I love this fast food place. I love the concept of eating cookout food on demand. The service is fast. The price is great. For two meals it’s less than 11 dollars and the food is good. I love the big double burger which I had for the first time today. The onion rings and shakes are good as well.

My mom said two words to me, «Cook Out.» I was like, «What is Cook out.» Then she said, «milkshakes!» Just from that, I can say that Cook Out does have some awesome milkshakes! I believe 36 to be exact. The Snickers and Strawberry Cheesecake are de-lish! We came back a second time and ordered actual food. If you order the regular burger, you will have to ask for what you WANT on it. I figured it would be easier to ask for what you don’t want b/c we all know what a standard burger comes with. The menu has a large selection to please anyone. The hushpuppies are the best! I would just go here to get a double order of them! The downside of this eatery is the custom service. Ordering by drive-thru was bit of a hassle. I asked for a moment and then a moment later I hear, «Go ahead with your order.» The voice box was very distorted. Plus the train passing by did not help. Once at the window, it felt as though our food was passed to us in a rush. The funny thing is, my wife went inside to place another tray order and she wanted a bag to carry the food in. The worker said that they are only given in drive thru. What? When we tried one of the shakes, we found out that it was the not the right flavor. In the end, we were very satified w/the food, especially the hushpuppies! fin.

Fast, good and greasy, what else can I ask? LOL A friend took me to eat there and I really loved the taste«Chicken cajun style» and I add cheese and bacon, really exquisite. Recommended I am from North Carolina and beyond coockout but there is also no doubt this is the best

Rudest cashier ever. No greeting. Did not even tell me my change. She should be happy she even has a job still being so short with customers. Shareonta was her name.

Great place to go if you don’t want exactly what you ordered. The staff is unprofessional and not very bright. I keep eating here because you get a good amount of food for the price. The service was great when they first opened but has gone significantly downhill. For example, when I went here a week ago, when I walked in, the cashier was talking to who I assumed to be her friend. She continued the conversation when we walked up, despite the fact the girl wasn’t ordering anything. That, to me, just screams unprofessional. I will say that time we went inside and out order was correct. It seems to only be wrong every time we go through the drive through. The amount of food you get for the money is good, but the quality and unprofessional service is the reason for only 2 stars.

I don’t usually write reviews, but in this case I felt compelled. I’ve been coming to this location since it opened, and the food is 100% on point. It’s always fast and fresh and my order always is correct. I’ve been to other local cookout restaurants and this one remains superior in my opinion. Great job!

For the money you can’t beat the deal. That’s all I have to say really. Best bang for your buck. Quality isn’t the best to me but it will do. I go here several times a week but that’s because it’s cheap so…

I decided to give this place a try during lunch hour rush today. They are very busy. Drive through is double stacked and inside the line doesn’t seem to stop. An old style fast food joint, this place rocks. Customer service was surprising! Friendly staff. Not your typical bored, tired, and grumpy staff like McDonalds or Burger King. Once my order was placed I was handed my ticket with my change. I found a table, and less then 2 minutes later I had food waiting. The food was delicious!!! True grill style hamburger patties, fresh bun, grilled onions and bacon. My quesadillas were hot, chewy, and filled with cheese. Milkshake is really thick home style shake. I’ll definitely be returning. I highly recommend this joint.

Milkshakes are great. The food. well you get what you pay for. It’s okay for cheap food. You get a bacon cheeseburger paying extra for the bacon. and I had half a slice of bacon on it. And you order sides with the meal and. most the time you get jipped. Ask for a side of onion rings and you get 2 or 3.

This is the only cookout location ive ever been to. Ive been here twice as I go to TCC and frequently buy lunch around the area. The first time I ate here I got a cheddar style hamburger. I didnt realize that it only had grilled onions, mayo, and cheddar cheese. It would have been ok I think if it actually came with mayo but they forgor it. Instead it was very plain and the bun was soggy. The second time I came I got the crispy spicy chicken sandwich(add cheese) and onion rings with fries. The chicken sandwich wasnt very crispy it seemed like it was microwaved. It also wasnt one but spicy. I felt like they gave me a reg chicken sandwich instead of the spicy chicken although my receipt clearly said«spcy chkn.» The fries werent seasoned and didnt seem that fresh although they had just opened. The onion rings were nice and crispy but a bit bland. Overall I am not impressed– it tasted like cafeteria food. They have a big menu and I may give them another shot but it wont be anytime soon.

Ate here for dinner last night. Great burger and fries. Chicken nuggets for the kids. No complaints here. Had drive through. Service was fast and friendly.

I believe people have an irrational fear of being ignored at a two-lane drive thru. This is the only explanation I can come up with for why they’re always empty. Cook Out is fairly new to Hampton Roads so the lines are crazy, spilling onto the busy streets. A situation like that can be avoided at this particular location because THEREARETWODRIVETHRULANES. So while six cars piled up in one line, I merged onto the empty one and had my order taken instantly. The burgers truly taste like a great homemade Fourth of July burger on the grill. The lettuce was actually crisp. I was impressed. I also had a spoonful of the seasonal eggnog milkshake. It was great, not amazing. I like Cold Stone shakes better. Cook Out’s cool, so long as there’s no ridiculous wait.

I love Cookout. The place has that North Carolina feel, and the Cookout Tray is the best bang for your buck. For 5 dollars and some change, you can get an entrée, two sides, and a drink, along with a dollar extra to substitute the drink for a milkshake, which are to die for.
