Beautiful. You are in for some amazing finds if you stop by. I was in the market for something vintage, so I decided to check out Xtabay.
When I was there, it was pretty low-​key (not many people) so it felt intimate. And the staff were amazzzzing. They let you kind of explore on your own, but if you need help they’ll definitely step in to help you find something that works for you.
Surprisingly, I ended up falling in love with a dress I would have never thought of. It didn’t look anything like the original dress I wanted to find (something chiffon, floor-​length) but it fit me perfectly. I wasn’t looking for anything contemporary, which is good, because it seems like the store is full of classic styles.
I also like the fact that they post their dresses online, so you can see what they have to offer before you come in. So check out their online store (or in person) because you will fall in love.

Xtabay is a haven for beauty and excitement! The owner is wonderful, the ladies who help you are wonderful and wow the clothes, wow they are wonderful. It’s like a dream walking in to the place with its color organized racks by casual or event. The tags tell you the size, era, cost. And the ladies there will give you a quick measure if you want to make your shopping even easier. It’s such a heavenly place, I cannot praise it enough. The quality is outstanding and Liz is a master at picking the best dresses for the shop. Whether you have an event or you want to window shop this place is a MUST!

Best truly vintage store I’ve ever seen. Such gorgeous dresses from 50’s. I bought a red satin dress and a red crinoline. It’s going to be used in one of my vintage photo sessions! Such friendly service too.

Super cute selection of vintage special occasion dresses. Rachel was so good helping us find dresses that would fit, working the dressing room, and accessorizing. Wonderful experience.

The selection was incredible with tons of dresses in perfect condition. I just wanted to keep trying them on. I went looking for a prom dress and found many potential options. Unfortunately none of them fit quite right but I would wholeheartedly reccommend Xtabay to anyone who wants a vintage dress.

I went wedding dress shopping this past weekend with my Mom and best friend. This was the best shop we went to all day by far. Not only was there a great selection and the shop itself was comfortable, intimate, and cute… but Margot was OUTSTANDING to work with. She is very nice, laid back, and had great ideas. The pricing is an added bonus. I was shocked at how reasonable the dresses are with such a glamorous experience. If you are going wedding dress shopping and want something more vintage do not pass this place up. Make an appointment and feel gorgeous!

After going to the website almost weekly to admire and covet their inventory for years now, I finally visited the shop in person on a recent trip to Portland. (I live in Seattle) I don’t know why it took so long, I guess I was waiting for the perfect event to buy something special for. Well, guess what? You don’t need an occasion to buy a beautiful garment, you’re worth it. Their inventory is stunning, super high quality, and in excellent condition. All of it has been loving cared for and is ready to make you feel like a million bucks. Rachel was charming, warm, and very helpful, and if something wasn’t doing it for me, she whisked it away, and onto the next thing. Liz, the owner came in while I was there, and I was so excited to meet her that I hugged her and thanked her for having this store. She laughed and was very gracious. In the end, I wound up buying a gorgeous skirt suit (for no particular reason) that will last me the rest of my life and I couldn’t be more thrilled with it.

I recently purchased a wedding dress from Xtabay but it was far from the first time I have shopped there. Xtabay is the classiest vintage clothing store I have ever been too (including spots in NY, San Francisco, etc.) Liz is a fantastic buyer/​curator and her selection is unparalleled. You will not find the horrifying «that trend should have died for good» type vintage attire here. I also love the fact that they have little dogs all over the shop. Nothing makes me happier than petting a little pup while purchasing an extremely affordable wedding dress with very low pressure salespeople and a whimsical atmosphere. Sign me up! Thanks ladies!

This place is fabulous for bridal gowns. I’ve been to at least 6 shops looking for wedding dresses, and Xtabay had the most creative collection, comfortable atmosphere, and superduper customer service. I’m not even getting my gown here (decided I can’t do a white tone), but would totally recommend for a bride looking for something unique in a lovely environment. Plus free mimosa! yay!

My mom, sisters and I went to this shop to look for wedding gowns. It has been an extremely overwhelming, tiring day. We didn’t find anything at the shop that worked due to vintage sizing, but the employees were amazing. They realized we were discouraged and had a hard day– they allowed us to relax in the shop, provided mimosas and gave us encouragement. I am grateful for their patience and for turning around a stressful afternoon. Definitely check this spot out.

In Jan 2014 I called the shop to inquire about consigning a few things & also looking at their wedding dresses for my Feb wedding. The person on the phone said she was interested and to bring in my dresses. So my fiancé and I drove 4 hours to get there only to be told that I couldn’t look at any of their wedding line because I hadn’t made an appointment (Nothing was mentioned about that when I called from 350 miles away) & the owner was not there to look at my consignments. Again nothing was mentioned about this when I called. I was perplexed about all of this, especially since there were no other customers in the store! Needless to say, I took my consignments elsewhere & they were sold quickly. Not a happy experience.

