I think she can sew anything special you might have. My husband needed a nylon strap sewed onto a sack he was going to use on a backpacking trip, and it came out perfectly. Even better she sewed it right there on the spot, saving us a trip back. I give her 5 out of 5 for sure!

I have been here three times. The first time I needed a lining put in a cardigan. She saw it and gave me a quote. I paid, and when I picked up the cardigan, while the work was very well done, she complained that she had not charged me enough because it turned out to be more work than what she had anticipated. I was in a few weeks later to have straps added to my daughter’s dress, for which I provided the fabric. She charged me a ridiculous amount of money, the idea being she had undercharged me for the last job. Not cool, but I didn’t say anything. So two weeks ago I asked her what it would cost to take my daughter’s skirt and copy it with other fabric which I would provide. We discussed how my daughter is tall, and it is difficult to find skirts that are not too short. We measured the skirt and discussed how much longer it should be. She wrote the length on the order receipt. I paid. Today I went to pick it up, and she had made the skirt the same length as the original. I pointed that out, she became irritated and said it was my fault for not telling her to make it longer, and if I had wanted it longer she would have put it on the receipt. She pulled out the receipt, saw that in fact she had written it down, and that it was her mistake. With nothing of an apology or expression of regret for having made a mistake, she continued to express irritation and said she would correct it by adding fabric to the bottom; she would not remake the skirt, and if I didn’t like it when I picked it up that was too bad because that was all she would do. I will not be going back.

I have been going to Cam’s Alterations in Poway for about 10 years now and she is absolutely the best for alterations, I bring both of my daughter’s prom and homecoming dresses here every year and she alters perfectly every time — highly recommend!!!

This place is a hidden gem. I was treated with such great service and I will definitely recommend this business to everyone. A week before my wedding I decided that I hated the bow and zipper on the back of my dress and I wanted it made into a corset like my bridesmaids. I found this place because I get my nails done next door. This place is located in the Oak Knoll Plaza that is hidden behind a liquor store and animal hospital. Cam, the owner has over 40 years of experience so I figured I could trust her. She took 3 days to do what everyone else told me they needed 3 weeks for. She did an AMAZING job to say the least. She turned the big dumb bow on the back of my dress to loops and corset using only the fabric from the bow. She was the nicest lady you will ever meet too. This woman went above and beyond for me. She gave me tons of options and her price was very good. I couldn’t wait to Unilocal this business!
