson could be new or they are under severe pressure to make sales because of the economy. Cut them some slack. Anyway, when I recently returned the person is still there. And I think to myself, there is no way I’m giving this location my business. Sad, but true. This is a ‘nice’ place, so I think a higher level of service is expected. So, I may buy products on-line or at their other locations, but not here.
