This is a Portland landmark. The Johns Landing Water Tower building was constructed in 1903 and was originally the home of the Portland/Biltwell Furniture Co. The building served as a furniture manufacturing facility. John Gray purchased the building. Gray, along with architect John Storr’s lead the development of John’s Landing. John’s Landing is named after the B.P. John Furniture Co. which was the largest manufacturer in the neighborhood at the time. The building was remodeled and renovated in 2003. The renovation included skylights, original fir floors, exposed beams, a conference room with a sink and on-site shower facilities. Melvin Mark now manages the building and leases out office and retail space in the building. It is at nearly full capacity. If you are shopping here there is plenty of parking but the spaces are small. Cool building and a part of history. Check it out! 2015-138
