Providence Picture Frame is the biggest art and frame store in New England with a legendary reputation and heritage that dates back to 1850.

Our philosophy is simple: «do what is right for the customers and their artwork.» Our full acre of gallery and workshop space is more than enough to house your every need. Find the picture frames, custom frames, and artwork that speaks to you. The family of designers and craftspeople are seasoned professionals who have made their careers with us. This combination of size and skill means what we can do for you is unsurpassed. Quite simply, if we can’t do it, nobody can.

History

Established in 1859.

Providence Picture Frame Company is the oldest art and frame store in the nation and the largest on the East Coast. We got our start in the Arcade building, the oldest «mall» in the country (est. 1828), located in the heart of downtown Providence. We moved to our present location, a beautiful old new england mill building, in 1977. We have 32,000 square feet of everything you could want for your walls, and more experience than anyone to help you with whatever you desire.

Meet the Business Owner

Geoff G.

Business Owner

From teaching a picture framing course for the Rhode Island School of Design, to giving lectures across New England galleries and artist groups, Geoff is recognized as a leader in archival and creative framing methods. His creed is to «do what is right for the artwork and the customer.»

Geoff has been a wood and metal worker for over 30 years –20 of those, spent in the picture framing industry. From childhood, he was always taking things apart to figure them out; but, more importantly, he also was able to put them back together –often with modifications. Geoff’s undergraduate work concentrated in photojournalism and foreign languages. His MBA focused on entrepreneurial strategy. Having lost his father at a young age, in service to this country, Geoff feels strongly in giving back to the community and helping others –as he was helped.
