The prices are very high. I don’t like how the entire table had to agree on the same thing. The waitress was friendly but don’t expect her to come around and refill your side dishes/sauces or drinks for that matter. Hope you don’t choke because no one would be around to help you. There where 4 of us and we got one very small dish of the toppings to share. Meat was pretty fatty. in other words if it where the last place in town with seating i might go back but as long as there are choices and free will i will keep my distance.

I love this staff. They are kind, friendly, accommodating and fast. Despite others’ reviews(ignorant trust funders moving to PDX by the minute) this is the best place you’ll find inside inner Portland. For more Korean food, you’re going to have to drive to Beaverton or 82nd. There is ample seating, even with large parties, and I’ve NEVER had a problem getting a table. The food is delicious and includes photos on the menu for those newbs who have no idea what they came to eat. Just like any other small business run by a family, be respectful and you will also be treated with respect. Treat them like immigrants and you will be treated like an ignorant ass. Duh.

We went there on new year’s day; got on the list. In 20 minutes maybe 1 visit to the list from servers. A number of open tables(a couple stayed dirty for at least 10 minutes), at least 4 waitresses working that day, but unable to manage in and out of customers. They just seemed really disorganized; the wait staff seemed adequate for number of tables. We walked out. My in-laws had had a similar experience a couple of months before. Will say that the 1st time inlaws went there, they were able to get seated and really liked it.

My first time here and everything was awesome! The prices were a good price since they were quality food and we had a plenty to eat!

Great meat. Lovely service. Fantastic combination choices off the menu. Even though the menu is like a book, there was plenty of choices that fitted me.

I really liked this place, it is a very good option if you like Korean BBQ. They had different prices and options for your items that you could chose from. Which I really liked because sometimes you just want your one or two favorites and don’t want to pay more money for everything under the sun that you will not eat. Now onto the food, everything was fresh and good, the BBQ got nice and hot making it perfect to cook up the hard to cook meats along with the beef. I also really enjoyed there dipping sauces that they had on the side. The only complaint I have was the service it was slow but it looked like it was do to being under staffed at the time then anything. When our waiter was around she was great.

An average all you can eat Korean BBQ. They do have a variety of other Korean dishes. I personally would recommend Option B. I only chose Option C to try out«Toji Galbi» to find out that it tastes like galbi made with sauce that has been diluted with water. I also tried their Kimchi pancake as an appetizer and it tasted great. Side dishes are a little below average but I did enjoy their dipping sauce. I believe that Toji is the only all you can eat KBBQ, but in comparison to others all over the West Coast, Toji is too expensive for what you get.

Love it here. Delicious meat that you grill right at your own table! Customer service is on point. Make sure you try the cinnamon tea after your meal! It’s soooooo good.

Side dishes were small and not very good. They charged me $ 3.95 for barley tea. The family style BBQ was well seasoned, and the basis for two stars. Also, the service was slow. Overall, in a city with so many wonderful food choices, this restaurant is highly overpriced and very mediocre.

My husband took me here for a surprise birthday dinner. What a treat! It was fun and the food was excellent. First time eating traditional Korean food and it was great. Will certainly go back! Yum!

We ate here several months ago. As it was our first time at Korean BBQ I didn’t have a comparison for review. After eating at K-Town tonight I feel better prepared to compare! The parking lot is small but at least it has one. Ambience and décor were really nice. Service was friendly. The quality of the meats were good. The side dishes were just ok. It was really really expensive and we were hungry for another dinner in just a couple hours. Not good value for the money. I wouldn’t go back, especially since K-Town is closer to home, easier to park at, more casual and has great food.

First time coming here, me, the wifey, her sister and father came to get our grub on. This is an all you can eat Korean Bbq bs man it was good!!! The meat assortment is good and the menu has so much variety to choose from!!! We chose option B $ 24.99 per person. The atmosphere is very splendid and this place is in the heart of the Hawthorne District!!! Highly recommended if you love Korean Bbq and love all you can eat too hahaa. This place is bomb!

Originally my wife and I were targeting a different restaurant up the street… however the wait time was well over an hour. So we went for a stroll and happened upon Toji. So, what the heck! It was a fantastic find! Prices were reasonable, the service level was above average(though it could’ve been a bit better) and we absolutely loved our food. We didn’t do the cooking on the mini-grill at the table. We ordered different items. But every thing we had was absolutely fantastic! It’s been about 2 weeks since we ate there… otherwise I’d provide more details on what we ordered. But I was writing a review for somewhere else today and it hit me that I hadn’t given some well deserved kudos to Toji for our visit.

