Poway Bicycle

Came in when there was an issue with my son’s bike. The mechanic was helpful and quick.
I thought the rates were reasonable and they had some lower end parts which was good.
Cost 35 in total to replace the fly wheel.
Good place.

I have been waiting for a local bike shop since the last one in Poway was well over 10 years ago. Great service, great prices and great selections on parts and accessories. I was looking specifically for a Night Rider Pro Series 1800 lumen light which is impossible to find anywhere, well guess what Poway Bicyle had it in stock at a rock bottom price. I highly suggest shopping at this shop. Ask for Luis he knows his stuff!

Poway Bicycle is the Best shop around. Their customer service is out of this world every time i walk in there I am greeted Instantly. All of the employees are very helpful and never try to up sell you on something you do not need, and if they don’t have it Luis Keith or Aaron will gladly order it for you. I did some research and their service prices are also the lowest around town. They also do shop rides Thursday nights and Saturday mornings that are a blast, the whole group is super friendly and welcomed me in like family I wont be going anywhere else!

5 stars? I trust Unilocal,so I brought my bike down to Poway Bicycle to get an estimate on how much it would cost to put new tires and a tune up on my Trek. The guy quoted me approx 200.00. He then proceeded to state that he could just sell me a new bike because mine was not worth fixing. Yesterday — I took it down to the Trek shop in Solana and they’re going to put new tires, tune up, brake pads, etc for 120.00! And they told me how cool my older Trek was — they were happy I was fixing it vs. purchasing a new bike. The 5 star person at Poway must’ve been out to lunch when I arrived. No thank you! Never wasting my time on that place again.

I have been in the shop several times to purchase a few items and have been impressed with their level of knowledge and especially their willingness to just chat about cycling. I decided to have my Ellsworth serviced there. They did a nice job and were very transparent about pricing and called to confirm a couple of repairs and replacements they suggested. After I took it out for a first ride on Saturday morning, the rear dérailleur was terrible after the first few miles. It was phantom shifting in nearly every gear and I could not dial it in. I emailed them early and they responded with a few minutes to bring the bike in. I took the bike back in the same day and they diagnosed it to a bad cassette. They installed a new XT cassette at no labor cost with a significant component price discount. There was no arguing and no need to convince them to fix the problem. They jumped right in, found the problem, and implemented the right solution within 20 minutes. Overall, it was a great customer service experience. The phantom shifting is completely gone and the bike is like new!

I Unilocaled local bicycle shops around the area and decided to give this place a shot, especially since it was nearby my girlfriend’s place. Luis and Keith were very helpful with bike info and helping my girlfriend and I make selections. Note we arrived close to closing on a Saturday, but yet they were friendly and welcoming despite having a long day. Even though they had a limited supply of bikes, Luis was able to let me try out a bike that met my budget and fit all the major aspects I was looking for. Also, Luis helped me choose a different bike seat at a decent price. While my girlfriend and I were checking out additional bikes, Luis was kind enough to let my girlfriend’s son test drive some bikes. I ended up walking out with two solid bikes.
After bringing the bike home and riding it for a little bit, I realized it was a tad bit too tall. I called back and they were kind enough to let me try out another size (54 cm), which was just right; no problems making the trade. That same day, I bought some accessories due to the quality customer service they provided during both visits.
I will definitely consider Poway Bicycles for my future bicycle needs, and definitely recommend it to others (especially around the area) because of their helpful attitudes and friendly demeanor.

We were out on our tandem bike and got a flat. :(Googled Poway Bike shop and they popped up. Called for help and the person cheerfully invited us to come in and said they’d take care of it right away. At first I wasn’t happy with the bike mechanic who seemed really unhappy to be working on my bike. He was slamming tools around and cussing until I confronted him and then he quickly fixed the tire and lubricated the chain and apologized. He said he was hungry for lunch and that made him grouchy. Price was less than quoted and very reasonable. We’ll be back.

I have just started using Poway Bicycle. I needed to get my two mountain bikes tuned up after some beating in the mountains around here.
It was a very nice experience with transparent pricing and competent service. All was done in one day.

Went in to the shop for the first time today, met Louie and was very happy with my visit. He let me and my 2yr old sit and sample bikes while ours was being worked on. Nice clean shop, good fast service, I knocked one star off just because it seemed a little pricey but I will definitely be back for parts service and maybe little mans next ride Thanks for the help!

Great customer service and great deals! Louie was very helpful with recommendations and helping me find a great bike for my wife. He was able to get me a quality bike that I felt good about and that my wife loves. I am already planning to take my cruiser in to have some upgrade work done on it. Fantastic locally owned bike shop. Highly recommend!

I kept having an issue with tubes blowing out. come to find out that it was a lose spoke. Keith at the shop replaced not 1 but 2 tubes and trued my wheel on my transportation. customer for life. thanks keith

Super nice, new little shop in Poway. Great service, good selection. I got my road bike service done there; feels like a new bicycle. Louie let me test drive a couple cruisers and answered a lot of questions about various bikes they have in the shop. Will keep coming back

My bike had a flat tire, so needed some help getting it replaced. Also asked for a tune up since I’ve had some weird issues with my gears slipping.
They made it easy to drop it off and pick it up, very little hassle and no wait time.
After the tune up at Poway Bicycle my bike feels better than ever, it’s never felt this good even after first buying it. So thanks a lot and I’ll be back next time!

Google search needing a special size bike tire on Sunday afternoon. Called them and although they were closed, they waited 20 minuets for me and sold me what I needed. That is called above and beyond service.

Finally Poway has a bike shop again! This place is exactly the kind of no-​hype, zero pressure, good guy local bike shop that has been missing in Poway for a while. They have a full range of bikes at amazing prices, that still have quality Shimano/​SRAM components. Bikes include: road, cyclocross, commuter/​hybrids, FS mountain, 29ers, 650b bikes, little kids bikes…& components/​accessories… Basically everything. Their Mechanic Aaron has been wrenching on bikes for over 20 years, it’s obviously his passion, & it shows. Any of the bikes listed above, he can fix/​rebuild and bring back to life. I saw him working on a $ 5000 carbon Italian road bike one time, another a 1972 vintage bike, another a brand new complicated full suspension Mountain Bike. (You can’t believe how intricate the inner workings of a suspension fork are when torn down.) The man is a Bike Guru.
With the combination of a mechanic of that caliber, great prices, diverse selection, & the personal service/​good guy feel you receive from the business owner Louie, you can’t beat this place!
