Rita’s Italian Ice

I love Rita’s, I prefer «just the ice» to ice with cream or gelati but I’ve found that I’m in the minority there. The price is good, especially for the amount of nummy treat you get and the ice is so much lighter than ice cream so I never feel guilty about coming here.
The shop itself is clean and well lit and the service is always fast even at the drive through.
I wish they were more consistent about which flavors they offer, it’s always a surprise to see what they have and what they don’t, but there are enough flavors that even a picky eater like me rarely leaves disappointed.

Rita’s is really good for a cold, sweet dessert. A mango gelati is a great start into Rita’s if the options seem confusing. I seem to always get a misto with a fruit flavored ice mixed with coconut ice. Clean store, fast service, and tasty treats. I’m glad Rita’s had finally come to Utah

I have never had a bad Italian ice and custard from any of Rita’s location. Love to go to the valleys just to get some Rita’s.

This place is awesome. I love their ice! It is amazing. I go multiple times a week threw their drive threw because it is a nice little refreshing treat. I love the blue raspberry misto. It’s my favorite but hey always have tons of flavored of ice and custard to choose from.

Nice place here. A friend and I got the frozen custard cones. But, there was a small spider in my friend’s custard. Was it there when they gave it to him? Did it fall on his custard when we were sitting on the bench outside? I don’t know, but a boy doesn’t deserve to have to think about this. Cone could have been a little cheaper too. 2 stars. But wait, Brooke is really nice– 3 stars.

Just went out on a ledge tonight, decided to try something new with my homeboys. It’s definitely different than your average ice cream shop. Could be cheaper but it won’t drain your wallet by any means. Gotta try it at least once. Also the employee named Brooke is the best.

Yuuuuuuumy! Small place set off the road with magic ices and custard inside the store. So many fun delicious flavors of Italian ice and samples are free. Ended up with a fresh pear and mango ice with vanilla custard on top. Each spoonful was a bit of tart with smooth creaminess. Will be back for sure!

I absolutely love Ritas. This is a passion forged deep and long ago. The Italian ice or the Gelatis are my favorite options there. As a whole I would give Ritas 5 stars but for the Provo location I have to take one of those stars away. The service is not that great. I have been seeing some improvements recently, however the drive they service still needs some work. People usually go through there because they have children or a family waiting at home. They clearly need lids. Why are these only offered at the drive thru upon request? And the drive thru should be quick. You don’t want all your other custards to melt while you wait for the last one. I get the impression that the people inside are more important that the people at the drive thru. Maybe some balance? All in all I love it here and I recommend it to everyone. Just not necessarily the drive thru or the one in Provo.

I grew up in NJ eating this stuff everyday after school and i’m so happy to see they came to Utah! RITAS IS AWESOME. Menu Tip: Get the Misto. Always takes everyone so long to try it cuz they wanna go with the Gelatis and the Ices (which are good) but the Misto kicks it up to a whole other level. And try the Mango, it’s their best selling flavor for good reason. Overall, Ritas is amazing for everything. Topping off a date night, after a baseball game, somewhere to take little cousins or nephews/​nieces, if you’re depressed and wanna eat your feelings, just wanna try something new, Ritas makes everything better.

Rita’s started out on the east coast and I’m soooooo glad they brought it here. It is seriously so good! All their creations especially the gelati are so good and priced really well. I just wish they had more space to sit and more parking! So good. You must go here. A lot. The people are so nice too.

Get the Gelati. It’s amazing! The flavors change often but we like that the custard is rich and thick like it should be.

The closer to a certain college campus a food establishment is in Provo, the worse the service seems to be. I honestly don’t know how many more awkward encounters I can handle trying to navigate places like this. This probably says more about my impatient personality than anything, but I digress. Just brace yourself for the «flavor sampling» that will result in you waiting for homegirl and her four children to try each and every flavor, leaving dirty sample cups all over the countertop. But don’t count on the employees standing around to keep the line moving. I find myself quite able to commit to a flavor of Italian ice without trying it first, but I suppose we are all blessed with different gifts. Call me impulsive.
So the concept here is so crazy it works. You have custard. Good custard. And equally good Italian ice. Get one, get the other, or do the right thing and put them both together in a cup and then congratulate yourself on a treat well chosen. The latter is called a gelati– they layer custard and ice in a cute lil cup. I got cherry ice with vanilla custard. ‘Twas a good choice.
I will be back. But I can see myself having a tenuous relationship with this establishment as I will have to battle my way through the ordering process to acquire the desired goods. Le sigh. At least I’m getting great research done for my PhD in Misanthropy.

In the sea of mediocrity that is the frozen dessert scene of Provo Utah, Rita’s is a ray of hope. For the uninitiated, their specialty is Italian Ice (not the same thing as shaved ice) in myriad flavors that range from fresh fruits to candies like swedish fish; they make fantastic frozen custard as well. My personal favorite when I go is the Gelati, a layering of your choice of custard and ices.
This location is readily accessible and features a drive-​through. They also offer a student discount and punch card app for smart phones.
If you haven’t been, give it a try. It will make you forget all about run-​of-​the-​mill fro-​yo haunts.

The manager is super nice, for the opening my husband was working a double and I tried paying for an ice I was taking to him and since they were free for that day he let me take one for him too! I love the mango, and the cookies and cream is delicious too. I would say it’s inexpensive. Definitely replacing yogurtland for our family! :)
