Aspenn Environmental Services was founded in 1997 with a very simple philosophy: A deep-​rooted respect for the environment and a dedication towards keeping customers safe and satisfied.

Aspenn Environmental Services started out by carefully developing tree and lawn care treatments that minimize the use of chemicals and pesticides. Using these techniques, their highly trained tree and lawn care specialists continue to be able to deliver effective results while maintaining a commitment to environmental responsibility.

Originally operating out of New Jersey, Aspenn has since expanded to cover properties and landscapes in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Delaware and Connecticut; and are fully licensed and accredited in each state.

Business Owner

Ronn Seamon started Aspenn Environmental Services in 1997. The family-​run company is certified and licensed in nine states and growing. Aspenn was founded with the intent to have the best, most effective tick and insect solutions, while still using products that would be environmentally friendly.

Ronn is an outdoorsman and loves camping, fishing and hiking and shares this passion with his children. However, he’s experienced a close family member suffer from the effects of Lyme Disease, and it’s his ambition to educate and inform about the threats of Lyme’s disease and provide products and services that allow people and families to enjoy the outdoors while still remaining safe and healthy.

He attends classes at Rutgers to continually educate himself and be kept up on industry’s newest techniques and products. Aspenn strives to provide the most effective tick and insect control solutions, while employing products that have the least possible impact on the environment.

So far so good. they did use the cold call tactic, the last owners…, however I listened to what they had to say and I book a fall spray. We had zero bugs to date. I have booked the Spring Spray but pushed it till the end of March because we were getting torrential snow, sleet and rain and I thought it best to wait. Now I’m not sure I should have pushed it out so far because by then the flowers will be peaking through… Will this spray kill my flowers? What about my vegetable garden? I like to have an organic garden? Should I ask them not to spray the gardens?

Phone rings tonight and it’s Aspenn environmental calling me saying that the previous owner used them for service, little do they know that I KNOW the previous owner, and they go thru a scripted «speech» on how they spray for this and that and blah blah blah, we will be coming to your street on Monday, the SECOND I say «I’m sorry, I’m not interested» CLICK… Really? NOBODY has my new phone number, stop scouring for customers! And then to hang up like that. You guys are rude as anything. YOU called ME, I didn’t call you…

We will be calling to cancel our service after this season. After speaking to our neighbors we learned that we’re paying more than DOUBLE the going rate with Aspenn. And after reading reviews we were disappointed to find out that we were intentionally misled to during the solicitation call. Same lies and scare tactics that other customers have reported: the salesman mentioned the previous homeowners by name and said that they’d used the service and the told of the horrors that would ensue if we canceled.
Amazing that they think they can get away with this in the digital age. Overpriced and dishonest.

We signed up with Aspenn in 2012 when we bought our new home. They promised to spray our ¾ acre for ticks, spiders and mosquitoes. We signed up with them immediately because of my fear of Lyme Disease and since we have a number of deer that pass through our yard, I wanted to be extra precautionary. After about two years of service, I decided to cancel them as I was daunted by the bill which I had been behind on (about $ 400 — just less than one full season of service.) I canceled their services in the Fall of 2014, and even though we owed them money, they were never rude in collection, and were even very understanding in our financial constraints. That being said, this past Spring and Summer (2015 season) we’ve not had their service, and HOLY CROW WE’VE NOTICED! The increase in mosquitoes, and spiders has been tremendous! We had a fishing spider in our shed the size of a tarantula, a massive increase in the number of spiders in the house, and spider crickets all over our home, and on the grounds. I even found a tick on my hip, and I’ve never even seen a tick on our property before this summer. So… we called them and signed up for their services again. I think they’re a necessity on our property. I do wish they’d have more environmentally safe products though.
Awesome company, fantastic customer service representatives, and their service people are always willing to answer questions or address issues you may be experiencing.
As you can see from the lower ratings, these people are angry about their marketing tactics — not their actual service. And yes, apparently their tactics are questionable — should they address those accordingly, their rating will definitely go up! Just check BBB! They have an A+!

Scam artists!
I am on no-​call registry, and this company called and said to have provided service to the previous owner of the house, and my neighbors. And insists on coming to provide «pest control service». I checked with my neighbors, nobody has ever heard of this company.
Call the police if they leave a bill in your mail box, and call the police if they are on your property.

I signed up with Aspenn back in 2012 and can attest that they do treat your property as promised — I watched them because I had never seen anything like it. I called around to various pest control companies and they all want to spray your foundation, drop some granules in your yard (the bag is $ 6 at Walmart, why pay for that?), and come inside and spray the INSIDE of your house. Most charge hundreds of dollars and come one time a year. Aspenn comes out four times a year, plus more if I see any bug activity.
Aspenn comes with a large flat-​bed truck and several high power sprayers. Their guys cover your entire yard, foundation, plants, and treeline. Their sprayers are powerful enough to get probably 15 feet high. No one else I spoke to has this capability or the equipment to cover your yard like that. The result is insect control over the entire property, not just trying to create a ‘barrier’ at your home’s foundation.
I live in a very wooded area, so insects are a big problem. Their treatments obviously don’t magically kill everything within a 10 mile radius, but there is a noticeable reduction. If I do see a spider or ant get into the home, they will (and have) come out and treat the property again.
I had the same concern as some others about their initial sales call in 2012. I seem to remember a similar tactic. I spoke with the owner of the company, Ronn S, and we discussed it in detail. Ronn has taken action on this and is very clear with his sales guys on always being honest and forthcoming with customers.
No company is perfect, but Ronn is dedicated to running his company ethically and went way out of his way to make me happy. I applaud his desire to run a solid business. I urge anyone who is concerned to talk to him — he will treat you right.

