Richman’s Ice Cream

Stopped here got some brownie sundaes. It was definitely a good decision. Brownie was warm and the hand dipped chi slate death ice cream was great. They have a large selection of sundaes, shakes and blasters. Even a large selection of food like chicken, hot dogs, fries, etc. it was my first time here and I will definitely be a repeat customer. There was no line when I got there but as I left the line was bigger. Seemed to be moving quick with the friendly staff and team atmosphere. My order was big so another worker helped the person with my order. Very efficient from what I saw. Thanks for a great snack and I’ll be back.

Best gelati around. The custard is the best I’ve ever had. The cones are a little expensive but they give a lot! Ask for lots of napkins.

Love to stop at Richman’s when I’m using I-​95. The custard is the best around. The peanut butter dipped cone is a winner. Just beware the portions — they are huge!

Richman’s Ice Cream is the best! I wanted a special ice cream cake for my daughter’s birthday. I contacted Sam and sent her a picture. What she created was beyond amazing! If you are in need of a speciality cake for ANY occasion you’ve got to give Sam a call. You won’t regret it :) If you are ever in Brigantine, NJ be sure to stop by her ice cream shop there. She has great food and yummy ice cream –which is perfect after a long day on the beach. Summer can’t come fast enough.

The lines weren’t very bad, but the service was so slow! That was the only downfall when we went for our after dinner treat. I saw the lady in front of me order a small size cone and it was HUGE! So, I got a kiddie size and it was still big! I had to scrap most of it off bc I was getting so full and wanted some of the cone.
I ordered myself the new orange crème swirl and my son had the vanilla and chocolate swirl. Both were very very good! Nice and creamy and oh so delicious! After this night of icecream, my son keeps requesting more. Lol. I wonder if they’re open year round? Prob not, so I will have to make sure I go back before they close for the winter.

Terribly overpriced. $ 6 – 7 bucks for a sundae, 5 bucks for a milkshake, 4 bucks for a small cone.
Are we in New York? What’s up with these prices? They charge .89 cents to add Jimmies to your cone or sundae. The counter staff is very slow and does not care at all about their job.
Avoid the pretzels and cheese like the plague! Cheese is flavorless glue, pretzels are very dry!

Great spot to take the kids for a treat. They have a little something for everyone. The small is more then enough for most people. The lines can get a little long but to me hats a sign of a good place.

VARIETY. That’s the one thing I can take away from this place. SO. MUCH. VARIETY.
They’ve got it all, really.
Soft serve, hard ice cream in varying flavors, water ice, gelato, and food (like chili dogs and stuff).
I got a soft serve small cone that was about the size of my face. Seriously, WHY SO BIG? Next time I’ll order a kid size and see if that’s more appropriate.
I also got some salted caramel pretzel ice cream to take home with me. It was pretty darn good!
Overall, this place is great and will hit the spot no matter what you’re craving. It’s also not a chain, so you can feel good about buying local!

I take my boyfriends son there religiously and we always sit outside and enjoy the weather and the water ice! Philadelphia water ice factory is the provider.
It’s definitely a family atmosphere too. They actually just had the philly Phanatic there a few weeks ago to draw in a crowd.
They have hotdogs, chicken fingers, fries, and burgers too so sometimes we make a meal out of it. He loves it there.
I’ve also learned that a large gelati is bigger than my head lol. Opt for the small.

Due to the gorgeous weather today, my friend and I decided to take a walk down memory lane and grab ice cream like we used to do in high school. After checking Unilocal,we saw Richman’s was a decent looking ice cream place less than a mile from the shopping center we were in.
The one employee got through the small line pretty quickly, even though she admitted that there should have been someone else there to help but they were injured and apologized for the (nonexistent) wait. My friend and I each got small sized cones and they were huge! Seriously generous portions! And jimmies on top because you know, that’s how we roll!
The price and service seemed fair for what we got; I wouldn’t mind going again sometime!

Came here multiple times while on a business trip. I live down south and this is my first experience of real water ice and the best soft serve that ever hit my tongue! OMG good! I only had the gelati and don’t want to get anything else cuz it was that good!

I remember this place from years back when it was the Dairy Treat. If you’re traveling on 420 or 95 and are in the vicinity of Prospect Park and have a hankering for ice cream, this is where you get off, literally. Yummy treats and friendly service, so I have no complaints there.
On the day my hubby and I visited a few months ago, we had just finished hiking at nearby John Heinz and wanted ice cream, so we came here. We were the only patrons who weren’t tattooed. The tats notwithstanding, the clientele looked a little shady. On a subsequent visit, as we ate our ice cream, we watched the police haul away an unruly drunk from the dive bar across the street. I suppose these occurrences say something for the sad state that Delco is falling into nowadays… just saying…
But the ice cream is great, and I recommend a visit to Richman’s.

