Vape Spot

As an out of town visitor it was a quite a treat to visit Vape Spot. They were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I will absolutely visit again before I leave!

I’m a seasoned Vape enthusiast, spent about 3000 dollars in mods tanks and juice in 2015. I have been to pretty much every Vape store in pdx. My «home shop» is Vape spot employees are knowledgeable as well as helpful, u won’t find Vape snobs here. Just honest fans of the movement. The other day I broke my glass to my artic tank (which is the best tank of n market in my opinion) the manager could of sold me a brand new tank as I asked to buy one. Artic doesn’t make a replacement glass that is sold separate. She took the tank cleared broken glass cleaned the tank inside and out. The manager then found an old obsolete tank that was same size, she was able to get glass to fit my artic! Thanks Vape spot for not being greedy and for being so patient with me I would give 7 stars if I could!

I made a Unilocal account just to review this shop. I’ve been going to this vape shop off and on for some years and I recently started to vape again after a break. The selection has always been current and competitive. Most recently when I went in I got criticised for my out dated mod, the attendant was being inappropriate while helping 2 female customers, so he had me wait until he was done and then proceeded to help another customer that came in after me (I had already waited 20 mins), then continued to criticised me about a flavor that I asked for which they no longer carried. Completely unacceptable customer service. Will not being going back and will go out of my way to recommend that no one go here.

the juice they carry is bunk! Maybe they should think about adding something new to there juice line. Plus the lady that helped me was very rude and didn’t give me the time of day.

I was visiting Portland for the first time and stumbled upon this vape shop. I was immediately greeted by several friendly folks who were hanging out and having a good time. I ended up spending over an hour there chatting with the employees and locals. I picked up some new gear and juices at a very reasonable price. These folks are very knowledgable. I’ve been to vape shops all over the country and I’m not sure the local Portland vapers know how good they have it. I will definitely be back next time I’m in town.

Good ppl. Good product. Helping me quit the skanky sticks. Places like this need to be downtown and the suburbs so ppl can see the choices before lighting up a smoke.

You know what? Fuck this shop.
I bought a bottle of juice there yesterday. When I checked my bank statement last night, I noticed the lady that works there (I think she’s the owner) overcharged me $ 1 from the price that was on the shelf. I went back in my history to look at my previous purchases, and this woman has added a dollar to the price 3 out of 4 purchases. Between this, and her habitual condescending attitude, just fuck this place. I’ve been vaping for two years, and this lady treats people like they are idiots.
Aside from that, this place is fucking gross. It’s dirty and run down. With the exception of one guy that works there, the shop seems like it’s run by tweakers.
If you every wanted to experience a little bit of white trash Appalachia here in Portland, then this is the shop for you.
This isn’t about $ 3. This is about the principle. If you’re that hard up for cash that you need to steal from customers, you’re doing it wrong. Will never set foot in this shithole again. It’s a joke of a shop, even by Portland standards.

So, after hearing mixed reviews of this place, I decided to check it out, because I walk by it a lot.
I heard that the staff was inattentive to customers; that is not what I experienced. The two guys who were working when I walked in immediately dropped everything to ask me what I was looking for and how they could help me. (As an extreme introvert, I could have done without that, but they certainly didn’t ignore me as some of the other reviewers experienced.)
Additionally, the place was glaringly clean. Reading other reviews, I legitimately thought that I might be walking into a dingy crack-​den. So, I have no idea what other reviewers experienced, but it isn’t what I saw. There was no cloud of vapor or anything seedy.
So, the staff and environment were spot on. What wasn’t were the products. I was sold a bottle of liquid that didn’t have the PG/​VG percent on it (which– caveat emptor– is my own dumb-​fault for buying it anyway.) Also, there were boxes to mark the mg nicotine content on the bottle, but none were ticked, so as far as I know, it had anywhere from 0 to 24mg. I trust that he gave me the mg that I payed for– but, still…
And it’s a bit a pricey, but so is having a retail space on Burnside, so that’s expected.
I don’t imagine that I’ll be going back, but this place doesn’t deserve any of those scathing 1 star reviews.

Called around and this was the only place I could find that just had replacement Pyrex for my sub tank mini on-​hand. Well I considered telling friends to call the police if I don’t return given some reviews here mentioning how seedy this place is…
I didn’t see any shoeless children running around and I’m pretty confident it is not a drug den or money laundering front.
It was just a clean vape shop with friendly attentive staff. Alan, a trained blacksmith (or professional BSer) that builds and hacks on mods taught me how to rebuild my head (that I hadn’t even bought there) gratis and was a total wealth of information. Generous with his time. I had him cornered and answering every question I could think about and he seemed excited to impart a little wisdom to a dummy.
I can’t speak to their juice or batteries and the hardware I got was legit.