My best friend and I popped in here last Saturday, feeling fairly confident that I’d already found «my» wedding dress at the shop we’d just visited. I had an appointment at Xtabay for the following day (Sunday), but since I was eager to buy «the one» at the other store if it was, indeed, «the one,» I figured it couldn’t hurt to quickly stop by (the bridal salon is open to walk-​ins on Saturdays, but is otherwise by appointment only). Lucky for us, the salon was devoid of any other brides-​to-​be! My apologies to Emily, the lovely sales associate, for arriving a day early and unannounced ;)
The salon itself is *beautiful* inside, such a charming and relaxed space in which to browse Xtabay’s small but incredible selection of vintage and contemporary wedding dresses. While I haven’t spent years and years envisioning my wedding day, I’ve for a long time had a general vision of what I want to look like and wear when I get married; unfortunately for me, that vision doesn’t include what is popular and readily available in the world of wedding dresses. Any discouragement I felt regarding that reality immediately faded as I began to look through the wedding dresses that Xtabay has to offer; each one is so beautiful and unique (and fantastically well-​priced!) that I had a very sneaking suspicion that «my» dress was here, despite firmly believing just a few minutes prior that I’d left it at another store.
When I did put on «the one,» I knew. The only hurdle that stood in the way of instantly achieving my «HOLY S***, I ACTUALLY FOUND MY WEDDING DRESS AND I ACTUALLY ADORE IT!» fantasy was a couple of small tears in the very delicate lace netting on the back of the dress, a few broken button loops, and a «wonky hoop» (long story undeserving of your precious time). Emily advised me to come back on Tuesday, when «Erin the Seamstress» would be in and available to answer questions regarding whether or not the dress’s minor wear and tear could be remedied.
When I did return to Xtabay yesterday, Erin instantly reassured me with her calm, confident «I can alter and/​or repair anything» demeanor; it took me mere seconds to hand over payment for the dress. She walked me through what needed to and would be done, and even informed me that Xtabay will replace the «wonky hoop» for free since its wonkiness was the result of how the dress was stored in its garment bag — fantastic-​o!
All in all, I am so very pleased with my experience at Xtabay! I am incredibly grateful to the incredible staff and to the beautiful dresses that have chosen Xtabay as their beloved bridal home.

In all honesty, I’ve never bought anything from there. This is a review of the amazing service from a sweet lady with her adorable puppy. Just strolled in on a sunny day, wandered around. We talked about life, no pressure to buy. Everything is high end, REAL vintage, usually no more recent than the 60s. Sweet little shop! If only I had the money.

They have a fabulous selection of some BEAUTIFUL pieces! The only bummer is that they are all for 24 – 26 inch waisted women… which I am not.
I found the women working there to be pleasant and inviting.
Would love to get lost in those old vintage dresses.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. The service is terrible and the owner is extremely arrogant and dismissive. I am guessing she so smitten with her recent fame and the occasional movie star who purchases that she doesnt give a squat about the everyday people.
I NEVER got the dress I wanted after two weeks of constantly emailing. in fact they completely blew me off.

There is no other way to describe this place other than with one great big JAW-​DROP to the gorgeous girliness that awaits you inside. I was ready to do cart wheels at once upon walking into the pink cloud of vintage goodies!
Elegant fur coats, high societal ladies-​who-​lunch hats, and super fun glittery party dresses that all lead up to the showy changing room up front. I don’t know how the owner managed to collect such an amazing showcase of vintage dresses, and in amazing condition — but its certainly worth an applause.
If I were a costumer this would certainly be one of my secret spots to indulge in — otherwise its rather pricey here. Most of the dresses/​gowns started at $ 198. Clearly if your a gal who has a solid heart for vintage and the figure to rock these frocks, you wouldn’t have an issue with prices.
A girly wonderland dream come true! Betsy Johnson would be pink with envy here.

How can these clothes be from 50 – 75 years old and yet, so incredibly new looking? It’s as if a time capsule encapsulated them all that time and then dropped them in to the shop.
The owner has all of her items perfectly cleaned, perfectly ironed. Eye candy everywhere you look. They even have the plastic over the top of each hanger to keep the dust off.
And there are so many hangers of deliriously beautiful dresses, skirts, and blouses. She’s got shoes, jewelry and hats as well. It’s the mother lode of vintage.
I was overwhelmed by all of it, and very happy that the owner is treating these tailored, and detailed items with such loving care, as if they were historical pieces in a museum.

If you are in the market for retro glamour, stop in to Xtabay.
Frankly, I was a little nervous to touch anything at first. Everything in this shop is all just a little too pretty and perfect. But the kindly sales gal put me right at ease, telling me to try on anything I please. And I was off to the races.
I tried on all kinds of amazing things from fancy furs to demure looking dresses. But alas I did not meet my clothing match that day. Rest assured I will be back to look through this lovely, lovely boutique another day and with any luck, will find something I can’t live without on my next hunting trip.
