Our whole family loves this bar/restaurant. It’s usually not very crowded, and there’s a big open space, so the kids can play pool or other games while the adults talk. Really comfortable sofas and chairs for watching games on TV. Food is yummy, although I miss the hand-cut fries they used to have. Great burgers, and the kids like the wings and chicken fingers. The only thing to be aware is the service can be slow — it’s a big space so you can’t always catch sight of your waiter. It never bothers us because we love the ambiance and relaxed vibe of the place. If you need to call to check whether it’s open, the number is 301−983−7000×0 — that’s the front desk of the hotel where the bar is located.

Had no idea about this place until a friend started working there. Loved it as soon as I walked in. A little pricey, but as part of a hotel, what would you expect. We had wings, then I had a crab cake sandwich and by husband had a mushroom Swiss burger. Both were really good. The vibe is great — big leather sofas, TV’s, free popcorn, outside patio, and table games. Ping pong, pool, shuffleboard, darts– it’s a great place to have some friends come and chill out for a day of watching sports, having a few beers, and playing games.

Recently spent two weeks at Bolger Center for training. Visited the Pony Express a couple times. Their pizzas are tasty. The use a cracker type crust and the ingredients are good. I had the Margharita pizza. Not to be missed are the home made chips. Get a appetizer plate of them. And try to eat just one. The two times I went in to this pub were quiet. Not a young rowdy crowd type place.

Defiantly a hidden gem. They’re under new management. The menu has salads, burgers, wings, sandwiches. I had the turkey burger which was moist with a really delicious cranberry chutney. This is a great place to watch sports and they have 2 pool tables.

I think we may have been here when something was going on with the staff or cooking team because we saw several tables complain about the long wait for their food and the manager eventually started walking around checking in and helping. Things just seemed a little off. Meals were included with our retreat but the Osgood Dining Room was closed on Friday night so they agreed to allow me to use my meal card for The Pony Express which seemed like a big exception that they were making. Our server was friendly. We had the chips and salsa which came with one kind of salsa instead of the two listed on the menu, and guacamole. It was all tasty and the chips were warm. We also had the BLT flat bread pizza which was much bigger than we expected but it also didn’t seem like what was on the menu– it was definitely a white crust– not a wheat crust as described on the menu, and it had flat leaf parsley sprinkled on it instead of arugula. The bacon was in too big strips for the pieces of pizza. It was good but not as described, and the hotel rooms don’t have refrigerators so we couldn’t take the leftovers with us. Overall we appreciated the friendly service and appreciated they honored the meal card, but things seemed a little bit off.

The Pony Express is hidden in the Bolger conferwnce center behind the reception area. Its huge with a great patio(with fire pit). They keep adding tvs to watch every game from sofa, the large bar or tables. Food is ok bar food including flatbread and burgers. The best part is happy hour 4 – 7 and game days where huge draft beers are $ 4 as are bar drinks. Perfect to sit outside with friends or waych multiple games. Kids welcome & free parking. Very friendly staff.
