This isn’t a review about Yordprom’s coffee(which is nothing to sneeze at) or their chicken soup(which is my husband’s absolute favorite) or how awesome of a work from ‘home’ place it is, or the fact they have the coolest outdoor seating in the summer time. This review is about how I almost lost my entire bag full of extremely important things including my wallet and lip balm but didn’t, because Yordprom. Last night my husband and I stop by Yordprom half an hour before they close, sit on their cool new(to me) furniture and eat some yummy coffee cake. So far, so good. Then, I proceed to leave my entire handbag and all its glorious contents by my ex-seat and walk merrily on. Over an hour later it is time to buy tomatoes and my bag is nowhere to be seen. After a few seconds of frantic running through my car and one misguided call to the Y, a lightbulb goes on and I realize that my bag is still enjoying Yordprom’s hospitality. I call them right away — but it’s well past 6pm. They’re closed. In my mind, some dastardly customer has already nicked the bag and is maxing out all my credit cards and emptying my bank account(sorry, Yordprom customers). I call up the bank and cancel my debit card. I find Yordprom on Facebook and send them a message. But maybe they don’t check Facebook(I don’t). So I find their email and send them an email. And then I wait. I’m 100% sure that no one will get back to me. Or if they do, they will have bad news. Nope. I hear back from them in less than half an hour. The bag is right there and everything’s alright!!! Thanks a million, Yordprom :) You’re a good little café.

I ordered an almond milk latte. Coffee part tasted slightly burnt, ratio of espresso shots and steamed milk was off, tasted like a terrible café au lait.

The best coffee shop in Portland. I’ve been trying to avoid this place since I pass it often, and have been sampling others around town, but I keep coming back. Unlike other coffee places in Portland, it has everything I want: 1) A great mocha, 2) Free wi-fi, 3) Plenty of seats(including a great outdoor area), 4) Good food, and 5) Easy and free parking. It would be great if there were more healthy vegetarian food options, and a bit less sugary items, and some softer seats, but it’s still a great place for a light snack.

We came to Portland for breakfast but the wait was too long at the restaurant so we walked up the street and found Yordprom. What a nice surprise! My husband enjoyed his coffee so much he bought a bag to bring home to CT. My stepson and I got hot chocolates and they were frothy and delicious. Very unique place, super friendly staff. We will definitely make this our coffee destination next time we visit.

All other reviews of this place are pretty spot on. This is a great place to get work done, and like everyone else says the Vietnamese ice latte is very good! I would have never tried it if it wasn’t for the reviews. I can only imagine how many calories the latte has, because it is very sweet. I usually finish all my coffee but I could not finish the medium I ordered. Next time I will definitely get a small. The music is great, and they have an outdoor patio. Unfortunately all the tables outside were small and only had two chairs; and I was in a group of three. Also on a nice day the tables outside are usually full. When I pulled into the parking lot I was nervous, because it is not in the best part of Portland, but it is a great get away from the area. Great place to get work done!

This review is based solely on the Vietnamese Latte. It’s so great!!! Great without a flavor shot but the hazelnut is extra tasty. Very friendly and prompt staff!

Good Cappuccino. Is handy having parking available too. Haven’t tried any other places in town yet, so hard to compare.

Yordprom is a cool coffee joint a little off the beaten trail from downtown, with great staff and better drinks. Unfortunately they don’t allow dogs inside or at the backyard garden anymore. The staff is super friendly and great at making fine brew. The vietnamese coffee is phenomenal though so sweet it’s hard to drink a whole cup. Great place for a fuel up.

I love this place! Used to live around the corner from them but, moved across town. Now I drive out of my way every morning to grab a large iced coffee. The owner and employees are always pleasant and ready to make your day better with delicious coffee.

Has the misfortune of being a block away from Tandem, with is adorable ex-gas station’ness and to die for pastries, so though I’m trying hard not to compare, I am. The coffee was fine though I wish I had gotten the Vietnamese coffee after seeing so many others order it and review it. Also had a bagel, which was also fine. Tons of seating and outlets. Spotty wifi that kept going in and out, which was weird as tons of reviews raved about it. Maybe it was an off day for some reason. The owner? barista? knew almost everyone that came in as well as their order. He has an adorable and funny relationship with the milk delivery guy who stayed for a good 30 minutes or so, as the two of them ripped on each other. Cute side patio. I like the sign on the door asking people who drive and are meeting friends to park behind one another.

Low key, quiet place to drink your coffee and work on whatever you need to do. Lots of choices in the store for coffee beverages, tea, snacks, local baked goods and sandwiches. Almond and soy milk available for a small charge. Plenty of seating but the place was still pretty full. Convenient to downtown but off to the edge of it. Parking lot available if your drive. A local can snag a book or two as part of a portable collection loaned from the Portland Library system– cool touch. This just reaffirms the quiet, focused vibe to the atmosphere. I almost felt like an interruption when I ordered my almond milk latte and snack of a Liz Lovely gluten free vegan cookie. The almond milk is not sweetened, all the better to taste the coffee. Not my favorite coffee, but it is organic and fair trade. Buy a bag for later– good cause supported.

