Yelpers Who Brunch Elite Event At Aquariva!

Yet again, Don, Crystal, et al. have outdone themselves :-)
Yeah, I’m a major procrastinator when it comes to reviews, but alas, even now I remember the amazing mimosas (with premium, fresh squeezed juice), massive DIY Bloody Mary buffet, and awesome Elite friends on the first beautiful day of Spring like it was yesterday!
And yeah, the beautiful views and nice venue at Aquariva was quite nice as well!
I can’t wait for the next party! :-D

Loved this event. A lot. There was room to move around and places to stand or sit and chat. The people traffic flowed just right around what I have to say was a most impressive Bloody Mary bar. I’ve never been one for a big BM, but the pickled veggies were freaking delish on their own. Mimosa fixin’s were impressive as well.
Even the coffee was yummy, which basically tells me that my work needs to step up their game, because they serve Portland Roasting as well, and it doesn’t make me nearly as content and/​or caffeinated as I was yesterday. Maybe the trick is 4+ cups in rapid succession?
Thank you sunshine for making an appearance and lingering the entire day. I enjoyed making vitamin D on the balcony and watching everyone enjoy their giant BMs while all the healthy joggers whizzed by on the path down below.

A dress code theme like «Come as you are» is pretty open to interpretation. I was recovering from Red Dress Party the night before and wanted to just toss a trenchcoat over the slip I’d slept in. Seemed reasonable to me! Until I opened my front door and remembered, «Oh yeah. It’s noon». That’s really not an appropriate outfit for daylight, so I put on normal clothes, jumped on a bus and headed to South Waterfront.
Goodness gracious, Mary Agnes, I was not expecting Aquariva to be so cool! My first time there, and I was really impressed. They did a great job keepin’ the Yeeps fed and soused, including a most special Bloody Mary bar with not just your usual fixin’s, oh no… things like fancy peppers, just-​cooked bacon, fresh horseradish, and accoutrement to please any palate. I focused my boozing on the mimosa bar, adding different fresh fruit purees to what seemed to be endless glasses of bubbly.
That PB&J French Toast business was THE BOMB. Wait… are we still saying the bomb? The bomb dot com? Can we bring that back? Outdated exclamations aside, it really was crazy good.
The setting was lovely, the weather was perfect, and looking out on the Willamette with you fine people was a great way to wrap up with weekend. I will absolutely be back to AR soon — Happy Hour, anyone?

6 out of 5 stars, no doubt, the bloody mary station alone speaks to these rankings. Pickled fennel, bacon, kalamata olives (won my heart over) and a bar of fresh horseradish for grating delight… just to name a few of the mind awakening bar condiments.
But it’s not all about what you gulp down your pie hole. It’s about the 200% awesomeness of the Portland Unilocal elite community lead by the ta-​dow badass community manager extraordinaire, Don. The man knows how to throw a partay. Also cool having a obligatory leg humping sesh with the other Anna’s (all four of us!) and meeting cool new Unilocal elites and plus ones.
Going back to Aquariva: amazing space filled with a view of the riverfront. Moist coffee cake, ultra fresh fruit, and PB + J french toast. WOW!
Great seeing everyone and can’t wait until the next event. Until then, happy Unilocaling!

Is there really anything bad that can be said about a place that hands you a glass of champagne, or bloody Mary to make as you like? That bar had quite the set up! Oh, and yummy coffee cake.
The view on a sunny Spring day was outstanding too.
