Potrero Grub and Pub

Driving around East County, there are not many places to eat. Stopped in since it is right on the 94 and it was lunch time. Service is very friendly. Ordered the BBQ infused burger and at first thought it was ok. As I ate it, it got better. The sweet potato fries with the sauce was the bomb. The chili bowl was decent and it was a good size. A lot of Ballast Point beers on tap. A great place to stop in for lunch. By the way, there is sign out front stating cash only.

Came out on New Year’s Eve. I was mourning the loss of my dog a few days before, and my friend insisted I go out with her, even if I was going to cry the whole time. The owner was pleasant, she’s friends with my companion and even brought me some homemade chocolate treats as a sympathy gift. Fries were generous and good, and they accommodated my sandwich request. I asked for something that wasn’t on the menu, it was very tasty. It was a cheesy something with vegetables and avocado. One does not eat healthful food when you’re sad! The band was fun, and I’m happy someone took over this restaurant. I enjoyed myself and will definitely come back.

Best burgers they are so fresh and so good my husband and I are hooked we go once a week there chicken and waffles are awesome too!

This was the Potrero Café, it has been remolded/​renamed.
It is very nice inside, a cozy place like at grandma’s. The menu has a good variety for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
We stopped here after a night of camping at the near by Potrero County Park, a must if you have kids!
The cook came out and asked a few of the tables how their food was, that is way cool to see again, and actually seemed to care.
I had a bacon cheese burger, the burger patty was very very good, the bacon was a crumbled type, but still good. My son had chicken strips, 6 big strips, and fries. His portion of fries were double if not tripple of what mine were.
The service was a little slow, but it was completely understandable as it was a bit busy in there. It was a little pricey, but where else are you going to go…
I’ll be back next time we go camping!
