High Spirits Liquors

By far one of the worst customer service experiences I HAVE EVER RECIEVED! Don’t bother going into the store with anyone under the age of 21 because you will not be allowed to purchase alcohol due to some obnoxious incompetent rule regardless of familial relation. Have a toddler with you nope you won’t be served he doesn’t have an ID!!!

How are there not more posts for this place given how amazing it is? I’ve been shopping here for a few years now and have to say I always find the staff to be extremely helpful and super fun to be around. Now, I really need to give it to them in terms of their overall selection and how they manage to fit so much awesomeness in that store and have it not be cluttered or confining. I should also mention most things I buy here seem to be $ 2 – 5 cheaper than other liquor stores in the area (i.e. extra money for more cool stuff).They definitely have upped their wine game hardcore in the past few years, to the point where I don’t go anywhere else. Love browsing their spirits section and finding the quirky things to make at-​home concoctions with as well as the good ol’ standbys everyone needs in their liquor cabinet. As a fan of all things sour beer related I never leave empty handed as they have an insane amount to choose from in the equally great beer section. If you haven’t been in you’re missing out… and probably paying too much somewhere else.

The parking lot is down right scary with homeless people wondering around like Zombies banging on car windows for loose change. Inside the store is a shit show of drunk Zombies. The management I dealt with when picking up and dropping off my keg was very rude. They made the whole experience a big headache. I suggest never picking up a keg from here they are never getting my business again.
Well I gave it another shot customer service was a lot better, but still lots of zombies in the parking lot definetly not safe.

Oh man, how could I have not written a review on this place. Despite the lack of décor or publicity, I have come here more frequently than not for the well priced wine, good selection of beer and friendly staff. I am a sucker for «expert» opinions and there are a great deal of alcoholic beverages labeled with the appropriate recommendations have never steered me astray and I’ve been quite happy with the prices as well. Overall, this is not Bottles or Nikki’s Liquor, but it has what counts, which are good alcoholic beverages at decent prices.

Poor service. The cashier was unnecessarily rude.
I do not support rude people and I do not recommend this place.
Don’t go here.

By far my favorite LQ store in the area. I’m impressed by how much product they fit in that place. Definitely my #1 organic wine spot (its pretty spectacular) not really a beer drinker but if I was I’d be in my glory here. Employees always helpful with suggestions and looking into diff. Products. Offer special orders on things they don’t carry. And awesome prices especially compared to LQ stores in the area. Thanks High Spirits!

TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE… RUDE CASHIER. TOLD me I had a FAKE ID… I visited this store in the afternoon… The cashier looked at my bottle and told me I don’t drink this… Then when I gave him my ID he told me that this wasn’t me… While trying to shove me out the store I showed him my 3 IDs and showing him my name on my hat he served me… I spent 80 dollars and will not return. Completely unsatisfied with the service

Quick and easy. Hard to find a really great selection in any one place and here has a wife variety of craft beers!
Great deals on selecting a mix and matched 6pack, and of course all of your other staple liquors.
Quick check out and kind cashier! Definitely will be a frequent stop.

HIgh Spirits has become one of my new go-​to stores to purchase beer now that I have moved to Pawtucket. It still has not topped by favorite store in Providence, but it is right up there in terms of selection and service. They do a mix a six which is always a plus and their craft beer selection is pretty excellent. It doesn’t seem to be quite as organized as my favorite liquor stores in the area but it will do. Prices are on par with other liquor stores in RI. I will continue to purchase my alcoholic bevies here if I am in the area but it would be cool if they could start a frequent buyer program like the other store I frequent. Just sayin…
HIgh Spirits has a good emphasis on craft and local brews, which is awesome. I love their beer of the month program, which offers a discounted price on a select craft beer every month. Checking out is usually a breeze as they frequently have more than one register open. This is key, as the store gets busy in this high traffic location right next to Whole Foods. I’ve also found some beers here that I haven’t been able to find at other stores in the area. I’m a fan, which is good because it is more convenient to get here than my other favorite store.

Great location – right next to Whole Foods – and prices are reasonable too (perhaps despite it’s location???)! They carry some nice craft beers in their room-​temperature shelving (Maine Brewing Co., Allagash, etc…) and recently started a mix-​a-​six option.
Their staff are friendly and helpful, but don’t badger you either. My partner and I had a good conversation with one of their cashiers last time we made a purchase about the upcoming RI Brew Fest in Pawtucket. High Spirits is one of the sponsors!