Never been to Portland before, but this place was too cute to pass up. Great, quiet, calm atmosphere, great selection of teas. Don’t know about their coffees other than their awesome Vietnamese iced coffee. I got a Thai iced tea which tasted like the best of the Thai iced teas I’ve had in my years. Boyfriend and I got the chicken curry which was out of bounds good. Man at the counter was also super sweet! Definitely recommend it. Oh and they have a little garden with outside seating.

I was having an awful day where everything was going wrong. I set my coffee on the table and bumped the table and my coffee fell, cup splitting down the side. I cleaned up the mess and went to pay for another coffee explaining what I did. They just made me another one for free. It’s rare a business does this, and it just made my day so much better. On top of that the iced mocha was delicious. I will be back for sure and spread the good reviews! And of course will try not to dump my coffee! Thank you!

This is one of the few coffee shops in the area so it’s an easy stop, especially if you’re on your way to the farmers market on a cold day. I had a large coffee with a little syrup. The coffee wasn’t very hot and wasn’t very flavorful. I found the prices to be a little high. There was only one girl behind the counter and she was also playing barista and chef so she was pretty swamped. Would go somewhere else for a cup of brew next time.

I only have tried the Vietnamese iced coffee. It was so amazing that I would feel guilty having it on a daily, monthly, yearly basis… it is so decadent. The space was really clean and the barista on duty was great! I will go back and try more items but it will be so hard not ordering the iced coffee.

I first discovered this sweet spot a few years ago when I happened to live right next door. Every morning before work I would walk out of my building and trek the 15 feet to get my medium iced Vietnamese coffee. It is still to this date, one of my favorite drinks in the world. I’ve moved since and don’t get to visit as often as I’d like, but even after all this time the owners(if they’re working that day) still remember me(and my order!) and give the warmest of welcomes. This coffee spot is always inviting, not too loud or cluttered, and has delicious beverages. Try the Vietnamese iced coffee!

Since I work from home 80% of the week, I’m on a never-ending quest to find the best out-of-home ‘office’ from which to do my work. I also live on Peaks Island in a seasonal rental, so it’s doubly important for me to find a trusted and reliable place on the mainland that allows me to keep the winter ‘island madness’ at bay for as long as I can. Arabica(formerly Crema) generally fulfills this role, as it’s the closest spot to me and I don’t need to drive. I was, however, running an afternoon errand on Congress Street and decided to stop in here for an hour to cross it off my list. ‘An hour’ quickly turned into ‘closed down the place’. It’s hard to believe this place is only a few buildings down from Tandem Coffee(the trendy converted gas station coffee shop); these two places could not be further apart(in my mind, Yordprom is like Peter LaFleur’s ‘Average Joe’s’ gym, and Tandem is like White Goodman’s ‘Globo Gym from ‘Dodgeball’). Parking was easy; I was the only car in the lot, which looks to have the capacity for at least 7 or 8 vehicles. The café itself is a small room, and only had about 5 or 6 other people when I entered. Looking around, I immediately felt more relaxed and comfortable. It feels like the kind of open, simple and authentic place that Starbucks tries to emulate. Counter-style seats line the front window, and the bathroom(to the right as you enter) requires a passcode). The tattooed barista greeted me warmly, and I took a seat at a table over by the window. Once I was settled I realized I needed the WIFI password to get going, and as I was standing up, the barista anticipated my question and shared the information before I took a step. He probably gets that question 40 times/day. I didn’t have any food, but the cappuccino I did order was EXCELLENT. But honestly, the highlight of my visit to the coffee shop(and the reason why I’m going back soon) is the big, dopey, super-friendly golden retriever that was hanging out. I’m not sure if this is some kind of violation of health code(if they have cat cafes, then why can’t they have dog cafes???), and really don’t care because dogs make everything better, especially in place where you wouldn’t normally find them. The big fella came over to me when I called and put his big dopey head right on my lap. I think I gave him some scritches for about 20 minutes before returning to work. Because of that big golden ball of love, I would leave infinity +1 stars for this place if I could. I’m surprised that the reviews I skimmed over didn’t make mention of him before, and I’m hoping this isn’t a one time deal!

The Vietnamese coffee is like cocoa flavored rocket fuel, and it’s my new favorite. This particular brew is ground and mixed right here and interestingly enough, has no chocolate in it. It’s a deep, rich coffee that masks its power in the sweet cocoa flavor, beautifully embellished with a cream leaf if you have it as a latte, the way coffee should be served and still is, in better coffee houses. The owners couldn’t be more friendly, engaging and welcoming of their customers. The demographic here is as diverse as America itself; younger, older, funky families with little kids and bloggers and writers. Yordprom has definitely become an anchor of Portland’s West End neighborhood. The price is low but the flavor and service are massive. As far as coffee shops go, it doesn’t get any better.

This place is an oasis of relaxation, all chill with none of the coffee culture ‘tude. There’s a small off street private parking lot directly in front. The meters for on street parking are in effect from 9am — 6pm. The place has a good blend of music and a smiling, friendly guy behind the counter. I saw him help someone to their car. Super nice. The coffee was excellent and the medium dine in mug could have doubled as a cereal bowl, a generous pour. Makes me wonder if the large has seats like a hot tub. There are plenty of places to sit, including a long counter with plenty of windows along the front of the building. There’s also a small patio. A small but varied selection of baked goods is also offered. The free WiFi has a good signal and strong speed. Ask the barista for the code to log on. I’m looking very forward to making this a regular part of my mornings.
