I found a gem!!! The place is located on Rogers Ave, along with hundreds of other business, so if you are not looking for it you can easily miss it since there is no sign outside. The staff is very sweet.
Its a perfect little café you should go to, for some coffee or wine and good conversation.
They sell wine bottles for about $ 20 and beers for $ 5. I haven’t yet tried the pies but the cappuccino was amazing. It was odd they served it in a glass instead of a mug but the quality overpowered presentation. They own a la marzocco machine which is imported from Italy and top of the chain quality in the cappuccino/​espresso world.
Staff is sweet, great ambiance! Definitely will return to try there pies. If your in the area stop by this relaxing oasis.

Always said I was going to stop at the shop ordered biscuit with bacon inside was good but you have to eat it right away hot and the coffee was not so good given it 2 stars $$ 5.50 think I’ll try the pie next time

so throughout the months. i’ve been getting a different slice of pie each time… been here about 4 times now. the pies are nice. the crust are ok and the filling has always been yummy for me.

These pies are delicious, and the vegan pies are wonderfully too! Alison is the best and she’s a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. I love hanging out here and feel a sense of community every time I stop by. Come by!

Great coffee, great atmosphere, great service, oh, and great pies!
Pels Pies is the ideal spot for hanging out to work or to meet some friends. Coffee is excellent and cheap, starting at $ 2 for a regular coffee! Pies are absolutely amazing with rich and flavorful fillings and easily the best crust I have ever had. The go to is the Fig Buttermilk.
They do a lot more than coffee and pie too! They have bar seating for when you want to enjoy one of their wines or bottled beers. Strong wi-​fi signals from hotspots in the area. Great music is always playing. Outside seating. Quiche, muffins, bisquits, etc. And the ladies behind the counter couldn’t get any cuter!
This is definitely my local go to spot!

Great pie options and friendly service. Larger space than expected. Check out the garden when good weather is on your side. Beer and wine served so an outing can be open ended.
I’m a personal fan of the fig buttermilk. The only thing stopping them from the extra star is they don’t do «a la mode.» That’s a must in a my book.

Pels gets a 5 from me. The fun, funky, modern yet classic vibe coupled with the very engaging, friendly and fun guy behind the counter (I want to say his name is Christopher. I remember him mentioning he was going to be a father within 48 hours of our visit. CONGRATS!), made for a super experience.
I actually went to Pels twice. The first visit is the one that stood out. My girlfriend and I went in the early evening, sat at the bar and was greeted by Chris. He engaged us almost like friends and not just customers. I ended up getting the pumpkin pie. Upon my first bite, I was overwhelmed with the taste of all spice and cloves. I would go as far to say it was spicy. It was a spicy pumpkin pie. Im not sure if that is the usual taste for their pumpkin pie, but if so, and you dont like mad cinnamon, cloves and all spice, then you may want to pass on the pumpkin pie. But dont fret! They have many more wonderful options.
Now the second time I went, the experience was a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of my first experience. One, I had the pear almond (I think it was pear almond), and it was actually pretty awful. The young lady behind the counter served it to me brick cold. I hand it back to her and ask her if she can heat it up. She puts it in a toaster oven, and hands it back to me and it is still cold. Putting the fork in the pie, it just crumbled all over the place. It would not stay on the fork nor could I even get it on the fork because of the dry crumbly consistency. I ended up not eating it entirely. The music was a bit off-​putting. I think it was a mix of beyonce and other shit I cant differentiate from the next song or the song before it because it all sounds the same.
I cant really include the second go round in my rating because it seemed off for the place, even though I had only been there once before. You cant have THAT great of an experience and it not be the quantifier.
The red Fresh Pie light and high and lo bar, with the light beach house colors provided a nice vibe on a chilly night. Joni Mitchel blaring, the power pumpkin pie and the awesome guy behind the counter made Pels a 5 star joint for me.

The best. I live right across the street from here and their coffee is wonderful. Great with a cheddar bacon biscuit. Chocolate mousse pie is divine. Awesome friendly people :)

I really enjoyed my fig buttermilk; my boyfriend wasn’t a huge fan of the plum crumble (I know this sounds stupid, but he didn’t like the huge slices of plum — I guess we both expected it to be macerated). The crust was just okay for a pie place, though maybe we didn’t get the best possible experience because we stopped in just 20 minutes before they closed at 10.
Overall though, it looks like they have a super nice space, and I love that they’re open until 10 and have $ 5 beers! I’d definitely stop in again; the pie wasn’t amazing but for $ 4 a slice, it was definitely worth it.

