Capt Jack’s Wharf Condominiums

Captain Jack’s Wharf was a unique experience. Well located in P-town’s west end, the rustic cabins are directly on/​over the water. During hot days and nights, this proved really nice. The caretakers were pleasant but not overly solicitous. You will get to know the folks in adjoining cabins, at least a little, as it has a bohemian, communal vibe. This has its good and not-​so-​good aspects, depending on your perspective and desire for solitude or company. Although pets are welcomed, we received a note on our first day there that our dog barked/​bothered folks, so we ended up finding off-​site sitters/​good Samaritans or taking our dog with us when we wanted to go out. We weren’t the only ones during our week who experienced this, so think more carefully than we did when bringing your dog. The place is visually poetic, and I highly recommend it with these caveats. It’s not for those strictly enamored of privacy and American-​style creature comforts. But that’s part of what made it a very genuine experience for us, despite being the unpopular dog-​owners.
