They Almost killed my wife that all I can say Giving birth they my do ok job but When it Comes to Surgery Go somewhere else Danger Zone thy have no clue

Terrible. My brother is in the ER here and not one member of the staff that I’ve seen has been welcoming, comforting or kind. It’s like they all are having the worst day ever, when in reality, some of these people in fact ARE having their worst day ever. The floors are gross and need to be swept. There is an IV bag/​tubing that has been used in the corner, and is very visible. Another 2 feet away is a cap for what looks like a syringe. The doctor didn’t introduce himself to my mother or myself. Actually no one did. Not one handshake or hello. My mother asked for a chair with a back on it and the nurse said he was pretty busy with 30 some odd other patients but he will try and see what he could do. He never returned with one. I am not at all impressed. They’ve done the basics and covered their bases in providing care, but nothing was extraordinary. The gal that did his dressing was upbeat and kind. Every thing and everyone else at this place was drab and monotone. Go Sharp at any cost. I actually enjoy my doctors visits there!
Also, the parking situation in the ER? What, there’s like maybe 15 spaces.

We just received a 1^st birthday card from the NICU nurses, whom we haven’t seen in nearly a year! They went above and beyond and I’m so grateful to have found this hospital to give birth at.

I had my first and only child there! They were awesome. I was allowed 3 days after birth to recuperate and I was allowed to spend the entire first night w/​my daughter b/​c they encourage skin-​to-​skin contact. However, that didn’t mean that my fiancée and I weren’t afforded a much needed nap during the second night. I am unable to breastfeed due to medication issues and I have anxiety issues which they were more than accommodating for. I felt as if I were among trusted associates as opposed to complete strangers and I could not have asked for a better experience. Even the food wasn’t that horrible (and I am disgustingly picky w/​my meals!). If I could I would dock ¼ a star due to the confusing parking (I had to go there once b/​c of prenatal high BP) but that’s a small price to pay for such amazing employees and a great experience during your first live birth!

I had surgery at Pomerado Hospital this past Friday. I had a wonderful experience. Everyone from admittance to discharge was wonderful. My admittance nurse was great, very caring and good at explaining what was or going to happen. Pre-​op was good. Surgery nurses were very good. Post-​op as wonderful and very caring. The nurses in Ortho were fabulous. Salute to them. Everyone was very caring. Their medication regiment was excellent at controlling pain. My nurses were so good with the IV that I have no marks on my arms that I had even had an IV.
My room was on the small side, but I had a private room which was much larger than if I had been in a semi-​private. Very quite atmosphere.
Everything was nice and clean. Even the food was good, which cannot be said about many hospital food.

I would give the hospital NO STARS. The doctors and nurses are TERRIBLE people.
I went into urgent care having horrible anxiety and a slight ear infection.
The Doctor I had was EXTREMELY rude. He tone of asking if I did drugs was insulting. Asked if my job drugs tests me regularly. I’ve never touched a drug in my life! He then started to accuse me of being an alcoholic, stating I must drink a lot to get rid of my anxiety. I was already almost hyperventilating, this just made it worse.
I’ve never had ANY history of anxiety.
I then got blood tested and I had the most RUDE nurses. They must have seen my great grand mothers ring on my ring finger and assumed I was married. I have extremely visible veins and the first nurse could not find my vein. She left me with a HUGE bruise and I can barely move my arm. Before she started on another vein I forwardly told I was not married or engaged and in fact single. She got awkward and got another nurse to take my blood.
DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL. My mother has had terrible experiences in the past and I am SHOCKED of how poorly they treated me.

Worst emergency room ever! The nurse on night duty, Eric B was having a staring completion with me when o asked him how Much longer I would have to wait because I had come in because of anxiety attacks and they were progressively getting worst. This was just the beginning of the awful night. Will never come back here.

