Before I begin my review, let me add the disclaimer that we came at almost 1AM on a Saturday night for dinner. The place was moderately busy considering the time. Unfortunately, every customer seem to be trashed. Likely the result of the night club action on The Hill. But the staff handled things very well. Also, for everyone’s safety, they lock the doors at 1AM. You can order delivery until 4AM though. Be wary of the delivery charges though; can be quite pricey if you live more than a couple miles away… Also, they do have a lot behind the storefront. Which is great because parking on Atwells can be a pain. Let’s talk food. We ordered jalapeño poppers(decent, but nothing special), bacon & cheese fries(a-freaking-mazing), a chicken parm sandwich(good, but sauce needed salt), & an eggplant parm(again, sauce needed salt, & eggplant was too soggy for my liking). Definitely a place to try for late night munchies. Interested in trying their pizza; other patrons seem to be really enjoying it. Will give this place another shot. Will let you know how it goes!

Super fast delivery and great sub! Very impressed with the delivery person getting it to the right door the first try and he was very polite. I will certainly order from Wise Guys again!

While the delivery was prompt, I had asked for them to call due to sleeping children which was neglected. The sandwich ‘the bull’(philly cheesesteak) was mediocre at best; minimal flavor. I have been here before for the eggplant and that has been nothing but fantastic. I understand it’s a Friday night but I’d rather order from somewhere that’ll take longer or more pricey with more flavor in comparison.

Ordered Penne alla vodka for delivery. Food arrived at a decent time but didn’t arrive as expected. The food was cold and extremely dry and without any sauce at all(it looks like someone is learning how to cook). I called back to inform them of the food and they knew exactly what order it was when I stated the food is cold. How can they knowingly send cold food out to customers. The owner or manager that I spoke with refused to remake my order and stated that when you order delivery you get what you get and if you want something decently made you have to go inside the store. This will be the last time I order from this place as they knowingly send cold food out and could care less about satisfying their customer’s and personally don’t care if you come back for more business.

Ordered tony soprano with words bacon listed four x, asked toasted. Just a bot in sub roll. Roll huge and fresh, no mayo, asked for some counter girl said already on it. Bacon was ground up personal, pet peeve if you advertise bacon then use lots of strips. Finally after waiting for her to get off phone for ten minutes got extra mayo. Menu looks good here, especially make your own pizza and pasta but this sandwich was overpriced and sub par. Tables also not bussed but pretty clean overall with menus easy to understand on the wall. Maybe it’s just my gaelic heritage but for an ethnic group that complains about being characterized as gangsters, why use mafia to market your business?

Got a large Donny Brasco pizza delivered to the Hilton, $ 17 including delivery charge. It arrived quickly, fresh, and hot. Very happy to have food delivered at 1am. And the pizza is really delicious! Next time I’m in town, I’ll try something else from their menu!

Meh. Their pizzas are really good – if you’re in their delivery area, give them a try. Everything else I’ve had there has been mediocre, though.

I ordered a boss sandwich that was suppose to be toasted and they gave me cold. When I went back this is what they gave me, a soggy ass sandwich drenched in Italian dressing. Their food is getting worse and worse smh

Love love love. My favorite sub place! I travel at least once a month to wise guys to get a sub(about 45min drive). My favorite is the Cubano! My son was in the NICU for about two months in providence and the security guard at the hospital told us about it. Thank goodness she did. When we were staying at the Ronald McDonald house we ate everyday. But that was a year ago. Since they have changed management, you can tell. The Cubano is a little spicier and the pork wasn’t as moist. Still my favorite sub place though!

More like Stupid Guys and Stupid girl on phone. Ordered 2 hamburgers one with melted cheese-came cold. Other burger with a whisper of relish-chincy. Also cold. WE ordered an M & M cookie in which order I requested twice that they do not forget the cookie. They forgot the cookie. Big discussion 3-way with dumb girl who acknowledged they screwed up yet would not give me a freebie on the missing dessert. Kept saying«Well you didn’t pay for it/» BUT I WANTEDIT lethargic order taker. I wanted it. Never again. Used in the past and they always somehow screw it up. Despite reminders, prodding etc… they have not once got an order correct. BTW=the burger rolls were stale.

Reviews are mixed. I ordered 3 sandwiches today and they were all good. Once you get past the gimmicky names, nothing’s new under the sun. Eggplant parm grinder. Corned beef and pastrami grinder. Cuban sandwich. All good, full, and $ 8 or $ 9. I’d never get a sub at De’Angelo’s again if they were closer. Their sandwiches get smaller and emptier while their prices go up.

Where do I start? I would give this place negative stars if I could. Ordered delivery from here a few months ago. No weather issues this night, and not a busy night for delivery on a random Sunday night. Ordered a pizza and an appetizer. After an hour I called the store to see where my order was. They informed me it was out for delivery and would be there soon. After two hours I called back. They informed me it was very close. After another half hour I called and got the same response. At this point I wanted to cancel my order and get a refund on my credit card. I asked for a manager and the woman said there was not one on site. She informed me I had to call back the next day and talk to some other woman. I was shocked they still didn’t deliver me the food that supposedly close to my apartment for free so the delivery driver could at least get a tip and to keep me happy. I called the manager the next day. No apology and no free coupons for me to come back and at least give this place a try. DONOTORDERFOODFROMHERE. I’m surprised this company is still in business with the customer service they have, or should I say lack there of. It’s unfortunate, but stick with Dominos or Pizza Pier for quick cheap pizza delivery in Providence.