First time eating at a true Korean restaurant. The food, ambience, and services were all excellent. I especially enjoyed the pan-fried vegetarian potstickers and the pancake appetizers. The crispy fried sole and all the condiments including the kimchee were also delicious. Portland is definitely for foodies. So many choices of great restaurants and all within walking distance from my daughter’s home in Southeast Portland. Next time I come to Portland, I want to try the Portuguese restaurant across the street. That will have to wait for another time as I fly back to Maui tomorrow.

Came by at 10 pm this evening(Friday) and they were closed. Do they close at 11 pm or sometime earlier? I wouldn’t have driven across town if your hours were posted correctly. I don’t know if I’ll be back anytime soon.

We were too lazy to make the drive out to Beaverton and decided to give this place a try. Now I can’t say I dislike this place but I won’t say I love it either. Reason being: 1. It is really overpriced and you do not get what you pay for! The meat is no where near the quality of where it should be, no marbling and the pork belly is cut super thin and at 20 $ for an add on plate you should receive more than 10 thin slices. 2. Kalbi meat is short rib meat and what came to our table reminded me of thick flank steak that was poorly cut because it was cut extremely thick. 3. The meat sets are poorly balanced. Example for set A you will get thin meat, bulgogi and some Kalbi for 30 $ which feeds 1 – 2 people and then for set D you get everything in set A but with added kalbi and more beef which is supposed to feed 1 – 4 people at the price of 75 $. So as a rational eater we figure we should get set D as opposed to buying 2 set A’s for 60 $ because we might not get enough and D is pre-calculated to feed more people right? Wrong. Even though we got the more expensive plate less came to our table. We actually had to order more raw meat on the side. 4. This place is so convenient being right smack dab in Hawthorne! I like how clean it is and how the menus are easy to read. 5. They have their own parking lot! 6. Aside from the kbbq here I really like the regular menu items, they are delicious and are fairly priced! I highly suggest getting the seafood pancake, it’s crispy and just creamy and savory. 7. The side dishes here are okay, flagging down someone to refill them takes time. I will go here if I want non-bbq.

Toji is my go-to Korean BBQ place on the east side. Though they don’t have the all-you-can-eat-meat option, you can get all the side dishes and rice refilled(for free). Highly suggest going with a group of 4 and get their party platter, which will be ~$ 16 – 20 each. Make a reservation for the weekends, they are pretty busy! Their small parking lot is reserved for customers, so a good chance you will get a parking spot. The little thing that I enjoyed: rice-based tea. It’s their standard house tea(free), and it has this rice taste.

AS A KOREAN, IMEMBARRASSEDTOHAVENON-KOREANSEATFROMTHISRESTAURANT. the meat«kalbi» = ribs. these are not ribs. After the owner changed(i think it was a couple years back), they use SUPERLOWQUALITY meat. THESEARENOTRIBS. I believe the meat is from other parts of the cow(they dont have the rib bone with the meat= very big possibility that they use some other part) The marbling is non existent. for ~25 dollar kalbi, you should have excellent quality kalbi. Fellow Americans, i know that the nearest korean bbq place is far from downtown, but please go to Beaverton. Thanks for loving korean food, but this is not the place to have it. VERYBADQUALITYMEAT. WHEREDOTHEYGETIT? SAFEWAY?

I was really disappointed at the portion and the prices here. The prices for the combos were way over $ 50+ dollars and the portions that came were kinda like they were serving meat for 4 young toddlers; and not for TWOPEOPLE. I know that they are kinda short handed for a restaurant with many tables and not many waitresses. But i think you can really cut out the customer’s wait time of their food, if you can just bring out the side dishes EARLIER, and not bring them with the BBQ meat. Many tables were just sitting there waiting for about 30 minutes before the RAW meat were served. Theres no cooking involved why does it take 30 minutes to put raw meat on to a dish and bring it to the table? It bewilders me, how many people were waiting for a table to eat here; when we were walking out. I honestly had better korean BBQ. maybe i’m being biased; having eaten at korean town in NYC and flushing; but for the price they put up on their menu mirrors the prices in NY, and i think the customer deserves way more than what they serve here. I don’t recommend this place to anyone, maybe next time i’ll drive into hillsboro. $ 2.50 for a water downed pepsi? REALLY no refills?

My girlfriend and I were staying in Vancouver for the weekend. We came across this Korean bbq place on Saturday thanks to Unilocal. Being part Korean this place wasn’t bad. The banchan was pretty good. My favorite was the cucumber Kimche and my girlfriends favorite were the potatoes. Btw my girlfriend said if your American you’ll love the potatoes. :) We got the combo a I believe it was around 60 dollars for two people. I originally live in the Olympia area and the cost for an all you can eat Buffett in Lakewood is 25.00 a person for a good one so the price was a little on the spendy side for 2 people. The service wasn’t terrible. The server did come to check up on us at least once, and refilled our banchan to the maxxxx when we asked for a refills. Overall, if I’m in the Portland area again I would go again possibly with more people to split the cost. :)
