Dells Homemade Ice-Cream & Coffee

My favorite thing about Dells is the coffee. Quite good! My children enjoy the ice cream. Unfortunately, I am medically unable to tolerate gluten, and neither the staff nor the manager/​owner were able to tell me confidently which ice cream flavors were gluten-​free. Typically with homemade ice cream, you’re safe as long as you avoid the obvious: cookie bits and dough, pie crust, graham crackers, etc. Sadly, though, there is just no guarantee and it isn’t worth it to me to take any chances.
I can’t help but wonder if this ice cream is homemade, why don’t we have more information about the ingredients in each flavor? And besides gluten, what about customers who are allergic to nuts or eggs or anything else?

If you have 30 minutes to wait for a milk shake then this is the place for you. That’s all.

Delicious homemade ice cream. Some of the best I’ve had in the greater Columbus area in fact. They used to give generous portions but over the summer serving size has gotten very small (think half of a single of Jenis) so it’s not our go to place anymore.

toasted coconut is seriously AMAZING! super creamy ice cream is made right in the store. also fantastic is the frozen hot chocolate. they also have drive thru for when i need a coffee or milkshake on the run.

Even though Dell’s is less than two miles from my house, I didn’t know about it until I stumbled upon it here on Unilocal.And boy, am I glad I did! Located just past Iacono’s on Dublin Road, Dell’s has a quaint exterior. Billed as an ice cream and coffee shop, I stopped by for a scoop after dinner.
The interior is quite simple, only a few tables and chairs. Chalkboard menus display coffee and ice cream options. A smaller menu selection, but there should still be something for almost everyone. The service was good. It is apparent that this is a great summer job option for high schoolers, so service was as I expected.
I opted for a scoop of Campfire in a waffle cone. No description of the Campfire flavor was listed, but it turned out to be just what I thought: Vanilla ice cream with chocolate chunks, marshmallows and a few toasted almonds for a little crunch. The ice cream was delicious! The vanilla was rich and creamy and I really enjoyed the crunch of the almonds. The waffle cone was pretty standard, though. Not as warm and comforting like the one’s Jeni’s makes. My Pa really enjoyed his scoops of Caramel Chocolate Covered Pretzel and Mint Chocolate Chip as well.
A walk-​up window and drive-​thru really add to the establishment, although I wish there was more outdoor seating. The one picnic table was full as we were leaving at 8:15pm. All in all, I would definitely return, especially in the morning to try their coffee selection. A great addition, since there are pretty much no other coffee options in the area!

Monday-​Thursday: 6:30am-9pm
Friday: 6:30am-10pm
Saturday: 8am-​10pm
Sunday: 8am-​9pm

Dell’s just happens to be within walking distance for us and after trying for the first time, I see many evening walks for ice cream in our future.
The staff was kind enough to offer samples, which was a great help for my picky 3 year old. He thought he wanted green ice cream, but it turned out that mint was just a little too sophisticated for his palate. In the end, he went with blue — the Cotton Candy, scooped to perfection and adorned with little candy eyes, which made my son light up.
Mommy and Daddy (and baby) split a waffle cone with two generous scoops — one each, Caramel Chocolate Covered Pretzel and Peanut Butter Cup. A great combination, but looking forward to sampling Brutus and more during our next visits, sure to happen soon.
Dell’s will be a regular treat for our family all summer long. Walk up, walk in, or soon drive through! With the drive-​thru coming soon, we’ll be able to enjoy this treat (and maybe some coffee, too) year-​round! What a perfect addition to the Shawnee Hills area!

Creamy ice cream. Cozy place. This is just in bad location, away from traffic. But once customers tries their ice cream and other cold beverage, I am certain they will do well. It’s our my first time here with kids and they like it.

We stopped in Dell’s for an after dinner treat for our kids, and it was a treat for all! Their ice cream was the best we’ve had in a long time. Very creamy and delicious! My kids had the chocolate and the cotton candy. Of course I had to try theirs! I’m always a fan of regular ol’ chocolate and this one was definitely yummy! My oldest daughter always chooses cotton candy so I’ve sampled hers from a lot of different places — this one by far was the best! It tasted very natural… didn’t taste like over-​done, chemically cotton candy (if that makes sense). I actually wanted more! I had their Brutus flavor, chocolate with real peanut butter in it. I died. It was awesome! My husband had Strawberry and it was so fresh and had strawberries in it. Yum!!! We can’t wait to go back!

This new ice cream /​coffee parlor in Shawnee Hills is delightful. The staff are friendly and the ice cream — divine! The vanilla ice cream in a waffle cone is the best I’ve ever had. On our second trip, I enjoyed the hot chocolate and it was super chocolatey and yummy too! My husband and 2 kids are asking every night if we can go.
My husband really enjoyed the butter pecan flavor. My daughter has a tough time deciding if she likes the coffee or the chocolate better. My son likes trying something different every chance and so far the cotton candy flavored ice cream is his favorite.
Affordable, great service, great selection, high quality, comfy atmosphere, what more could you ask for?!

Nice little surprise in Shawnee Hills. Coffee, tea and ice cream! I had a mocha and the kids had ice cream– cookies and cream and cotton candy. Delicious!

My taste buds have died and gone to heaven. The chocolate pecan is the best ice cream I have ever had. The service was extremely friendly.

I stopped here yesterday and took home some ice cream. This was the first day they were open. The staff is still finding their way. Hey, it was their first day. The ice cream was delicious. I will go back. Having ice cream this good, this close to where I live is going to be dangerous.

I had the best cup of coffee this morning from Dell’s. Smooth, not bitter and excellent flavor. They have almond milk, too. That’s a first for me in Columbus. I hear they’re also putting in drive up window. Awesome for morning coffe. I’m so happy there is a good source for coffee and ice cream in the area!
