Union Cab Pdx

This is the worst cab company ever, at Union station after getting off a long train ride, I got into one of Union cabs out front. The driver was only taking me 1.3 miles. He immediately started off with 3.00 $. I asked if they took credit cards. he said it had to be over 20 $. We hadn’t even got to Burnside so I told him to turn down Burnside there is a ATM right next to dauntes. I got out got a 20. I looked at the fare. And it was 6.10 $. I said I’m good let me just pay you, I handed him the 20. He gave me 10. Back I said no this isn’t the right change. He gave me 1 dollar back and said he didn’t have it. What a rip off.!!+. It cost me almost 10 to go 4 blocks!!! Don’t use this cab company the are rip offs.

The. WORST. Zero Stars. Avoid at all costs.
Driver had idea where NW 24^th avenue was. Had to repeat my address 3 times.
Meter was not visible at any time during the ride.
Driver was absolutely terrible. Nearly hit a motorcycle on the highway.
Missed my street twice.
Asked me to pay in cash.
My fare from the airport was $ 44 plus a $ 6 tip.
My trip to the airport 2 days earlier at the exact same time of day with über was $ 26.
I cannot wait until this company suffers the consequences of being awful and goes extinct.

Cab # 323 almost hit two cars in 10 seconds. He continued to weave in and out of traffic with a passenger in his car. He was endangering my life and the life of others. One of the two cars was me and the other was the car in front of me. This happened today 3 – 31 at 8:45am on HWY 84. I called to complain at 4:45. spoke to real rude lady. She refused to give her name. Very poor customer service.

DO NOT EVER enlist the services of this disgusting cab service especially if you are a woman. A cab driver decided to block traffic and then use very disparaging remarks and lots of profanity when I honked my horn. He tried to intimidate me because I am a woman. I wonder if they are even conducting background checks on these drivers. I’m sure he has a history of assault. I followed up with Union Cab and received no response. The behavior was obviously acceptable by Union Cab. Union Cab is not safe for women.

I am so, sooo mad at this company.
My family and I had to go to the airport on 01−04−16.
It snowed the day before and we knew that it will be ice the next day. We called this company reserving a cab for Monday morning going to the airport. I specifically asked if they would drive, even if there is ice on the road and they said yes.
Come Monday morning and they never showed, and didn’t even have the decency to call us. I couldn’t get through to them either.
This was supposed to be our family trip to Disneyland and I am really upset with this company.
Thankfully our resort and airline company still know what customer service means and helped us out that morning.

Not a good cab no way i will ride one

I used to be a fan, but not after fearing for my life and feeling UNSAFE.

Driver in #137 picked my husband, special needs cat and I from the airport.
TWO SEATBELTS WERE BROKEN. We couldn’t strap my cat in her carrier and my husband let me have the only working one.
We needed to be dropped off in Vancouver, and on 14 our driver was going 35 MPH in the middle lane! The freeway’s speed limit is 50 which caused a traffic hazard and other cars honking at us. Risking his life and our lifes for milking the fare? Also we were charged twice for the airport fee.
(PRO TIP: Get me to my destination safely and I will kindly will tip nicely.)
Icing on the cake was he didn’t offer a receipt, and when I called to complain no supervisor was in office since it is new years. With how I was treated, I highly doubt anyone is going to reach out to me about this incident.
If you care about your general safety, go with another company or just Lyft or Über it. I guess I am lucky to be alive to make this Unilocal review.
TL;DR: UNSAFE, go support someone else.

Holy Moly. Union Cab is really horrible when it comes to hiring drivers that have decent customer service skills. The driver in car 185 is just rude and keeps a dirty cab, I saw the way he treated another companies driver and had an after thought that I should’ve gotten out & got into the other companies cab. Im noticing a trend from Union Cab drivers. So far I’ve found EcoCab to have the nicest, cleanest cabs & drivers. Seems to be the most English fluent cab company also.
If I could give Union Cab less than one star for customer service and cleanliness; I would.

Do not use. They are the worst Tracy who says she is the supervisor is the biggest most condescending person I have ever talked to I am a dispatcher just like her and I would be fired for talking to people like she does the cab could not find hwy 212 in Clackamas the driver does not speak English just a nightmare do yourself a favor call a company that wants your business

Don’t bother getting into one of their cars! No gps, English or manners. Call Über next time.

I am reporting on the road courtesy of this company, not on its service. I do a lot of commuting in Portland, and I have seen Union Cab drivers cut to the front of long onramp lines while the rest of the drivers wait in the proper order. Very bad feeling about this company from its poor road manners, forcing civil commuters to wait even longer so they can be first.

