Granite Mountain Brewing

First time here and it won’t be the last! Met the owner and the master brewer and got to visit with them since it was a Thursday afternoon and not very busy. We all loved their Blonde beer. Have to go back and try the others soon!

My wife and I don’t get to get out of town very often, but Prescott has become a place that kind of has it all for us. Great scenery, unique restaurants, and cozy hotels. One of the most important places on our list though is GMB. After our first visit a year and a half ago we finally got to come back, and it didn’t disappoint.
The Beer:
I’m pretty sure we tried all the beers except the blonde, and out of the choices my wife loved the Wee Heavy the best, and myself the brown ale (Which is really something special).Another highlight was the Agave collaboration beer between the Prescott breweries.
The Ambiance:
Outside of the beer the environment is great, with games and relaxing places to sit and enjoy a cold one. On top of that the gal, and I feel horrible for not getting her name, who helped us with our frothy beverages had a wonderful personality and we spent a bit of time just chatting.
We visit a lot of breweries and this is one of those hidden gems that is worth your time. Cheers!

If you live microbrews, you must stop here. Very friendly and knowledgeable owner was willing to recommend and describe all of the wonderful choices. Very cute space. No food. Stop here before and after lunch and dinner. Try the Mayhem Bucket Brigade smoked porter and the Yank English Brown. Both fantastic.

Great place to hang out on a cool afternoon in Prescott. Good beer, decent wine, couches for the adults, toys for the kids.

Really cool place! Low key and hip! GREAT beers! Isabelle the bartender is awesome! Fun chatter and music. Great selection with small glasses to taste all the beers before you commit to your new favorite. We’re from Las Vegas and we’ll be back.

Isabelle is terrific. We came in after a long day shopping at the art fest. It was incredibly busy and there was no music and the place was kinda, well, energy-​less. Isabelle made it happen and got the music fixed and going. After that, the place started hopping and people were really having a great time! Great beer, great vibes! Thanks, Isabelle!

I was planning a surprise party and Granite Mountain Brewery was so kind and helpful. They allowed us to use their patio with no reservation charge.
The prices are so reasonable and beer was delicious. The food our party ordered got rave reviews.
At the end of the evening the owner popped back to the patio to check on us and was kind and upbeat.
The bar was very busy (it was a Friday night) but everyone inside seemed to be having a great time.
I will be returning soon and hopefully planning more events at the brewery.

Great beer, great beer tender. Makes total sense that the owners are from Alaska, as was the Beertender. Opens a little late 4pm. No food.

Sometimes it’s the service that sets you apart from the rest. After a horrible experience down the block at Prescott Brewering we came here. We split a beer and fell in love with amazing staff. They were so nice to my service dog it was a breath of fresh air. They asked to great her and even noticed she might have a bur in her ear from our earlier hike. The minute we sat down they brought her a bowl of fresh water and kept it full our entire visit. Now, we only had one beer, played a few games of uno before we headed home to Mesa but this brewery will be our favorite in Prescott for their kind treatment of our service animal. Thanks again for the wonderful visit.

Great service. Love the décor and loved my IPA. Our bartender was awesome. She may be the owner/​mgr not sure. She was busy but kept it together. Great place to stop in and have a beer.

This place was comfortable and inviting. A beer drinkers coffee shop. We stopped in on a hot and languid Saturday when nothing seems real. Prescott itself feels like a birds nest built into the cavity of a mountainous crown, everyone walking around in an afterlife daze, wondering «have I seen him before»? These limp sticks of conjecture that lend themselves to a flight of pales, browns, stouts, sours, lagers and meads. For the flights there’s a dry erase card to pick from and mark as your pallet desires, and as the brewers allow. A sip of this, a sip of that, talk about flavors, talk about crap, the beer gets the bubbles popping, untangles our fishy whiskers, replaces the gas that’s been spent in the ascent. Windex the vanity, wipe it clear, how’d all this just appear? Oh right, everyone’s home town, everyone’s fear, but she’s actually from here, isn’t that queer? Besides all of that there are sandwiches and did I say beer?

Small barrel operation with solid beers. These guys are hustling, and it’s worth the trip. If you’re near Prescott and are craving the spirit of Mother Road, try this place out.

We have been coming here since they opened. A great place with friendly people and most importantly great beer. Come on in and have a pint or two!

The Blueberry Spaceship Box Cider is amazing! Quiet little bar with neat local art on the walls and excellent small batch brews. They even have mead! Bartender Sean was laid back yet attentive and the handful of guests here were an eclectic mix. Ill definitely be back next time I’m in town.

This is a fun chill little bar on Whiskey Row.
I ordered some mead, since it sounded interesting, and I had never tried it. It was $ 10.50 but a delicious mead, and from Arizona. My sister ordered a cream ale and enjoyed it. She also used the Unilocal check in for the coupon of $ 1 off.
I am unsure what the food menu entails; we had already eaten elsewhere.
There were board games throughout and comfortable seating to play a game. We played Scrabble for a while.
The bartenders were efficient, knowledgeable and friendly.