If I was giving this review completely on the french fries this would be a five star review. Huge quantity of thick, well cooked, and well seasoned fries, The rest I was not really impressed by. The burger had an odd flavor. It was also served on odd bread. At first I thought it was novel. Then I found it a pain as it pulled apart in sections. Then the drink. It comes from a soda fountain and you get a very nice plastic disposable cup. And they have lids. But the lids don’t fit the cups. Why are the lids out there? Staff was very friendly and I will probably try it again if I am in the area.

The quality of the food was OK. When you go to Federal Hill and buy an Italian sandwich from an Italian-themed shop, you have elevated expectations. I’d keep the name and work on reengineering some of the food in case De Niro and Scorsese walk in one of these days looking to relive the glory days…

Wise guys have new ownership and recipes! It is sooo good! We ordered delivery online and jokingly left a comment saying to draw a dinosaur inside the box. Look what we got !

This place is a total rip off of the gangster culture, if any self respecting mobster were to try these sloppy, low end sandwiches they would probably shoot the owner from over the counter right there on the spot. This place was so dirty that after ordering I went to find a table to eat at and immediately decided to get my sandwich to go after seeing how filthy the tables were, not a single clean table to eat at in the whole place. There was also food and garbage on the floor behind the counter. I ordered a steak sandwich. It was so greasy and slimy that I only got through 2 bites before tossing this sandwich out on the on ramp to 95 south. Don’t waste your time at this pit.

I found out this place was under new ownership and some of the employees had changed so I decided to give it another try. This experience was the polar opposite of the first. The girl at the counter couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. This time I tried s sandwich and it was pretty good. I would recommend that anyone who had a bad experience in the past give it another shot.

I wasn’t really impressed with Wise Guy’s at all. I was hoping for a Ricotti’s like experience as we are on the Hill after all, and instead I got a pretty grimey overpriced meatball sub… that is after I went home with the WRONG sub to begin with. When I called, the girl taking orders was just RUDE and giving me attitude. Props to the owner though, who was kind and took over to fix it, but a refund would have been nice. I’ll stick to Ricotti’s and Subway, thanks.

BF was in the mood for a burger, and we were both in the mood for not leaving the house, so after finding Wise Guys on Eat24, we decided to give them a shot. BF got his burger with some onion rings; I got the fish and chips with a caprese salad. Pretty much everything was completely soggy – except the tomatoes in my salad, which were hard and flavorless. I get that the food was packed and delivered, and I expected it to be somewhat soggy, but my fish and chips was just a box of mush. The coleslaw had no crispness at all, and no flavor; the fish was clear and had no integrity to it at all. I don’t even know *how* you can overcook fried fish, but it was disgusting. I didn’t have high hopes for a mafia themed restaurant, but I honestly have never had a plate of food that bland and mushy. We will not be trying this again.

I had bought a Groupon for this place and decided to give it a try. Looked at the menu and said to myself… great…many choices: Salads, wraps, sandwiches, pizza, fish and chips, calamari, pasta… etc. We ordered a Chef’s salad with Italian dressing on the side(which comes with Garlic rolls) and a NY Style Pizza(the Moe Green Pizza — Basil pesto, sliced fresh tomatoes, marinated chicken breast and mozzarella cheese topped with fresh garlic, olive oil and Romano cheese). We waited a long time for the meal to be ready… I noticed that the salads were shown in a case in clear boxes, and sure enough, my salads was not freshly tossed, but boxed. The salad dressing came in a pouch and when they gave me my salad, they never gave me my garlic rolls(which I was not going to eat any way, but… never offered to me…). When the pizza was ready, my BF took a bite and noticed that the dough was not cooked in the center… he took it back and they«re-cooked the pizza». It was a thick NY style pizza, which the times I have been in NYC, had been offered to me, in a thinner version than this one at WGD. After several long minutes… the pizza was ready again. We both took a bite and we agreed it was one of the worst pizzas we had ever tasted in our lives… and my BF is a huge pizza fan… he eats all kinds, all over the city, all over the country… He did not like it either. The toppings were bland, runny and all wet… C’mmon…I have eaten vegetarian pizza with tomato slices on top before… at many other pizza joints… and they do a better job. Not going back… Ever…

I stopped in this weekend because I had a Living Social gift certificate. The staff was very helpful & friendly. It was around 10PM and we were the only ones in the restaurant on a Saturday night. We looked for a seat to sit at but ALL were dirty. I went to the counter to as one of the several employees standing around if a table could be washed. He came out and washed ONE table, left the others dirty. We ordered steak & cheese w/works, meatball & cheese toasted, traditional Italian. The Italian was good, The quality of the steak was good but tasted bland, and the bread for the meatball was charcoal burnt. Oh and I don’t know if it matters but one of the 2 cooks behind the grill(the tall one) took off his baseball cap and aggressively scratched his head with both hands and continued to cook. GREAT !! Won’t be back …