Reasonable. Good ice cream and seating outside. Its a summer tradition for me.

The truth is, it’s hard to not like ice cream places in general.
I mean, unless they have no selection, completely rude staff, and a horrible appearance, they’re going to always get a minimum of three stars since in the end, ice cream is awesome.
But can they set themselves apart as special?
So here’s the deal with this place. I’m not normally a soft serve guy. I don’t dislike it. I just prefer hand dipped. After seeing reviews here, and after seeing someone walk away from the window here with a soft serve cone that was huge and awesome, I went for a large chocolate dipped twist cone.
The soft serve here is better than a lot of places. You can definitely taste the richness. After devouring a large cone which was huge, I wanted to eat another one.
That got them a 4^th star. Only reason they didn’t get 5 is that I usually reserve 5 stars for places like Handel’s in Berwyn that are truly special with ice cream. This place is more basic but that has its advantages.
I’ll be back.

Richman’s is a solid place to get some ice cream on a hot summer’s night. I’ve been here a handful of times over the summer and haven’t been disappointed once. The arctic blast (aka Blizzard) is usually what I’m ordering, is pretty large for the price, and only come in one size (sometimes a bummer when you only want a taste — we all know this doesn’t taste the same when you put in the freezer!). More recently, I had a black and white milkshake which was super thick and super delicious!
The servers are always plentiful and courteous, which keeps the lines moving. I’d check out Richman’s if you’re in the area in search of a quick dessert!

Came here based on the great reviews and my love for local, small business. We ordered two cones, one had a big hair in it and had to be redone. No excuses for that.
The moose tracks ice cream was a double scoop with the bottom one smaller than the top one, almost careening over.
The red velvet flavor had a very artificial taste to it.
Portions are generous.
Not sure I would return here.

I agree, the birthday cake ice cream is just beyond delicious! The soft-​serve is also amazing, I love that it is thick and creamy. Everything here is so big, and the prices are not bad, especially for the quality!
The best and the worst part is that it is only right down the street from me! The temptation is so hard to overcome! There is nothing bad that I could say about this place. I grew up loving the Dairy Treat (it’s former name), and this place is a vast improvement! I want to try everything on the menu!

I went here based on Reem C.‘s review. He was dead on with the Birthday Cake ice cream. It will put you in a sugar coma with a deadly but delicious combination of sweet blue frosting, fluffy pieces of vanilla cake and chewy rainbow sprinkles. I already have been back about three times just to get this ice cream again. I recommend the cup over the cone though because they load it up high and it’s likely to topple over and/​or drip all over you. Blue looks good on the ice cream, but not on my shirt.
The menu here is huge. They have more of a variety than the other places. There is water ice, ice cream, frozen yogurt, soft serve, sundaes, and dipped cones. All of these items are available in a large variety of flavors. You can even take a pint of the scoopable ice cream home if you wish. The people who work here are really friendly which is an added bonus. There are a few picnic tables on either side of the building to enjoy your ice cream at. However, there is a lot of trash laying around the area which is my only pet peeve.
For scoopable ice cream in the area, Richman’s can’t be beat!

I officially found one of my favorite ice cream spots in Delaware County. Richman’s has scoopable ice cream (hard serve??), soft serve ice cream, sundaes and much more. The ice cream itself is just so creamy and delicious. It’s as if the cows who helped to provide the milk that made the cream were pampered.
My favorite flavor is Birthday Cake. It’s vanilla ice cream with sprinkles, yellow cake and the blue icing you would normally see on a traditional birthday cake. Many places serve this flavor, but it is usually hit or miss… most of the time it’s more miss than hit. Well, not here. My wife, who normally hates this flavor, absolutely loves it. Whenever I get it, I’m forced to allow her to dip her spoon in my cream.
Mint chocolate chip, a classic flavor, is also great. So is cookies and cream. One of the great things about this place is that it seems like every Sunday from 12pm — 3pm, they give away free ice cream. Richman’s is new to the area, so I doubt this offer will be a weekly thing, but for right now, it’s definitely bringing in the customers. The lines are pretty long during this time period. I guess it’s worth the wait, but I rather go when the lines are «normal» and pay $ 2 for my ice cream. I hate lines.
If you’re in Prospect Park or near Prospect Park and you have a desire for ice cream, I definitely recommend Richman’s. In fact, if you’re travelling on I-​95 (North or South), get off exit 9B for Prospect Park. Richman’s is literally right off of I-​95. There’s a Sunoco gas station right across the street. Fill the tank and then treat your stomach to some good ice cream.
If you do decide to go, to use lines from the Jackson 5 song, «just call my name and I’ll be there.»