What a great little brewery on Whiskey Row in Prescott! My sis and I ended up there on a Thursday evening, which happened to be «Duff» night. I got a pint of their choosing for only $ 3 (and an additional $ 1 off for checking in on Unilocal — thank you!), and it ended up being the Cowtipper Cream Ale. The ale was a perfect end to my day.
The bar was a good size, and they had some additional things on tap. They also offer mead from Superstition, which was cool to see local breweries supporting one another. The bar also has a small menu, but we had just eaten so we didn’t try anything.
The bartenders were both super friendly, and the vibe was chill. They also had some games up front, so my family and I played some old school Scrabble (apparently playing Words With Friends has given me NO skills when it comes to Scrabble — my mom kicked our butts).
Loved this place, and I definitely recommend stopping in. Don’t forget to check in on Unilocal

Went there for the first time today. I thought their beer and also their food was excellent !! Nice comfy place. I will definitely return again. .maybe again on this trip! If you like a small personal place to experience Great beer and delicious Food.. I recommend this place!

A brewery can live or die on one thing: whether or not they are able to throw out a beer that went bad in the brewing process. The sour beer they currently have on is a mix of prickly pear and stomach bile. This is not a sour beer, it is an infected beer.
I gave 2 stars because I’d be willing to try again, based on a friend’s recommendation that sometimes they have good beer.

The beer was good, but not the best. However, I LOVED the brewery itself. The was a long bartop with a sensuous curve to it made from beautiful wood shellac’d to a high shine. The stools were comfy and a footrest below made them even more so. Great mood lighting with white light fixtures made from bottles and other found objects. On the opposite wall from the bar was some lower seating. Comfy couches and chairs with glass top tables looked perfect for groups or couples wanting a little private area. On the walls was an eclectic collection of art, most of which appeared to be for sale. The music was subtle and not blaring and overall it was just a really relaxing environment. My hubby said that it was a «girl bar». I can see why since it sort of felt more like a wine bar than your typical brewery. I’m told it does get a little more upbeat later in the evening (we were there around 5−6pm).
We didn’t try the food since we were meeting family for dinner later but I did get a beer sampler. Here are my thoughts on what I tried.
Bradshaw Blonde Ale — this tasted more like a lager or pilsner to me than an ale. Very light, very clear. Not really a whole lot of flavor. I’d probably be a good choice for a summer afternoon in the sun.
Hot Shot American Red Ale — pretty dark in color for a red, this was a bitter hoppy beer with a bit of sweetness to it. It grew on me as I drank it, though and I have to say I’d order it again.
Thumb Butte American Brown Ale — I thought I’d like this better than I did based on the description. My palate couldn’t really pick up the chocolate and caramel very well. It did have a very toasty flavor to it that was nice.
Pulaski Porter — Always love a good porter. This one had that pleasant slightly bitter black coffee taste to it. Perhaps just a bit too bitter.
Muddy Wash Milk Stout — This one was a bit of disappointment to me. Usually I love a good milk stout. This one just did not have the right texture to it. I did taste the sweetness from lactose but there was no creaminess to it. It was too dry basically. Description said it had less hops then Guiness but I don’t think that is true just based on taste since I also thought this one was just slightly too bitter.
Juniper Mesa Rye Pale Ale — I saved this one for last, expecting to hate it but to my surprise this ended up being my favorite. I usually don’t go for pale ales at all since I just can’t tolerate that much hoppy flavor. But in this case, even though the hops were there for sure, they were toned down and balanced out by the spicy citrus notes in the beer. Description said there was some juniper as well and I could for sure taste that, too. I guess maybe this is a good beer for a gin drinker? It sort of reminded me of Magic Hat’s #9 beer… which they describe as a «not quite pale ale» I look forward to drinking this one again.

What a great little find just off the main square in Prescott!
This little micro brewery, we were told, is a community project (which is awesome). My Mom and I stopped in, like Stewart, on Mothers day. Their bar top is beautiful, and has plenty of seating. They also have a bunch of little couch areas, great for bigger groups. Our bartender was very, very nice and gave us a few samples to try before we picked our actual beers. My Mom tried a small Muddy Wash Milk Stout. It was a little heavy for her, but she liked it, as did I since I got to finish it. It seemed a bit on the lighter side, but still very good. I had a Thumb Butte American Brown Ale. This, was very very good. I was expecting to get more chocolate from it than I did, but was impressed that the caramel came thru more.
They also have live music here! Now, if youre stopping in for a pint and youre not from Prescott, be prepared for one of the local Prescottownians to talk your ear off about what an awesome place this is.
And it is!
