I love Big D. Well, he really isn’t really that big, but something in calling him«Big D.» makes him sound more like a Big Papa. That makes me happy, so I’m sticking that name to him. Dr. Donald Liang is awesome. Only 4 stars cuz of cost. I had gone to many orthodontist regarding braces and fixing my teeth. One thing you gotta understand about orthodontists is that if they are good, they are also perfectionists. I ran away from three other orthodontists before returning back to Dr. Liang’s office. He was recommended to me by a friend years ago. He helped my friend Cindy L. reconstruct the borders of her great wall of Cindy. Cindy had poor Chinese teeth walled out of China as well as barbarian teeth that were planning to invade. Under the care of General Donald V. Liang Cindy was able to save her mouth from a jacked smile. Yes, Dr. Liang is great. I needed the same greatness done to my teeth, but after I was told again that I might need orthognathic surgery to fix my under-bite I wimped out and became a fugitive for over six years. Last summer I was thinking and I decided to give orthodontic treatment another go. What got me to reconsider? I’m young and I want to get married one day. I was told by a Pastor when I was a young teenager that the best way to find the perfect someone is by first doing your best to be that perfect someone for someone else. When you think in terms of working on yourself it’s much easier than looking high and low for someone who satisfies your idea of perfect. Chances are the perfect someone is looking for a perfect someone for them self too. I want to give my husband and his family the best Mei-Ye both inside and out. I want to be well-balanced, principled, healthy, and beautiful in all ways. Dr. Liang turned out to be a childhood friend of my boyfriend’s father(who’s a dentist). I feel that Dr. Liang treats his patients with care. He remembers his patients years after they have completed their orthodontic treatment. When he asks you questions he seems genuine. Dr. Liang is a soft spoken man with a very gentle and caring touch. I did not believe Cindy when she said her treatment did not hurt. All the people who I’ve ever asked said that braces hurt. Now, I understand what she meant. «See, the trick is to trick nature,» he said. When you feel pain in your teeth and jaw from shifting on the teeth your body naturally sends out a signal and calcium gets sent to those teeth. This can cause the teeth to shift and move slower, prolonging your orthodontic treatment. Dr. Liang patiently told me that to get the best results we as patients need to do exactly what we are told and that is to be a patient patient. He assured me that moving the teeth too far too quickly and making the process an overly painful one was not the way. With that said I got my braces late July of 2008 and my teeth are shifting pretty well. I’m expecting my orthognathic jaw surgery from Dr. David Kung late this coming summer. My orthodontic treatment with braces should be finished by the end of this year or early in 2010. That’s about a year and a half of braces if things go as planned. That’s great for a person who had barbarian teeth and a Class III Jaw with an under-bite. Dr. Donald V. Liang works with his son Dr. Christopher Liang(read my review for him). They work out of three locations and the Friendship Heights office is one of them. They also have an office in Potomac and one in College Park. You can visit them at any of their three offices. I believe this location is Dr. Donald Liang’s main office. Unlike his Friendship Height’s office which has only photos of Dr. Blackwood(the other orthodontist that uses this office when the Liang’s aren’t), there are actually photos of Dr. Donald Liang and his son Dr. Christopher Liang. You’ll definitely like this office the most because it’s so clean, new, and modern. The office is very well lit and the waiting room has tons of magazines of all sorts. Sometimes, I’m like«Aw, already?» because I want to finish reading the magazines. There’s ample parking, and the office is in the same building as Bank of America. It is off of Falls and River Road so you can easily get here from 495 or 270. Across the road there is a gas station and a shopping center. Flaps( ), Safeway are closeby located in the Potomac Plaza S.C. This office is open the 2nd Saturday of each month and every other Mon and Wed, Tuesdays, and Fridays. As I sat reclining in the patient chair with my mouth opened I could not help but think to myself and laugh. I apologized, «sO-y, I kkkknt sOk lahhing.» He replies, «Are you laughing because you’re wondering what cruel person could have came up with such a cruel type of treatment?» He pauses and takes his tools out so I can answer. «No, I’n tinking adout how I’n goin’ to thhhhe deutithul.»
