Specialties
We specialize in the finest in authentic Jamaican cuisine. Our most popular dishes are jerk chicken and oxtail. Our jerk chicken is marinated for a minimum of 24 hours and slowly grilled to perfection just like they do on the streets of Kingston, Jamaica. Our oxtail is stewed with the finest spices available.
History
Established in 2013.
Half Way Tree opened in January 2013. Our number one goal is to serve the local community with the best Jamaican Food! In our first year we received some great reviews and even won «Best of Rhode Island» from Rhode Island Monthly Magazine. Sadly we were forced to close, as our original building is being torn down for re-development. But, after an exhaustive search we have found our new home at 150 Chestnut Street!
Inspired by the rich culture and happy people of Jamaica, Half Way Tree brings the best of this island nation to our own island state. Our name comes from the Half Way Tree neighborhood located in the city of Kingston, Jamaica. The famous Half Way Tree Clock Tower is a focal point of the neighborhood and is fondly featured in our logo.