I love everything about this place. Coffee, pies, wifi, outdoor garden, people, and atmosphere. Especially I loved peach pie. Awww! It was super tasty!!! It’s very addictive.

This is probably the cheapest pie slice out there ($ 4, albeit sized and situated accordingly) but the really weak crust is too disproportionate, distracting from the decent filling of the Fig Buttermilk. Nondescript entrance then absolutely nothing on display unless you strain to look behind the staff (fig&buttermilk, over choc mousse or apple pie). They brew Counter Culture, which they call out by order, not name. Unexpectedly sheer dress worn by the one staffer contrasted with her friendly demeanor.

I came here on one of the opening nights. This shop is dope, the food is good and, more importantly, the owners are just flat out awesome.
I had a bit of a miscommunication with the baker in regards to which pie had dairy in it. Long story short, she was über accommodating and I believed she comped a slice of pie for a friend. It gets better. I left my hat there (the irony) and messaged them on Facebook, because they didn’t have Unilocal at the time. I received a prompt response that it was there (and some other dude’s hate. I wonder if they ever came to get it?), and I had me another hot slice of delicious pie when I got there.
If the pie wasn’t as good as it is and the owners weren’t as nice, I’d probably still go back just to hear the bartender/​owner sweet, (but fading) Australian accent.

It’s a really nice spot (well designed /​nice ambiance /​lots of seating, outdoor space /​chill music) but unfortunately there are not many options for a pie shop. at least the two times I’ve been there.
Both times there were only two sweet and one savory options: peach, fig buttermilk and a quiche.

Having recently moved to Prospect-​Lefferts Garden, we’re still exploring our nabe and trying to figure out which place will be our dry cleaners, our bar, etc. While there are several lovely cafes on Flatbush, they are a tad too far out. Thankfully, Pels Pie recently opened up!
What joy filled my heart when I first entered. It’s basically my shabby chic design come to life! I love, love, love this place. It’s cozy and relaxing. The outdoor garden is really lovely. They’re open late on Friday and Saturday, so it’s the perfect place for a low-​key neighborhood date spot.
I had the strawberry-​rhubarb pie. It was very nice, but I thought some of the rhubarb pieces were a bit tough. I’m really looking forward to trying their other freshly baked pies.

This place is adorable. My boyfriend and I just moved in a block away and we couldn’t wait to try out Pel’s Pies. I loved the ambiance the minute I walked in, and the baker (owner? She was making pies) made us feel instantly welcome. She was sweet and friendly without being saccharine. I had a slice of the fig buttermilk and he had the coconut custard and lemonade. We sat in the back area. Everything was delicious, and I loved how homemade everything was. I could tell that the owners put a lot of love, care and work into everything. I can’t wait to come back and try the coffee!
I just read an unfortunate review where the reviewer had joined especially to create a negative review of Pel’s Pies (she had a total of 1 review) because she overheard a worker being chastised by someone in the neighborhood who came in and complained that the establishment was contributing to higher local rent. The worker then made a comment after the customer has left that the reviewer thought rude (but it absolutely was not). This made my blood boil– it was the customer who was rude. How does a new pie shop singlehandedly contribute to pushing blue collared workers out of a neighborhood? So presumptuous to try and ruin a new establishment’s reputation by creating a Unilocal account just to complain. Especially when the reviewer said her pies were delicious.

What a lovely Rogers addition. Alison makes you feel right at home in this airy pie and wine joint. We ate a scrumptious bacon potato quiche and a piece of apple pie with lattice crust and some intriguing mystery spice.
Reasonable prices, smooth wine, lots of sunshine and wifi. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Great spot with some delicious treats! I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and found out the place had been open for just a few weeks which explains the limited selection of pies and goodies. I ordered a slice of chocolate mousse pie, a cheddar bacon biscuit, and coffee to go. I really wanted iced coffee, but they mentioned it wasn’t available yet. Hopefully soon. Anyhow back to the food. The pie was incredible. Rich, decadent and everything a chocolate mousse pie should be. As for the cheddar bacon biscuit… one bite and I was sorry I didn’t buy more. It was freaking delicious. I ate that faster than I ate the slice of pie. Clearly I love my savory treats more. I will come back just for those damn biscuits.
The place is pretty big with tables in the front, counter seating, and more tables in the back. Lots of space to hang out and enjoy their goodies. The staff, comprised of both owners and a worker, were super friendly. Can’t wait to see what else they put on their menu!

Awesome little café with great pies, wine, beer, and tea. So glad this has joined the neighborhood.