He was right on time, drove safely, helped me with my bags, was nice, and got me to the airport on time.

It’s one thing to be late and another thing to lie and say you don’t have my change. What poor customer service. I spent five minutes of my time arguing with the driver for my change. I thought it would be cool to support unionized drivers. Not anymore.

Once again, stuck in a cab, maniac driver at the wheel, typical crazy Portland cab. So glad UBER is finally here, just need to get my employer to understand the difference.
I hope Über and Lyft run these idiots out of my hometown. Ridiculous. Aside from Radio Cab, stay away from all of them.

Zero stars– accused my friend of potentially puking when she was the most sober out of the group. What gives him the right to make that accusation? Right down rude and offensive. Will never ride with them again. Literally ubered after this incident :)

Months ago, I used Union cab to get home from the airport and they did try to go the long way and needed directions at almost every turn. I’m writing a review today because of some reckless driving we observed while driving my car home from the airport. Just like another comment I saw, this involves driver 120, #7020, oregon plates 903 EHR. This driver was going at least 60 mph on the 45 mph Airport Way street. He did not use his signal once and careened into the lane I was signaling to change into. I could see him ahead of me swerving through the rest of traffic with no signal. I checked out their website when I got home and found their claims laughable. I wouldn’t call a crusty old ford crown victoria «environmentally» friendly! (Especially the way he was driving too!). I agree with the other posters and this driver puts everyone’s life on the road at risk.

I get in after riding the bolt bus down and tell him where I want to go, about 15 blocks away.
He responds, «you know how long I’ve been waiting here? Over one hour for an airport ride but you don’t want to go far. That is very bad luck.»
Then he adds after a few minutes of awkward silence, «you better have cash — very bad luck!»
I replied, «I have cash and I understand you’re not happy with my shorter ride.»
I get out and close the door like a normal person and start to cross the street, he then pulls in front of me almost clipping me off and yells at me through the window «Don’t hit my door! You hit my door!» I told him «I closed the door? I did not hit it» then he yells more saying «I will sue you! I will sue you for hitting my door!!» and peeled away.
Two other people who were crossing from the other side of the street (he only blocked me from crossing on our side) walked up to me asking if I was okay and that the driver was insane. I didn’t even slam the door shut. He is clearly out of his mind and looking for reasons to sue a passenger.
Unacceptable to guilt trip a customer for where they need to go, yell at them and then physically cut them off with your car in order to yell at them more. I did nothing to warrant this and remained polite the entire ride regardless of his foul way of treating me and I did not hit his door or even slam it. Never use this service, I’d rather walk in the drizzle next time.

Every single time. Every. Single. Time. I get into PDX late after a full day of travel, and the Union Cab driver needs turn by turn directions to get to my house, which he doesn’t understand. What cabbie doesn’t know where Killingsworth is?
He goes way out of the way, adding $ 10 to the normal fare, or we end up in a pantomime argument while he’s flying down the street at 30 over the limit.

Tourists: Do not get in a Union Cab.

Having recently read an article about Union Cab, a new driver-​owned taxicab company run as a cooperative, with a largely hybrid fleet, digital dispatch and a goal to provide fair wages, I was pleased to find one of their cars waiting in the taxi line at the airport when we returned from our vacation.
It started out as a 5-​star cab ride: The car was new, and immaculate. The driver was cordial, but not chatty – perfect, as we were tired and just wanted to get home We gave him the address and he knew exactly where he was headed, without the use of GPS, and right away asked which route we preferred, naming two options. Although traffic was light on the freeway, he kept hitting the brake, which made for a very jerky ride. This was kind of unsettling but not really a problem. When we were almost home, he pulled into the turn lane just as the signal changed. Instead of stopping, he blew through the red light and around the corner, not noticing that a pedestrian was partway across the street in the crosswalk. He was about to hit the guy so I yelled «watch out!» and he swerved, fortunately missing him. The driver looked in his mirror and kept going, commenting about how dangerous it was for people to wear dark clothes at night. A few blocks later, my heart still racing from the almost-​accident, he stopped in front of the house and delivered our suitcases to the front door with a smile as though nothing out of the ordinary had happened.
While I always appreciate when a cab driver gets me to my destination quickly, with an eye toward the ticking meter, a less eventful ride would have been preferable. That said, I would try Union Cab again, and hope for a different driver. Nice guy, terrific service, driving not so good…