These guys are a scam. Exactly what the other reviewers said, they call you after you move into your new home and claim the former owners (who they identify by first names) used them. They then tell you that they were previously paying something like $ 249 per bug/​pest treatment but to get us as new customers they would be willing to offer it to you for $ 182 (not 183, but 182, wow!!)
I emailed the former owners and they had never heard of them or used them. People like this should be locked up. I bet they don’t even treat, just leave a bill on the door (as they said they would)
Also their phone number now is 215−639−7500. «Jesse» is who called me at x607. Beware.

Liars & Potential Scammers. Watch out for this company. We started using them when we moved into our new house in 2011 after they called us and said that the former owners had used their services. Because of recent problems with this company, I have recently inquired with the prior owners of our house to see if they had used Aspenn services. The prior owners have never heard of this company and never had any company spray their lawn before. As other commentators have said, they clearly use recent house sale information to dishonestly get new business. Liars!
This year we prepaid for services to get the discounted rate. Sometime in November, Aspenn claims to have done an additional spray and left us a bill. We did not authorize this spray so we have refused to pay it. Until very recently, Adam from Aspenn called us on a regular basis to try to collect, despite the fact that we told him we never authorized the spray. This week we tried to get in contact with someone from Aspenn and the phone has been disconnected. When calling their parent company in NJ, you cannot get anyone on the phone and it is not clear that anyone is actually working these days. I think this is a total scam of a company and no one should do business with them, if you can even get them on the phone — Buyer Beware!
My husband and I used to joke that we didn’t think the Aspenn people actually ever sprayed or did anything in our lawn other than leave a bill, but, having read all the prior reviews, I am thinking now that they may not have ever done any work. Guess the joke is on us!

These people are scam artists and their product doesn’t work. In fact I’m convinced they did not spray my property and just stuck their sign in the ground.
The big issue is the scam they are trying to play on me. They have sent me a bill for service that I never agreed to. Their game of threatening you with collections agents and late fees is disgusting. I intend to take these people to court.

I had just bought a new house and my wife and I have a newborn baby girl and a dog. The previous owners had Aspenn. When the salesman called for the «regular» service I asked what it did. He gave me the whole run down. I accepted and they came and sprayed. This autumn we had more mosquitos, bugs and my dog got ticks as well. This troubles me, so I decided I simply would not get it again next year. I also tried to pay up front to get the discount, but was assured I would recieve it when I paid it when the bill came. Well, the bill came and when I called to pay over the phone I got no answer. There are 3 seperate numbers online or on the bills to call. All go to the same answering machine. I have been calling all three since my «service» in September. It is now January. I call every friday, to no avail. There is never an answer on fridays. Then, during the holidays they close. After the holidays they still do not answer. I have left numerous messages. I recently recieved a bill with a late charge and a note that it will be going to collections. Good luck with these thieves.

Liars! I recently bought a home and apparently they monitor home sales as part of their marketing. I was contacted and told that the previous owners whom he referred to by name had used his services. I was also told that he and the previous owners had spoke about them passing along his information. I was then informed that due to ticks and blah blah blah… i should have him out to spray and he would be in the neighborhood this week. Well I happen to be in touch with the previous owners regularly so it was very easy for me to uncover the truth. Others might not have that luxury so I am writing this in hopes of keeping others from being duped. On a side note please don’t spray more poisons into our environment. There are always natural solutions. If you have tick problems check out wondercide. I hate to advertise but after daily hikes for the past three years its the only product I’ve found that works and is poison free.

I received a sales call this evening at 7:30pm from a «Dave» at the Providence location. The cell phone he was calling from appeared as «Wrentham MA» on our home land line (In Mass). We purchased this house almost two years ago from the estate (surviving children) of the previous owner who had passed away. When «Dave» called in he asked for me by my first name, introduced himself, and said that his firm used to do tree work and bug spraying for the previous owner, using her first name. I got the distinct impression that his «warm» sales pitch was cobbled together using real estate records. Of course I cannot prove my real estate record theory, his story may very well be true. But after reading the otehr reviews I think my instincts were most likely correct. Buyer beware.

Stay away (as the previous reviewer says)! I only wish I had seen these reviews before. Initially, I received a call from a person called Adam indicating that he had done a maintenance contract with the previous owner of my property. Unwittingly, and without prudent research, I gave them permission to spray my property. However, when I got in touch with the previous owner I was in for a shock — he had never heard about Aspenn. Annoyed by Aspenn’s use of his name in a marketing call, I lodged a complaint and indicated I would never pay for their services. However, a month later I get another reckless call saying that they will spray my property once again (despite me slamming the phone the previous time). To prevent their annoying and cunning phone calls, I have decided to pay for the first service and get rid of them. So, if you get a phone call from Aspenn you know what to do!

Pressure «tick spray» sales call on a holiday weekend evening!
When I told the sales rep I was all set with my landscaping needs his reply was «well give us a call when you find ticks on your kids» at that point I just hung up. Wow! …scare sales pitches will never get my business… ever.

in fact, if 5 star was most recommendable and and 3 was no feeling either way, and 1 star was steer clear… than my one star rating would be more fitting.
