At Smith-​Shattuck Bookbinding, we specialize in thesis bookbinding, dissertations, legal bindings, and custom handmade books. We are the recommended bindery for many schools including Princeton University and Rutgers University.

We also offer A4 size, minute, lab, retirement, presentation, family history, slip cases, portfolios, custom boxes, genealogy, ring binders, legal, and leather books.

In addition provide document scanning services, photo scanning services, printing, graphic design, book design, and archiving services to help you with your book from start to finish. Depending on your needs we add accessories to your binding such as beautiful marble end sheets, custom hot stamping in many colors, custom plate stamping, and ribbon bookmarks.

History

Established in 1952.

Smith-​Shattuck Bookbinding has been binding theses, dissertations, legal bindings, and custom handmade books. Over time our traditional methods have continued to adapt to new materials and techniques that become available. The result is archival books produced from the highest quality acid-​free materials. Each book is machine oversewn with unbleached cotton thread and archival endpapers. This sewing process creates an exceptionally strong binding with maximum flexibility.
