Specialties
At TLS, education is more than just an academic endeavor, but also the development of the whole child – spiritually, mentally, emotionally, socially, and physically – whether at school, home, or in the community. TLS’s staff work as a team, and together with each student’s family, are dedicated to equipping each child with the necessary skills to succeed in using the talents God has given them.
TLS offers a high-quality education that challenges each individual student within the nurturing environment of small classes. Children are inspired to believe in themselves and to strive for greatness in all their endeavors. Students learn to be personally accountable and good stewards of their time, talents, and treasures.
History
Established in 1891.
Trinity Lutheran Church established Trinity Lutheran School (TLS) in 1891, one month after it was founded in 1890.
The church founders believed the school should be the community’s foundation, and since then, the school has been integral to the church and its mission.
TLS grew from two rooms to a four-room school. To further accommodate its expansion, the school moved to its current location on NE Killingsworth Street.
TLS currently has a full and part-time staff serving about 110 students from pre-school through grade 8.
