We specialize in building the finest, most luxurious outdoor structures available. From decks to pergolas to gazebos, we build it all and you may choose from a variety of woods including exotics or maintenance free materials like Trex or Guardeck. With over 30 years of experience, you can rest assured that you project will be completed with expertise and over engineering. Inspectors tell me «good job» all the time. I love what I do because I consider myself an artist first and a builder/​designer/​contractor second and I take great satisfaction in creating beautiful designs that customers love and appreciate. Their smiles, when they see the finished product is reward enough but we do all have bills to pay so I can’t work for free but I would venture to say I stay within the cost ranges of other builders. I know how to do jobs better than most and I don’t cut corners. I feel that a luxurious outdoor living area is one of the greatest things people can do to enhance their lifestyle.

History

Established in 1982.

I started in new home construction as a young man. I moved to Los Angeles when I was 27 and installed custom kitchens in Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Malibu, and the Hollywood Hills. There was a significant amount of remodeling involved with this as well. I also built some very nice one of a kind custom homes up in the hills. I worked on Pickfair which is the home that Douglas Fairbanks built for Mary Pickford and presented to her while opening a jewelry box with a huge «rock» and saying «Will you marry me?» The house had become frail due to dry rot and termite infestation. The owner of the Belagio Casino in Las Vegas bought the property and hired the company I worked for to tear down the original house and rebuild it to the exact same dimensions with the exception of adding an elevator as the house was four stories. With all of that experience, I feel that I have a creative advantage. I worked in commercial construction for five years and finally came full circle back to decks.

With well over 1000 decks built, I have the experience to build the best deck possible. I do many little things that most other deck builders have never even thought of. For example, a nominal size of framing lumber comes in slightly different widths. I take the taller joists and put them in the center of the deck and graduate the next smaller sizes towards the outside. This simple technique insures that the deck will remain smooth and water will head towards the outside. Another thing most builders do is build on 16″ centers. Not me! I divide the length and place joists so that they all are spaced evenly throughout the deck. This eliminates two joists being closer together at the end of the layout as well as makes the deck a little bit stronger. Nail or screw patterns are even as well. It’s another simple step that I take to do the best job possible. I am a problem solver and I love what I do. With that being said, one might argue that I never «work» a day in my life
