Toys R Us

Last night I went in to this store expecting to find good deals on a wide variety toys for my daughter’s birthday. I also expected to find a clean store and helpful employees. These expectations were met, and overall I would say my shopping experience was positive. It wasn’t until I was checking out when the associate asked if I wanted a bag. I was purchasing 6 toys, wrapping paper and scotch tape. Total was just over $ 101. I was informed that the medium bags were $.10 and the large bags were $.20. Are you kidding me? I drop $ 100 and have to pay extra to conveniently carry my purchased items out of your store? No problem. There are plenty of box stores that sell a wide variety of toys. Also plenty of online options at this point. I do not plan on returning to a Toys R Us just out of sheer principle. If I spend over $ 100 in cash and then have to pay extra, for a service that has been regularly provided at no charge for my entire life, I will just take my future business elsewhere. I wonder how much business that $.20 bag is going to cost you over my lifetime.

I was shocked to find out that I had to pay for a plastic bag! When I asked why they didn’t have any paper bags, I was told that the ones they ere using «weren’t recyclable.» That has to be a biggest bunch of BS I’ve ever heard. If you are buying a lot of stuff, bring your own bags!

This store is pretty standard for all the baby crap you need (or think you need) for babies. They have decent (not fabulous) diaper prices, lots of options to choose from. Chlorine free and all that. They even have decent sale racks for baby clothes. I did go in looking for a baby bathtub thermometer and all they had was this goofy duck that said TOO HOT or JUST RIGHT. I will admit, it offended my own sense of intelligence.
My Main Complaint though, has to do with bags. The last couple of times I’ve gone, the only bags they have available are big enough to fit three entire children into. My sense of «don’t waste bags» kicks right in and I say no thanks and cram stuff into my purse and tuck it under my arms and try to get out to the car.
Last time, however, I had an armful of two week old baby, and STILL all they had were those stupid big bags. It was annoying, totally thoughtless of harried moms hauling children and babies around, and irritatingly contrary to the ENORMOUS size of their shopping carts. Come on, people, stop being such cheapskates and provide small paper bags with handles!!!

Good deals on some things, if you don’t mind not being helped. They seem to be under staffed. It’s not a bad choice for baby stuff the place is HUGE. It’s just seems like they cut a lot of corners like charging .25 cents a bag at checkout.
I was informed that it was because they can’t use plastic bags :/

Love, love, love this Toys R US. This is my one and only favorite location. Autumn in registry and the manager (with short brown hair) is freaken awesome. Her name escapes me at this exact minute, however, they are ALWAYS friendly, will help you and are just out of this world. I’ve been coming here since I was pregnant, and my daughter is almost 2 now. They always have items in stock, that usually other places don’t. Its clean and easy to find stuff. Never had a problem with returns either. Just overall a nice shopping experience every time!

Toys «R» Us did a really good job with putting babies are us in combination with it at this location
They have all the toys your kid could ever want they even have their brand of toys.
my biggest complaint is that they don’t always stay fully stocked and for you to be the number one leading toys store I feel like you should always be fully stocked unless it’s Black Friday or maybe around the holidays but on non-​holiday basis nothing should be out of stock so that’s my biggest complaint and my biggest reason for giving them 4 stars employees are nice but you never fully stocked!

Purchased the truly scrumptious cart cover online and set it up for in store pick up. Paid with paypal and picking it up was so easy thanks to the friendly gentlemen at the store! Can’t get enough of this store. Doesn’t help my shopping addiction! :)

Big store people are usually nice and helpful. Overpriced but they price match! Remember that next time you go.

This is a very large store with Babies R Us included. The employees were very friendly and helpful. Merchandise seemed to be well stocked.
The prices were high compared with ordering online. But I would stool purchase from here if I was crunched for time.

Store has great selection if baby items. 20% coupons are great. Staff is not super knowledgeable on products. Return policy after 90 takes lowest pricing even though current pricing on item is marked higher.

Best one around. Much larger and larger selection.

This store gives new meaning to the phrase «high prices».

I forgot how much fun a giant toy store can be! There are lots of interactive displays as well as a large selection of goods to choose from.

If you are looking for anything related to a first birthday– forget it. This place must think kids go from 0 – 2 years. They will sell you toys and clothes but nothing for a special party. Not even Mylar balloons… Shame on you big box store!

On our way from Vancouver BC to Portland, this Toys R Us was on the way.
The store was bigger than the ones we had in Vancouver and you can find everything. Great that the Babies R Us was attached too. I was able to get a toy for our nephew and the husband was kept busy in the Transformers section.

Great for birthdays even without belonging to birthday club. Store associates awesome. Birthday crown, balloon, in-​store announcement and even happy birthday song.
