Swimming Lessons with Mersiha

Mersiha is simply wonderful! My 4 year old daughter had swimming classes with her last summer for the first time and she truly enjoyed learning swimming from her. We continue having her this summer as well. She has thought great fundamental swimming skills to my daughter. I am amazed at how quickly my daughter has learned swimming. Mersiha is assertive yet patient with kids, and my daughter loves her. Thanks Mersiha for all of your hard work!

My two daughters, ages 3 and 5, have been taking weekly swim lessons with Mersiha for the past year. We tried serval other swim schools and teachers before finding Mersiha, and I can say without hesitation that she is the best.
Mersiha’s use of proven techniques combined with her expertise and experience help students learn to swim correctly. My kids are learning free style with side breathing, back stroke, and even butterfly, and they have shown tremendous progress in the last several months. Having watched Mersiha teach my own children as well as other children, it’s clear that she identifies how different students learn and caters her instruction to meet the needs of individual students.
Mersiha’s warm, engaging personality is perfectly balanced with her ability to be firm and get work done. My strong-​willed, independent little bugs can be a real handful. No matter how they test her, however, Mersiha is always patient and calm. She takes a no-​nonsene approach with them when necessary, which I really appreciate. She rewards them for great lessons with opportunities to dive for rings and jump off the board. My kids adore Mersiha and look forward to seeing her every week.
I’m so grateful that we found Mersiha. She has truly turned my little girls into little swimmers.

Mersiha is wonderful!!! She has been working with our 5 year old twins for a few months now, and they are now both water safe and very comfortable in the water. They have even started learning the butterfly and backstrokes.
She has the perfect approach to teaching swimming, she is warm, fun and caring but also firm enough to keep the kids on task so they get the most out of each lesson. She uses proven instructional techniques, so the kids learn the necessary skills in the right order.
I was particularly impressed with how Mersiha modified her approach given the different personalities and comfort levels of our children. Our daughter was much more tentative and has had a harder time getting comfortable in the water. Mersiha recognized this immediately and adapted her approach to match our daughter’s temperament. Mersiha also advised us on «homework» we could do with our daughter between lessons to help build her skills and confidence.
Merisha is also very professional, it is easy to communicate with her via text or email, and she is always punctual and responsive to our scheduling needs.
My only regret is we didn’t find her earlier!

Mersiha is amazing. She’s been teaching my (almost) 3 year old for over a year now. She’s given my daughter the confidence to get into water and enjoy it. Mersiha is very patient and loving.
Since I can’t always attend my daughter’s swim classes, Mersiha works with my child’s nanny to send me updates, pics and routinely informs me of her progress. Mersiha has also spent time with my daughter out of the pool to establish a connection with her. She goes above and beyond, even helping me purchase the tools, toys, fins, etc. my daughter needed. As someone who is afraid of water, I wish I had someone like Mersiha early enough in my life to help me navigate through my swimming hurdles.

My 4yr old son was terrified of the water. We tried lessons at other pools that started and ended with tears and screaming. He was OK in the water with us, but would freak out in an instructional setting.
As a mother, I try my best to be firmly but gently nudge my kids so that they are reaching their full potential. When it comes to swimming, however, I didn’t feel like my nudges were getting us anywhere. I had to find someone who could provide a loving and safe environment, and could push him to work harder in the water.
His first lesson with Mersiha was dramatic with lots of screaming and splashing (I think he was testing her), but she kept her cool. Her words of encouragement, physical security (not letting him go) and playful nature while maintaining focus on learning won him (and me) over.
When we arrived at the second lesson, he literally jumped into her arms in the pool to begin! NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE in his attitude!
We are 6 or 7 lessons in, and he is now diving for objects and literally SWIMMING. If you had told me this would happen in such a short amount of time, I would not have believed you!
Now, my 3yr old daughter is also taking lessons with Mersiha. She was less timid in the beginning than my son, but has also made leaps and bounds after just a few lessons with Mersiha.
This woman has a gift. I highly recommend her!

Mersiha is a great instructor.
My son tends to not focus and can be a handful. She was able to handle him, he learned a lot in the small amount of time he took lessons from her. His swimming improved significantly in less than eight sessions.
She really knows her stuff. I would and will use her again for next summer lessons.

Mersiha is one of the best swim instructions I have ever met. While other swim teachers have been good, they were all fun and games. Her experience and love of swim really shines through when she is in the water with her students. It is obvious she loves her job and takes teaching very seriously. Her student and their progress is her #1 priority. My daughter, who is 5 now, has been taking lessons with her all summer and her progress has been amazing. With Mersiha she learned real technique with the correct names of the strokes and body posture. At the beginning of summer my daughter wouldn’t leave my arms when we were in the pool. Now she is doing freestyle swim strokes and diving into the water confidently. She has also increased her confidence and discipline levels. I cannot recommend Mersiha highly enough. She is absolutely the best.
