Description

Specialties

Rolfing Structural Integration is a systematic re-aligning of the entire body to release restrictions, normalize joint-function and make good posture easy and natural.

People typically come to see me because of persistent or re-curring aches and pains (back, knee, shoulder, neck), an inability to relax, or a general lack of comfort in their bodies. Some are looking to improve their athletic performance or their artistic range of expression.

Benefits that can be expected from my work include: increased structural stability and decreased risk of injury, more efficient and graceful movement patterns, improved flexibility and well-being, greater enjoyment and efficiency in working-out and a more fine-tuned internal body-awareness and presence.

History

Established in 1998.

I was certified as a Rolfer in 1998 and established a practice in Austria, Europe the same year. In 2000, I moved to New York City, and in 2005 relocated my practice to Providence, RI.

Business Owner

When I was a competitive dancer in Austria, I was constantly struggling wiht pain and the limitations of my body. After a number of sports injuries and surgeries, I developed a strong interest in how to improve my movement and increase my body’s performance potential without risking injury and chronic pain.

I went through a basic series of Rolfing Si in 1996 and was so impressed with the changes that I decided to become a Rolfer myself. In 1998, after 1 ½ years of training with the European Rolfing Association and the Rolf Institute in Boulder, CO, I was certified and started a private practice. I have worked in Austria, NYC and Hongkong, before moving to RI in 2006.

What I enjoy most in my work is to see the surprise in people’s eyes when they feel in their own bodies what is possible — whether that is getting out of chronic pain, being really present to one’s own experience, or «just» having one’s feet solidly on the ground.
