B & B Taxi

I read all the reviews and Bob seemed like the best option for me to take a cab from the Poughkeepsie station to my studio just above New Paltz, NY. I would be making this commute all summer, so I wanted a consistent service. (This would be good for both the business and myself!) I emailed in advance to get an accurate fare and then called when I was outside the train station. He was information on the phone, but said he was not currently available to take me. He said to make sure the cabbies in the front of the station didn’t rip me off. (Nice.)
When leaving my studio, I emailed an hour in advance with the address and cross streets. (My studio is in the woods and I knew it might be difficult to find.) He confirmed that he could pick me up at a certain time. The time came and went. I called and he said he could not find the location. He asked me to text him specific directions, which I did.
I waited… then messaged him again to say that I could take the later train. I received no response. Finally, I reached out to another service. To be courteous, I texted to cancel my ride with him. His response was, «I forgot about this a half hour ago.»
RUDE. UNRELIABLE. NON-​PROFESSIONAL.
First, I would never correspond via text, but this was what he had requested. Secondly, this is the phone number on his website, therefore this is the owner of the business’ personal cell phone. He was rude, unreliable and not professional. I would not recommend this service to ANYONE. Pay someone who knows how to run a safe, courteous business you can count on.

I’ve have nothing but great experiences with B&B. That said, I always allow for variability in life. The owner’s very honest and realistic in his time estimates. If he can’t get to you in a timely manner, he’ll let you know.
I think some of the negative reviewers have poor time management skills or unrealistic expectations… or both.

Amazing! In a snowstorm, arrived on time, delivered on time, and all for a very good price. Speedy but always safe, Bob was terrific and I don’t think any other taxi in Poughkeepsie is as friendly!

The worst dispatcher on the planet.
If I could give them zero stars I would.
I called for a taxi and the man was rude from the beginning. I didn’t know whether he got my phone number to call me back if a car was available.
I called again to find out, the dispatcher and told me I was interrupting his dispatching when I just called to find out if he had my number.
I canceled my order and called someone else.
This is a horrible company.

They have rude and reckless drivers!!!

Absolutely ridiculous. All I wanted was a simple ride from the bookstore back to my college. I called for a cab and he said he’d be by in about 5 – 10 minutes. I waited — no cab showed up. So I called again. Turns out the driver I called was over at the Verizon store and said he was calling me another cab. The other driver never showed up and I ended up calling another cab service altogether. I am extremely disappointed and I’ll use my school’s shuttle service to get around town from now on.

Appalled, honestly. Called hours in advance to get a taxi to the train. Taxi never showed up. I called long after they were supposed to show up, and they just said they couldn’t make it. I will never call this company again.

He was a no show. Had scheduled him ahead of time to pick up some clients and he failed to cancel. I called several times and he did not answer. Would not recommend.

Not good. Was supposed to pick me up at 8:15 for a train, called at 8:20 and asked if I still needed a taxi. (!!!) When I asked how late he’d be he wouldn’t give me an ETA (which I’m sure he had with a GPS). I told him forget it because honestly I wasn’t sure when/​if he’d show up. Had to inconvenience some folks for a last minute ride. Do not recommend.

Called 3 hours before I needed them just to be safe, settled on a time and place with no problem. I got worried on the phone because I was asking for an 11:00 pickup but the man on the phone kept saying 1, but the driver came on time (several minutes early actually) and was kind and courteous, I had no problems with these guys. I’ll be using them again!

He is the best taxi driver in New York :-D Choose him! He will pick up his phone anytime if he can.

45 min late. missed train. don’t know what I expected from a poughkeepsie cab company

I called B & B taxi and ordered a cab– he asked me to text him with my address and he would confirm. Well I texted him and HE NEVER got BACK to ME to confirm. I called him twice after that to see if he was coming at the scheduled time. It went straight to voice mail. I would never call him again… Bad business model

Absolutely incredible service!!! My husband and I were visiting Poughkeepsie this past weekend. Bob was incredible, really going the extra mile. He was upfront about how long he would be and how much the trip would cost. He arrived on time all 3 times we called him. He even gave us restaurant recommendations and suggestions for the surrounding area. Top notch service. There is absolutely no question of who to call when in Poughkeepsie, he is absolutely the best!

Bob is the best cab driver around: he’s reliable and just an all-​around genuine guy. He’ll tell you straight up if he can’t make it in time to pick you up (unlike a majority of cab drivers in Poughkeepsie). Highly recommend!

I called, based on good Unilocal reviews, and explained that a car rental agency driver hadn’t shown and i needed a ride to Amtrak. He screamed at me that the other driver was going to show up and I would «stick him.» I assured him that this wouldn’t be the case and was on the verge of offering a credit card number to guarantee and he slammed down the phone.

By far the BEST taxi service in town. Bob is friendly and professional! I have just moved here and i can say that this is who i am going to call whenever i need a taxi. I love B & B taxii servicee! Way to go! Taxi is very clean too!

I saw that this taxi service was highly recommended on Unilocal,so I decided to trust the positive reviews. I was extremely satisfied with everything. He was perfectly on time and is a very personable guy. Excellent service from a fantastic person I recommend him 100%, you won’t be disappointed.

Very good service. He might be late sometimes, but if that happens, he at least comes and doesn’t charge you for the ride. Really friendly guy who understands the value of customer service.

B and B is the most honest and helpful taxi service around. Great prices and speedy service, Bob and his company is the only taxi service you can trust. Always call them first if you need a taxi!!!
