Great value, and very good. I had chicken teriyaki special which came with tempura and salad. Prior, we were served miso soup and edamame. $ 8.99. It was very good. Service was great, atmosphere was charming.

Came in today for the first time for an appointment with someone. I was told that the owner changed three times, and the person I was eating with said it had always been so — so(fyi, she had lived in Japan for so many years and has a very picky Japanese husband). Anyway, we ordered Nigiri salmon, tuna, yellowtail, salmon roll, and eel. She was surprised that it wasn’t bad at all. Everything was fresh and had good presentation. We were pretty content, and the miso soup was good. Edamame was bland, not as fresh and was not salted either. But overall, our sushi experience was above our(kind of lower) expectation. If you are in the area and want to have some fresh sushi, I would recommend this, but if you live far away, go to places closer to where you live. Like most sushi places, this place is run by Koreans, if that makes a difference to you.

Eat here. Excellent quality, quantity, and service make this place a solid 5 star sushi restaurant. Only gave 4 because the strip mall décor needs a bit of sprucing up to feel 5-star, like the much more expensive(also excellent) Boxer or Yama Sushi. But with Yuki’s much more reasonable price-to-quality ratio for about 20% less, I recommend overlooking that! I’ve had excellent sashimi and sushi take-out here 6 times in the past few months, and finally dined-in on a stormy Tuesday night. Sadly only 2 other tables were filled. Despite that, Jenny, the owner, came by to set the mood with her big smile and warm welcome. It’s apparent she enjoys her customers and is proud of their restaurant. She’s a gracious host and together with her other server(efficient, cheerful, and strikingly attractive) provide a quality experience. We started with a complimentary edamame bowl and tasty miso soup. For a first course we ordered the Tuna sampler. It’s 3 kinds of decoratively arranged sashimi(3 generous pieces of each) on a pile of grated daikon, and topped with tobiko. The plate is also rimmed with an umami Ponzu sauce for dipping. It’s one of my regular dishes and never disappoints. My brother ordered 3 types of Nigiri, while I added a Nude on the Beach Roll. My brother is from Santa Cruz, CA, and knows great sushi. He was impressed with the quality of the Yellowtail, Salmon, and Maguro Tuna, and told Jenny the Salmon was ‘the best’ he’d ever eaten. It did melt in my mouth like butter, so yea, I agree. We also liked the large –but not excessive, skillfully cut, sizes of each piece. We were less impressed with the Roll since I’d forgotten to ask our waitress to hold the mayo drizzle. This is a large tempura shrimp(x2) stuffed rice roll, topped with spicy tuna, sesame seeds, crunchy fried shoestring onions(I think), and tobiko. Without the mayo glaze the Roll tastes clean, spicy, and crunchy. Unfortunately the mayo made it soggy. Live and learn! (Question: why do Portlanders seem to like mayo and aoli on sushi so much? That crap is everywhere so it must be a customer requirement. An Angel dies every time someone orders a sushi roll with mayonnaise, so please stop it!) My brother and I are sushi addicts who agree more people from outside the Bethany Village area need to make the trek to Yuki. They simply have the best sushi and sashimi I’ve found in the Beaverton-Lake Oswego-HWY 26SW corridor, and worth the drive. Try it and let me know what you think. And don’t forget to make time to chat with the friendly and funny Jenny. You’ll be glad you did.

Well I have to say I was a skeptic. A sushi restaurant in the middle of west side suburbia? Did it have any chance of being good? The answer is yes. The service was fine while the waitress didn’t have the best English skills but we got our needs across. We are in some gyoza, hamachi collar and the 29 pc omakase sashimi boat. Appetizers were fine, if you screw up grilled items shame in you, they didn’t. The highlight was the sashimi boat, fresh and soft salmon, hamachi, tuna and escolar slices. Also had octopus and sweet shrimp. Perhaps I came I with low expectations or the batch of fish they get was stellar but we had a great time with fresh fish. Price is not too different from other west side establishments, maybe a bit higher, but it’s extremely convenient for those who live north of Beaverton area.

Sushi was very fresh and high quality. Unfortunately, that means it’s kinda pricey; but you DO get what you pay for. We started with the Yuki sunomono which has a lot of crabs, shrimp and very tender octopus slices, we almost ordered another one but wisely decide to wait for our bento to arrive before doing so. For the main entrees, we ordered assorted bento and a chirashi bowl which ranges between $ 16-$ 22. I had the chirashi bowl, which was artistically put together. ALL the fish were very fresh and melts in your mouth. The sushi rice was proper(with rice vinegar/sugar and not hot). The others seem to like their bento too, but I think the sushi is the star in this place.

The sushi here is very good. All of the rolls are fresh and delicious. The salmon and tuna are my favorites and the I always order the Kobe roll. This is a hidden gem in the Bethany area.