It’s been over a year and a half and still dealing with my hospital bill. Their billing tactics are super shady. I barely pushed out my baby and they were already calling me asking for my credit card to pay the bill and they hadn’t even billed my insurance yet!
I politely asked for an itemized bill first and when they mailed it, they had mistakenly billed me an extra night. Called back to get it fixed, they sent me an updated bill. By then, they already submitted my insurance and my EOB doesn’t match my bill. Been going back and forth with the billing department and everyone keeps giving me bullshit answers about why the numbers don’t match. Even recently when they promised to mail me the updated itemized bill, it’s still wrong! The worst part of all this, is they received more from my insurance company (according to the EO) than they should have and didn’t fix my invoice and want to collect on more money from me.

We arrived at 11:15 am. It’s now 5:45 pm. The RN has been in the room twice and the Dr has been in 3 times. They can’t determine the cause of the pain so they are going to discharge my niece. Last time it took 3 ER visits before they determined the cause and then she had to be hospitalized! What a waste of time.

This is the worst hospital on Earth by far. My mom has been in and out of the hospital for years now and I have experienced almost every hospital in San Diego. This one is the dirtiest. It has the most rude and incompetent nurses that I was ever encountered. I am speaking of the Urgent care and ICU. My mom was in an induced coma for a week and came out with her hair disgusting. It was in the biggest knot that I have ever seen. She also contracted staph infection. The nurses were so mean. They don’t take good care of their patients. They also spoke to my mother like a child. I’ll make sure she does not come here again.
Well my mom ended up having to cut all of her hair off to do this hospital not taking care of her while she was in a coma!
Worst hospital on Earth. If you care about your loved ones please do not come here.

I had a awesome experience at emergency room today… dr and all the nurse staff was very sharp… best er experience ever in my life…

This review is for the birth center.
Due to changing insurance, I had given birth at UCSD and Sharp before ending up at Pomerado for my third child. Out of the three, Pomerado was the best, hands down. The nurses there were all sweet (especially Arzu!!) and never, not once, was I made to feel like a bad/​irresponsible person for opting out of things I had the right to opt out of.
The room was nice and had a birthing tub in it. (A nice actual bathtub; not a rubber one) I was able to stay in the room I gave birth in and it was nice and quiet.
If you have to give birth in a hospital, I highly recommend seeing Dr Cobb and delivering at Pomerado.

I can’t speak for every department in the hospital, so this review is of the baby delivery and birthing center. Pomerado hospital has a small, maybe 10 room, baby delivery center. All the rooms are private and have beautiful views. Each room is large and has a huge corner bath tub. It’s not only for water births, but also just to relax from prolonged labors. My wife had 19 hours of very hard labor… the warm bath at hour 10 gave her the rest she needed for this ultra endurance labor.
The center is small, so you get SOOOO much attention from the nurses and staff. They even provide a nice formal celebration dinner for mommy and daddy, right in the comfort of your room. Everything happens in your room… labor, delivery, testing, consults… it’s really comfortable.
I don’t care if you live an hour away or in temecula like we do, It’s worth it to go here. Our guests were treated well when they came to visit our new baby, lots of easy parking… I can go on and on. Just have your baby here. And if you can, choose Dr Cobb as your ob/​gyn.
Also, the volunteers at pomerado are great! They give you lots of cute presents like a hand sewn beanie and a little hand made puppet… plus lots of information and goodies.
The daddy sleeping sofa chair isn’t the most comfortable, but after 30 hours of activity, i could sleep on camel’s back.

Dr nelkin is horrible he rolled his eyes at me when I was explaining my lupus situation. I was admitted for one hr and got sent home even tho i had excrutiating pain in my abdomen turned our to be gallstones and he didn’t do anything to treat it. Gave me oxycodon of 5 mg for pain when I have 10 mg at home and weren’t helping. I will never go there again.
Why would they admit me and release me after an hr.
Another horrible emergency dr is dr Buitenhuys be did nothing to treat my lupus chest pain not even offer me Tylenol. He called me a drug seeker.

All hospitals are good when they deliver your fifth grandchild safely and treat the family well!!!

