Established in 2014.

After four successful years in the Boston suburbs, Spring Forth Dog Services expanded into its first training studio: Spring Forth Dog Academy, located in the historic Jewelry District of Providence, RI.

Katherine O.

Business Owner

Katherine Ostiguy KPA CTP is the co-​owner and lead trainer at Spring Forth Dog Academy. A professional dog trainer since 2007, Katherine is an expert at using positive reinforcement and clicker training to solve dog behavior problems and teach basic and advanced obedience. She is one of only a few Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partners in the state of Rhode Island, a certification which requires a commitment to training digs and their owners with kind, positive techniques.

Katherine has earned titles and major awards with her personal dogs in obedience, rally, conformation, and weight pull events, and competes at the national level in the sport of dog agility.

I can’t say enough good things about Spring Forth. All of their methods positive based and you will see results quickly. Katherine and her staff are very approachable and easy to communicate with. You can tell that their passion is training dogs and guiding their owners.
Their Puppy Day School is a must for anyone wishing to get their pup into a daycare like environment. They work on socialization and appropriate play, basic manners, as well as crate and house training. The weekly report cards are a great way to see the progress your puppy is making and the frequent Facebook posts allow owners to catch a glimpse of all the fun the pups have.
I also highly recommend their group classes. Class sizes are smaller than other places I have been allowing for a less chaotic environment but still plenty of socialization and time for one on one guidance.
Overall my puppy and I give Spring Forth two paws up!

I am so thankful for the care and dedication of Katherine and Dan. My puppy loves school and as a first time puppy owner (as an adult) their guidance and support is so helpful. One of the best things I’ve noticed with my puppy is how nice she is when she meets a new dog. She gets so excited and is so happy to make new friends! This is the direct result of the socialization that occurs at Spring Forth and it’s priceless.

Then you need to give Spring Forth a call. They offer a wide array of dog services from walking to training… even transportation for extremely reasonable rates.
The trainers, Cat and Dan are a lot of fun (which is super important to me) and extremely professional. And they get RESULTS!

I have Katherine and Daniel to thank for a huge improvement in my dog Zuzu’s quality of life, and mine too! Zuzu seemed to be suffering from separation anxiety – she howled and barked incessantly whenever I left the apartment even for a few minutes. .Katherine diagnosed her problem as boredom instead of anxiety and suggested several simple remedies. They worked like a charm, and within days I was able to leave and find Zuzu contentedly playing when I came back. Katherine an Dan are natural dog people as well as consummate professionals… and their services are a bargain!