Having just moved to the Eastside a few months ago, we have been searching for that go-​to liquor store for our imbibing needs. Finally, we stumbled upon High Spirits. Our boozie tastes and their awesome selection were a match made in heaven! The prices are spot on and less than other places. I lean toward spirits and my husband toward brews and they have a great selection of both. Tons of microbrews, local and abroad, and they even have a beer special every month. The staff is friendly and super knowledgeable about their product (how could you blame them) and they even helped me carry a larger purchase to my car. Also, although we don’t normally shop at Whole Foods, the location is convenient if we need to run in and grab a thing or two.
All in all, this is our favorite local liquor store, so much so that my husband will drive past several unnamed stores to shop here!

I’m not an alcoholic… of course that is precisely what I would say if I were… I enjoy my vodka so give me a break! They actually have a very large selection of great vodkas here and many other liquors which I think are very difficult to find sometimes. They are located right next to the Whole Foods and Staples shopping area. Plenty of parking and prices are about average. Convenient place for anyone living on the east side!

Not a clue what is going on. Bad service bad selection, just bad overall. They spend no time trying to learn their customer. Just put junk on the shelf and expect the customer to buy. How can a dump like this be next to a Whole Foods? Buyer be warned.

Agree with C.A. that this is the best beer store in Providence, which is to say if you can’t get up to Yankee Spirits in South Attleboro (with its mind-​bogglingly huge array of micros and crafts) then this is the place. Staff is hip and friendly (they remind me of a record store staff in the best possible way!) beer is plentiful whether chilled or bombers or imports; and priced right. They recently started making it really easy to grab a single from an obscure craft beer six-​pack you may have always wanted to try, and they don’t gouge you to do it. All hail!

Middle of the road liquor store. They have craft beer, but a slightly higher price point and smaller depth of selection than a few of my other regular stops in and around town. It’s convenient to the grocery and office supply shops I often visit though, so it’s an easy choice to swing by on occasion.3.5

Big fans of High Spirits! The store is very convenient being right near Whole Foods. the prices are very reasonable ($ 8.50 for Brother Theolonius and $ 43 for Glenmorangie Quinta Ruben). For what appears to be a small store, the selection is fantastic, with some craft brews that you don’t see in many other stores.
We ventured in here on New Year’s Eve and, even though there was a line, the store was appropriately staffed and we were in and out in a jiffy.

a lot of choices! I like this place a lot because staff is super nice and fun to talk to. Even though I live downtown Providence I will walk up that big hill to get their alcohol because well… its worth it!

I had one of the employees running around the store with me as I was trying to remember a random wine I bought from their store almost a year ago. Took us about 10 minutes but we found it and I was really grateful for his help!
You can also put together a random 6 pack of beers from an amazing array of microbrews. Doesn’t get much better than that.

Given the proximity to the house, High Spirits is usually a go to place for beer/​liquor/​wine. However there are other places in the area but definitely the service and selection keeps bringing me back to High Spirits. The service isn’t in your face but they are more than willing to help you out with a selection. Most liquor stores I go into it is usually a depressed, old, unshaven fat guy behind the counter who is just there to take your money. That is not the case at HS.
As Hilary mentioned, the selection of craft beers is quite nice and can’t go wrong with the prices, especially on the inexpensive wine selection. Sorry guys I am not throwing down on a Rothschild if I am drinking a glass or two every other night.

Oh, High Spirits Liquors, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways:
1. You have an amazing selection of craft beers. Shipyard, Stone, Allagash, Abita. You have them all, and for a reasonable price.
2. Your prices. As previously mentioned, they’re reasonable. Love.
3. Your close proximity to the grocery store. One-​stop shopping, kids.
4. The helpful-​yet-​cool staff. They leave you be, but always offer to help. They even chat with you at the check out, and not in a creepy or annoying way.
5. You don’t smell bad. Why do so many liquor stores stink like something dry but also rotten? You are clean and fresh, with nary a hint of stink.
6. Your interesting selection of beers. Everything from standards like Magic Hat No 9 to strange, lesser-​known brews.
7. Your respectable selection of booze and wine. These are a little pricier, but in a pinch, I’ll get them here.
8. Your adorable name. Seriously. Too cute.