Being a new mommy, I did tons of extensive research when planning where to deliver my baby last year. My close friend highly recommended Pomerado Hospital as she had a great natural birth experience here. After consulting my OB doctor, Dr. Cobb, I was fully convinced this is where I wanted to deliver.
Compared to Mary Birch, their C-​section rates are much lower. It’s a smaller, more intimate hospital and the rooms feel like «home.» They also value the golden hour, where the baby gets put on the mommy, skin to skin, for the first hour after it’s born, completely uninterrupted time. Also the baby stays in your room the WHOLE time you are there at the hospital. The rooms are spacious and some have bath tubs, which is a big plus! You get to bring candles, dim the lights, any music of your choosing – they are very flexible with your wishes. The staff are super nice and friendly. My nurse even gave me a baby blanket that she made herself and a stuffed animal. And one of the volunteers gave me a baby beanie that she had knitted herself. I really felt welcomed and a part of their «family» while I was there. More importantly, Dr. Cobb and Dr. Kohatsu are the best doctors around! Since Dr. Cobb was on vacation when I delivered my baby, Dr. Kohatsu took over (who also works with him at the Poway Women’s Care in Rancho Bernardo — highly recommended for prenatal visits BTW). She is so sweet and professional and really cares about you and your experience. She also has a very calm manner which made me feel at ease.
The only reason I have to deduct a point is because the billing department isn’t very organized. They came in on three separate days, asking me to pay a deductible of $ 300 when my insurance actually covered everything 100% and I didn’t have a deductible. I kept telling them that and asked them to double check, but each time, a new person would come in the room harassing me. Finally, it wasn’t until the last day when I was leaving and I complained, that they finally apologized and told me I was right.
Overall, this hospital is the best around and highly recommended! I had a wonderful birth experience and so glad I chose Pomerado!
Oh, and it has free parking too!

First time I went here it was good.
Second time they were rushed. I was in severe pain and the doctor was lecturing me bout my primary care doctor.
I will not be going back here.
They didn’t even find out what was the cause of my pain. No ct scan, no MRI nothing. Did not even discuss my blood work or urine results.

Being 3 days after my baby was born, I’m sure that the best part about my appendix bursting is that I had gotten taken to this hospital. I had emergency surgery that day and was up and walking the very next day. My nurse (Megan) was always great, patient and very kind and always was very encouraging when it came to my recovery. She’d even make me laugh so hard even though my stomach hurt but I couldn’t help it, and that made me feel a lot better as well and let me see the bright side of things. I got out of the hospital feeling so much better after only 4 days in! It was amazing because my doctor (Moore) told me a lot of people try to stay in the hospital for that same procedure for 2 to 3 weeks he got me out and home quickly so that I could be with my newborn son. I thank everyone there so so so much and all of the volunteers did a wonderful job in helping me recover as well!

BOO-​YAH!!!

Unfortunately (or fortunately because is kind of close to me) I have been an assiduous patient or I have been accompanying people to this hospital for different reasons and visiting different doctors and the treatment has always been excellent. The facilities are great, modern, clean, spacious and there is plenty of parking.
This hospital serves so many patients, mostly from Rancho Bernardo, Poway, Carmel Mountain and Rancho Penasquitos area and has been improving a lot since I have been going there (at least 10 years I would say). Kudos to the volunteers doing excellent job too.

First off I know being in a hospital is the worst, but if you have to be in one come here for your care! I brought my grandma here on Saturday and as soon as you walk into the ER a staff member comes to YOU personally and takes you to a counter which best fits your need. And I may add this particular ER looks like a five star hotel lobby! It’s gorgeous, has fabulous décor, and is not all crazy loud/​chaotic like most emergency rooms. And the best part is once you get taken back you get your own room! Yes you heard right, your own room! No more drape looking partitions and hearing your neighbor throwing up… All the nurses here gave great care and we’re very informative on updates. The doctor was good for the most part, but took way too long to come up himself to update us. If the doctor had been more efficient on time I would of given the hospital five stars. Too bad the doctors don’t give as great care as the nurses.
This hospital also has a great cafeteria, Starbucks, save on/​gift shop, and a chapel is soon to come!
