Van Duyns Chocolate is the best… yum! My favorites are the salted caramel with sea salts from Ireland. Just the right amount of salt and smooth caramel. All other chocolates taste like wax compared to Van Duyns! Jim Kennedy

Van Duyns Chocolates are the best! European quality, exquisitely presented and perfect for any special occasion, gift or thank you. I serve them to my clients in my photography studio and everyone loves them. The truffles are especially wonderful! Give them a try if you haven’t already!

These are simply some of the very best chocolates that you’ll ever have. Made to perfection, they make a wonderful gift for anyone. If you go by the store, Debbie is always there with a smile and a kind word, too.

Visited Van Duyn’s to pick up some favorites for Valentine’s Day. There are too many yummy chocolates to choose just one! The truffle mints and salted caramels are not to be missed. The rocky road is also amazing! Van Duyn’s is a perfect choice for treats for teachers, employees, friends and loved ones.

I should subtract a star just for the location, but chocolate as good as this is worth the drive. They will also ship it to you if you really can’t take the traffic. I think I’ll probably pay for shipping next time just to avoid the frustrating drive. The chocolate here is very very good. Always fresh and homemade. Spendy, but not more so than the mall chain shops. The selection is unique and the recipes are delicious. The milk chocolate is super creamy. The fillings are neither bland nor overwhelming, and you can really tell that the nuts in their products are high quality. When weather permits, they have fresh divinity. Service is always great! They let me look(and smell) as long as I need, and they are very helpful in finding a good selection for people with allergies to specific ingredients. They even gave me one for the road so I wouldn’t have to tear into the nicely wrapped package while I was driving home.

Really tasty chocolates. I was chattin’ it up with the friendly counter-person and she told me that its been around for 40+ years. I really enjoyed the chocolates, they’re fairly priced and I love supporting local business. Ill be back for my chocolate cravings and will send some home to the East Coast over the holidays!

Chocolate ambrosia — Van Duyn’s is classic chocolate at its best. Long before Moonstruck and Cacao, excellent, to be sure, there was Van Duyn’s. I’ve enjoyed their confectionaries for more than half a century, especially their dark chocolate Bayou Chews, Van Dangos, Almond Clusters, and Kahlúa truffles. Van Duyn’s chocolate is not just decadent, it’s good for you! The cardiovascular and other health benefits of dark chocolate are well known by now, but many people are unaware that processing with alkali, as some chocolates are, removes the flavanols and other beneficial antioxidants. Van Duyn’s chocolates are alkali-free, so not only do you get all that luscious chocolate goodness, you get the full health benefits, too. Always fresh and a good value for the money, Van Duyn’s is, in fact, a better value than many of the trendier shops. The chocolates are made on site and one of the owners works behind the counter, so customer service is superb.(Note that all of the shops other than the one on NW Quimby Street have been closed.) By the way, chocolate is made from the beans of the cacao tree(Theobroma cocoa) and Theobroma means food of the gods.
