This place is a dump for food I gave them more then enough chances to prove me wrong. I will not return

This Breakfast spot has the first Buffalo Chicken omelet I’ve ever seen. DON’T GET IT. It was an okay tasting omelette but it doesn’t taste anything like buffalo chicken. Very upset as I’m a huge buffalo chicken fan. I’m giving them 2 stars as I thoroughly in enjoy their burgers.

Gave this place multiple chances and have had nothing but bad experiences. Bland food, Paper left on deli meat in a sandwich, brown lettuce, etc. No thanks.

Food Ok but I would not eat there, I watched the cook handle raw chicken, raw turkey and raw beef then handle cooked foods and food going out to diners. He never washed his hands.

The décor and atmosphere matched the good food and excellent service. All in all a great choice if you are in Prospect CT. To top it all off they make great shakes.

This place is awesome. It reminds me of a breakfast spot from when I was a kid that isn’t around anymore. Very friendly staff, cool 50’s theme, and food hit the spot. I had the dairy bar favorite omelette, it was perfect. Bacon was nice and thick, not overdone. Only reason I gave a 4 and not a 5 was the home fries. I’m really picky when it comes to how I like them, and these ones didn’t do it for me.

I went here with my 7 year old daughter. We both had high expectations that this small down drive in would provide us with a quick, inexpensive but tasty lunch. On arrival we were met by our waitress whom id imagine has worked there for at least 35 years. She seemed tired and ready for a vacation. She just wasn’t very friendly. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries, and a chili hot dog kids meal. I also ordered a soda. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time but much to my dissatisfaction my burger was small, dry and extremely boring. Ive had better burgers from just about any fast food restaurant out there. The fries were very good. My daughter enjoyed her chili hot dog and appreciated the prizes that came in her admittedly very cool cardboard «car basket». Overall it was a quick lunch stop, but I doubt I would return due to the mediocre food and unfriendly staff.

I’ve always had a soft spot for places like this. That real country diner feel. Checkered tile floors, pink stools lining the bar. Maybe it’s not the easiest on the eyes, but you know you’re not here for the looks, you’re here for the food.
I decided to try this place with a friend one morning when we were kinda at crossroad between just going to Denny’s or another local restaurant. Boy, were we happy with our decision. Being as it was my first time there, I decided to test the quality of their omelets. I ordered a bacon, cheese, and tomato omelette with white toast. Since we were one of the only people in the place, we got our food rather quickly. The omelets are served in a folded style as opposed to having everything mixed in. The size of it kinda took me by surprise. It had to have measured at least a foot long. The inside was a packed medley of bacon, cheese, and tomatoes that were practically bursting out with each cut of the knife. The home fries had a very strong garlic and onion flavor, and were skillet fried to almost perfection. None of them were dry, or overly soggy.
Honestly, this is probably one of the better omelets I have had in a while. The service was pretty much on par for your typical diner. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area, or even someone looking for a nice classic breakfast with a little bit of a drive.

Found this place not long after work relocated me to Prospect CT. Quickly became a regular stop for lunch and late breakfast. Food is prepared at an «open» grill behind the counter, which I like. And everything I’ve ever ordered here has been good. There’s nothing earth shattering here, but everything is consistently prepared and delicious. Service is touch and go, but even at it’s worst, it’s tolerable. Great milkshakes too.

Sometimes you don’t want new. You don’t want panko crusted, balsamic reduction, wood fired, and pan seared… You want soup and a sandwich. You want it relatively quickly. You want it cheap…
You want this place.
Prospect Dairy Bar does nothing to impress, and never intends to do so, serving diner classics to their core clientele: new moms on maternity leave, the independent elderly, and landscapers on their lunch break.
I had a $ 5 special — An egg salad sandwich on a hard roll and a cup of corn chowder. Add a diet coke, and you’ve got a tasty lunch. Other favorites include the Hummel Brothers hot dogs, and «hand packed» burgers.
And let’s not forget about the «Dairy» part of the Prospect Dairy Bar. A scoop of ice cream will cost you $ 2.50, which sounds pretty darn reasonable to me.
Not many have a reason to come to Downtown Prospect [if you can even call it that], but if you do find yourself here, find yourself at this little-​known Connecticut icon.

Great place for breakfast. Corned beef omelet is sooo good!
