Went for a routine check up. The receptionist who made my appointment was friendly and very helpful in determining my insurance coverage and thoroughly explained the exams that were not covered by insurance and how much they would cost. On the day of the appointment I waited for about 15 minutes before hearing my name called by the assistant who walked me back to take a battery of tests to determine the health of my eyes. The assistant was very professional and we had a nice conversation as we proceeded through the various tests. That took about 15 minutes and then I waited outside for about 10 minutes before the doctor called me into his office. He did an excellent job explaining the health condition of my eyes and how age has affected them. He had good and flexible recommendations for how to compensate for my eye deficiencies. I decided not to make any eye glass decisions that day but took home his prescription for later consideration. I ended up paying $ 50 for the entire check up. Overall, I enjoyed my whole experience, learned a lot about how my eyes work and would recommend them to you.

I came here for a routine check-up and for a new eyeglasses prescription. I had a great experience overall, but I wasn’t there for too long since my appointment was for something very basic. My appointment started on time, which was great. The technician who ran my initial tests was really efficient. I saw Dr. Greidinger, and he was very polite, understanding, and professional. He knew exactly how to adjust my prescription so it fit my needs perfectly. My only complaint is that they performed a test that cost $ 29(my insurance covers the entire cost of an annual exam) without informing me prior to doing so. I didn’t take any stars off for this; I probably would have approved this particular imaging test anyway, since it was important.

Excellent Experience! I am surprised by the negative reviews — my experience was tremendous. I was not sure what to expect since the office is in Lenscrafter and I had only been to a private office for eyecare. The reception and technicians were very friendly, and accommodated me as a walk in with no appointment(I was there with my son who had an appointment). Dr. Colangelo was professional and friendly, explained everything very thoroughly. He presented information and scans on a large screen so very easy to understand. The exams were more thorough than my last eye exam at a local private practice. I was skeptical at first but now will go there and would recommend to anyone. Also can’t beat the convenience — no parking issues, can grab a coffee at Starbucks or shop if waiting for glasses, tons of frames to select from, etc.

I’ve been seeing the doctors at Eyecare Associates for many years and they are the best! They always help me with my insurance and make scheduling an appointment very easy. Dr. Colangelo is my favorite being I feel that he always takes the time to listen to me. I’d recommend them(and have on many occasion) in a heartbeat!

Well, to top off my poor experience at this eye doctor, during my initial visit, I am now in a situation where they keep spamming me, despite numerous requests to opt out of all contact from them. It’s hard to believe that a «professional» business like this in the year 2014 would completely ignore a patient’s request for privacy. It makes me wonder how careful they might be with my other medical information, and indeed with any of their services. In my opinion, this practice seems to be set up as a money-making machine first & foremost. It seems like basic customer rights & protections are ignored — at least in my case. Caveat Emptor.

I’ve had two annual exams here. I’ve found the place to be very professional and friendly. It is very easy to schedule appointments online. They are in a Lenscrafters, but they give you your prescription at the end of the exam, and you are free to use another place to get your eyeglasses. I would go back to them again.

While I was generally pleased with the service and demeanor of the staff here, I’m giving this a one star review because I felt like we were ripped off. I have EyeMed insurance which covers almost the entire cost of a standard contact examination. I used to visit optometrists in New York and came away paying not much more than the co-pay. I assumed wrongly that absent any notification otherwise, the same would be true here. But they must slip somewhere into the fine print on the dozens of pages that you sign but never read that this place offers«premium» exams only. Premium exams are not covered at all by insurance, except for $ 30. The patient is stuck with the balance. Imagine our displeasure when my fiancé and I both got served a bill for $ 75 each. This is a really crappy way to treat your customer. It’s shady – why not post their rules somewhere prominent or inform us before we go for the exam? The burden should never be on the customer to figure out complicated reimbursement schemes. I also was really surprised to hear they charge an extra $ 20 just to teach my fiancé how to place his new contacts in. I’ve never heard of such a charge. It sounds like another money-grubbing ploy to me. I learned how to put my contacts in for free, thanks.

You looked at my eyes. Now I can see. Thanks Eyecare people whose store is in the Market Fair Lenscrafter, even though there’s apparently no connection between the two. I still go to eye doctors in Lenscrafters because of you.