Ok so after reading the reviews on here I only have myself to blame for this one.
First of all, the comments are right. This place is seedy as hell. That doesn’t bother me any but if you get uncomfortable easily going to a new place, you might want to skip this spot.
So outside looks like a rad very-​portlandy place. You go up some stairs and enter what I legitimately thought at first was the wrong place. I thought I had accidentally gone into a back room or something or possibly the living room of a trap house in ATL. The room was FILLED with smoke, which I guess I should have expected? I’m from CA and most places that sell smoke/​vape stuff aren’t smoke lounges. While it didn’t bother me, if you’re with a non-​smoker or someone with allergies/​asthma they need to stay outside.
What definitely caught me off guard was that someone had a small child there. Maybe five or six years old. I must have looked like I had just seen a ghost because seeing a young child run to the bathroom through a thick cloud of smoke is strange at best.
Also, is that allowed? I mean I guess since it’s not a «pipe» smoke shop it’s fine. I’ve been to many smoke shops, pipe shops, smoke lounges, hookah lounges, ect., and I’ve always been carded so I assumed having small children in these places was frowned upon at the very least. But I could certainly be wrong. Alright so let’s leave that one up to questionable parenting. Who cares.
So I move past the kid and at this point I’m a little hesitant and 100% uncomfortable but I moved forward. There was a couch where two people were looking like they were stoned out of this solar system. Which is fine. Unprofessional maybe but again, if you’re going to a place like this you might want to loosen up a little.
What bothered me was that beyond a simple «hi!» I received no help. I wasn’t really sure who to approach or what was going on, there was a table of people and a girl helping a guy who I think came in after me. I wandered the selection a little bit even though the back of my mind said «single women get kidnapped and sold as slaves in places that look a lot like this» but I figured maybe I could get the Aspire starter kit I wanted. Which they had! And perhaps if I hung out a bit longer I would have been helped but honestly I was so beyond uncomfortable I decided it wasn’t really worth it to see if anyone would help me. With all that added together, I have to give this place 1 star. I’m guessing that because I’m a young female they assumed I wasn’t a serious buyer and figured I wasn’t worth the $ 80+ I planned on spending today.
I’m sure they’re rad people but I think this is just a spot for them and their friends to hang out. Which is cool, just go in knowing that. If you have any amount of social anxiety you’ll be more comfortable stripping naked and running down Steel Bridge in broad daylight. Guess I’ll be ordering my Aspire online!

I have been to all the vape shops in Portland. This one is seedy dirty and kinda gross. If they are going to stay in business they are going to have to step it up. The vape liquid was low end. Ick. Not super helpful either. Also had nicotine in all the vape liquid and was not warned about it. My friend who vapes but has never had nicotine smoked some she’s pissed.

Mostly clones that are available from Fasttech for much cheaper. I didn’t see any rare items, and they lacked significantly in the VW /​VV devices and authentics. Nice to see a drill press in the corner for at least some degree of customization for customers.

Went here to try out some premium juices and the customer service was great. Justin and Brandon are super chill dudes. So glad I came here. I’m still relatively new to vaping so I was concerned I would be taken advantage of but didn’t feel that way what so ever. Love coming here cause the employees are all so nice especially the dude Justin he was nice enough to rebuild my Orchid and did such a great job and was really nice about it. Overall I enjoy coming to Vape Spot because I don’t feel taken advantage or feel like the employees think I’m stupid for asking questions.

I know the lady there from her last store and both shops have excellent service… and excellent prices… I won’t go anywhere else

They carry Bamskilicious and Justin is a great dude who is passionate about vaping. Other than that, this shop needs a huge make over and stock turn over. Too many clones and too much crap juice. I hope to see better from the only viable downtown shop.

I have been to this shop a handful of times and here’s the good, bad, ugly of it.
— when walking in to the shop you do feel like you’re either walking into an opium den or a seedy whorehouse somewhere in Bangkok
— the staff seems hit or miss. They are all friendly but the knowledge seems to depend on who you get to talk with.
— they certainly have a good selection of vapors to sample and choose from and I’ve found a few here that I do really like.
— their Mods are fairly overpriced — especially for their clones.
— I was impressed when the lock ring on my mod broke that they replaced it without any real problems from another clone, which is good customer service
— they seem to suffer from stocking problems as they are constantly out of coils. they also seem to have issues with some of their ejuice suppliers as my friend was waiting for a specific flavor for well over a month (I’m not sure it ever came in). It was funny because one day we’d go in and it was supposed to be in the next day, we’d come back and they «just had it couldn’t find it» etc etc
— it’s really convenient if you work downtown
So, this place has some potential based on it’s location. I think they just need to iron out the kinks in their business model a little bit and work out their supplier issues. Otherwise, if I’m in need of some ejuice I know I can at least hope over and find something in a pinch.

I came in not knowing anything about vaping, I just knew I didn’t want to smoke cigs. Justin helped me through the whole process and got me going with a sick new setup. Very good at explaining the whole process and took the time to help me and show how things worked. I would recommend the vape spot to anyone.

I have mixed feelings about this place. The selection is pretty good and one guy is friendly, but they’re also ridiculously overpriced. I got a 777 kit there for sixty-​five dollars because I really wanted one that day, and later when I looked online, I realized the same kit I got could be found online for fifty dollars. Now, I understand that buying something in person is convenient and therefore costs more, but that’s ridiculous. Also, their juices are overpriced but a few dollars. Doesn’t seem like much but it definitely adds up. What I suggest is going in, trying the products and flavors and whatnot and finding which ones you like, then go online and order them for much cheaper. Even including shipping, I bet it’d be cheaper. Also, the place is very smoky and when you walk in the employee is smoking and hanging out on a computer. It’s just unprofessional feeling.

Stopped by today to pick up something inexpensive as I wait for my order from FastTech to ship overseas, and was helped promptly and well even though I clearly wasn’t going to drop a lot of cash here today. If the dude behind the counter is the guy people were bitching about, they haven’t lived in Portland long, just the usual hip detachment, no big. He hooked me up in no time and even went through the trouble of helping me find a flavor I liked for my free bottle of liquid with a starter kit, and offered to show me the ropes on my vape if I needed it. A couple of the reviewers here need to calm the fuck down.
The only downsides were the sketchy part of town if you frighten easily, and the overwhelming nic sauna when you step inside if you’ve been away from smoking for a while. Have no complaints, will visit again.

Nice place and great location. An easy way to tell people where it is, is to say it’s right next to VooDoo. ;-)