SADLYWENTDOWNHILL * High rent strip mall location hit hard by the protracted recession * Cost cutting measures caused a noticeable decline in quality, like not changing fryer oil when it needs to be, resulting in oily, greasy tempura * The lobster in the popcorn lobster roll was nonexistent, when previously it had been very good * The sushi in the grocery store a few doors down is actually better, and much less expensive DONOTEATHERE, GOTOSHOTENSUSHIAT158th&WALKER

Stuck in Bethany Village? Head to Yuki for some quality sushi. If you’re on a budget, try the $ 6.95 lunch special(miso, teriyaki, rice, and gyoza). Only suggestion: music was too loud!

Guhh. Overpriced. My boi enjoyed the sushi on his plate, even finished the remainder of mine. So, the sushi was good, as I would consider him somewhat of a sushi specialist/vacuum. The Japanese fried chicken, or «Kara-age Chicken,» was tasty despite the overdone, blackened pieces. Which I assume may have been intentional. The«Agedashi Tofu» was cut into over sized, odd shapes — and began to drown, slowly, in its own sauce upon presentation(this sad imagery reflects the taste and texture as well). Fairly certain I awoke today still experiencing the repercussions of trying one piece too many of fried tempura. I liked the broccoli bits best. By the way, try removing the veins from the shrimp — this may prevent someone from considering induced vomiting later. The service was fine until the waitress insinuated we were wasteful for not wanting a to-go box. «This is enough food for a whole meal,» — astute observation dear! However, the truth of the matter is reheating what remained would’ve been completely useless, and soggy. So, excuse me for not wasting your styrofoam. Peace.

My love for sushi continues. So I was in the neighborhood and ran past Yuki Bethany and decided to treat myself. And then it happen — I smiled. A Sizzled plate of Yaki Udon and one Tuna Tower please. Great flavor and wonderful taste. Thank you, I’ll be back.

Recently ordered a variety of nigiri for lunch… but can I say something crazy?! The pieces of fish were simply too big for the rice underneath them. I will go back, however, because the fish was very good. The full menu looked great; extensive offering. I have folks with fish allergies in my family, so we will have to go there to try some of the traditional cooked dishes.

I am new to eating sushi so they’re maybe better places to eat it it but I haven’t found it yet. This place is by far my favorite sushi bar. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They always have great recommendations if you’re not sure what to get. The sushi is amazing and fresh I recommend the dragon roll I get that every time. It’s 5 min from my house and there prices are average.

Yuki is a very neat restaurant. The most memorable dish was the appetizer mango tuna plate, they’re 100% ahi tuna, not the frozen ones!!! The fish texture is so soft that it melts quickly right into your mouth. Services was excellent, we felt so welcome to dine in there.

Nice waitress and a nice selection of sushi. I went with the chicken teriyaki which has a hugeee amount of veggies in comparison to a medium amount of chicken and only a bowl of rice. Personally, I always prefer more rice, but it’s healthier with more veggies.

I’m so mad at myself for not realizing that this is the sister shop to the Yuki in Orenco Station. If I had known I probably wouldn’t have ventured out here. I still have nightmares of eating noodle soup with murky raw egg floating in it(from the orenco station restaurant) AGEDASHITOFU($ 5): Look at my picture and tell me it doesn’t look pitiful to you. I’ve never had agedashi tofu cut into such odd shapes. I think they used firm tofu too because it wasn’t as soft as what most places serve. The fried coating on the outside wasn’t good and sauce was much too salty. Total fail in my opinion. IKATEMPURA($ 6): Fried squid was better than the tofu. Some of the pieces tasted good but some of them were not as good because the squid wasn’t cut up into small bite size pieces. Maybe they got lazy and stopped chopping it up halfway through… SAKEBOMB($ 11): Their rolls were probably the best thing that they serve. This one had spicy tuna, avocado and cucumber with fresh salmon wrapped on the outside. I liked this roll quite a bit. The only complain I have is the odd taste of sesame oil in the roll. I’m pretty sure it was there because I tasted it in every bite. Maybe the cucumbers? VOLCANOROLL($ 11): Tempura salmon and cucumber roll topped with baked scallop and shrimp. You can never go wrong with a baked roll and this one was good. Quite heavy on the mayo though and I had to scrape off some of it. NEGIHAMA($ 5.50): Small roll with hamachi and green onions. I don’t eat green onions so I only tried one small piece.

Yin and yang… Night and day… That is what Yuki Bethany is to the former establishment at this locale in Bethany — Tomo sushi. Gone is the slow, plodding service. The service is light years faster and better. Upbeat jazz greets the ears upon walking in and the customary greeting from the staff welcoming you. This is a new experience, that if you are a lover of great sushi — not the mundane strip mall sushi… I mean really good sushi… Like in Japan. This is THE place to try. I highly recommend striking up a conversation with Kevin, the owner and sushi chef. He knows his sushi, and his fish. He’ll recommend items that are not on the menu — a secret menu, If youwl… and he won’t disappoint. If you seek to expand your knowledge and sushi palette this is a must add to your bucket list!
