New Vanderbilt Deli & Grocery sells the New York Times. Boom. Say no more. Other than that, it’s a sliver of storefront space that sells most everything that all bodegas sell across the city. Except this one also sells the NYT. Life-sava.

This store has a little bit of everything, but not a wide range of choices of each item. The staff are very friendly though, and their prices are pretty reasonable. They aren’t 24 hours though, and if they say they are they don’t follow through on that as I’ve gone twice and found them closed.

many stores have opened up nearby in the 3 years i’ve lived in prospect heights, adding to the neighborhood’s process of gentrification. needless to say, i was stoked when a bodega finally opened-up across the street. however, this place is only alllrrriiiggghhht. i know that i shouldn’t expect much for a 24-hour convenience store, but in comparison to the shop that used to be next door to my brownstone apt in park slope, this place comes up very short! overall, the selection’s mediocre — there’s only one type of frozen pizza vs. my old shop’s inclusion of both leading and organic brands. i will definitely go back since it’s open 24-hours and is located right across the street, but know that i’m thinking it’s just OK.
