Specialties

Fishing on the New York waters of Lake Ontario for trophy trout and salmon aboard a 28′ Baha Sportfisherman, with a friendly and knowledgeable captain. Our trips are designed for anglers who like to participate in the fishing not just crank them in. We also have lodging available at Feeder Creek Lodge and we can package the accommodations along with the charter fishing trip as a package at a fair and reasonable price. You can also bring your own boat and we will share with you what is biting best, where they are biting, and what they are biting on.

History

Established in 1987.

Capt Bill and Barbara have been life long residents of Oswego County in upstate New York.

I was licensed by the US Coast Guard and started a charter fishing business as the lucky Dutchman in 1986. To better serve our anglers Barbara and I built and opened the Feeder Creek Lodge in 1990. We felt that by offering lodging along with fishing as a package we could insure our customers an enjoyable and quaility experience

In 1995 we purchased a 28 ft. Baha Sportfisherman which became the LuckyDutchman II and in 1996 we committed to a full time Charter and lodging business and we have been enjoying it ever since.

Meet the Business Owner

Capt. Bill V.

Business Owner

I have always lived in Oswego County and when i was a boy I used to get in trouble for building rafts and taking them out on the lake. Back in the 50’s because of the lamprey eels and the commercial fishing, the lake trout disappeared from Lake Ontario which left us with smallmouth bass and pan fish to fish for. In 1969 the state of New York followed Michigan’s lead and started stocking trout and salmon in Lake Ontario. The first boat that I used to troll for these fish was a 12 foot row boat that I fished close to shore in the spring for browns and again in the fall for salmon. As I could afford it I graduated up in boat size and after a few years of taking my family, friends, and coworkers fishing. I realized that I was working like a guide so I might as well get my Coast Guard Captains License and get paid for doing what I love. I have been guiding and having a great time doing so ever since.
