Bought a pair of Tellason jeans from The Woodlands. Who by the way exemplifies all things Portland. They’re owned by Tanner Goods; who by the way produce some quality leather stuff, and make the leather patch for Tellason jeans as well as all the other brands. They carry other quality products from other quality manufacturers like Danner boots. Who by the way is also made in Portland. Colton, who by the way is the manager, is a pretty cool dude and knowledgeable. I’m glad shops like this exist to replace Blake. Who by the way is gone. P. S. They offer hemming with the only Union Special sewing machine in Portland for $ 5!

Looking for some raw denim jeans? Looking for some pants that will arguably strangle your waist for a couple weeks until nearing a somewhat reasonable fit? Looking to truly enter the hipster community with the best pair of jeans you will ever own? Look no further. When I decided to take the plunge into raw denim, Woodlands is where I came. I had already perused their website and was heart-set on a specific pair of jeans. Luckily they had them in stock! With brands like 3sixteen, Rogue Territory, Tellason, they’ve got a decent selection. Almost a year and a half ago, I purchased a pair of 3sixteens and I’ve worn them nearly every day since. Just yesterday, I stopped in for a second pair(Rogue Territory, this time). What I love about this place is that they try very hard to get a close relationship going with their denim providers. Typically, they do this by supplying the denim makers with leather patches from Tanner Goods, made specifically for them. In return, Woodlands gets lines of raw denim jeans that nobody else does. I already knew exactly what I wanted(both times), but the staff was extremely helpful, very available, and suitably knowledgeable. I feel proud to have begun my esoteric journey into raw denim in this fine establishment.

The Woodlands and Tanner Goods are owned by the same Company. The Woodlands used to have their own storefront around the corner. That Outlet has closed, but you’ll find their goods within the Tanner Goods shop.
Great shop with great product. Staff at this retail store are both personable and brand savvy. Definitely worth checking out!

Great little shop with all things leather. Some of the coolest wallets out there these days and at a great price. They sell these cool old leatherhead footballs which my wife got me one for christmas, and it is awesome. It’s hard not to want to buy everything in here because it is so cool, well designed and functional. Sharp style and friendly staff make this business a unique portland based winner!

Cool spot. The guys that run this shop are truly passionate about their craft and are also super nice. I picked up a handmade wallet from Tanner Goods, as well as a lanyard and a collar for my dog.

This little shop absolutely nails the hipster Paul Bunyon aesthetic — timeless, well-made garments and goods accented by vintage camping gear. I am not a dude, but Woodlands makes me want to roll up the sleeves of my moth-eaten Pendleton, furrow my brow like a latter-day Luke Perry, and gaze pensively into my whiskey, neat.

This is the former Hecklewood, same designers, but cooler. Very well thought out and executed. It’s a shop for the creative set. This is a Man’s store. With all the lady stores, it’s a welcome break. More manly than the Old Spice Guy. They are their own leather manufacturers, with piles of unsplit hides and industrial leather machines. The store is filled with a tight and reasonably priced selection of men’s clothing, Generic Man shoes, vintage Pendleton, old school shaving supplies, antique tools and gadgets. There is a theme of early NW mountain climbing and skiiing, old manly photos, wood, leather. They don’t apologize for their manliness, nor should anyone. It’s a great shopping spot for men; or ladies looking for unique man gifts.

I love Tanner Goods(best belts ever), who I believe operates this shop. Nice selection of menswear with a workwear slant, and of course more Tanner Goods products than you can shake a stick at. Will definitely stop in every time I visit Portland.
