Recently had lunch here and it was excellent. Shrimp appetizer and Mango Chicken were high quality and service was above average. Very scenic and comfortable setting. Definitely a sleeper off the beaten path.

This is our second visit here. We really enjoyed the dinner the first time. We had coconut curry chicken and curry chicken roti. Both were flavorful and filling. They also have beers, wines and a full bar.

I’ve been to Callaloo twice, and had an excellent experience both times. The location is great– hidden away on Alligator Creek– so you can watch the manatees and dolphins, fish leaping out of the water, gorgeous birds and of course the boats. The menu is quite varied and interesting. Today I had the crab cakes, which were fabulous with the sauce and amazing coleslaw. My friend had the oxtail, yes, oxtail, and said it was just as it should be(I wouldn’t know, but he’s a fan). We also tried the Callaloo soup and fried oysters– so we did nibble our way through the menu. It was all absolutely delicious and a good value. The service is friendly and attentive, and Steve, the bartender, makes a great drink. A very inviting little bar, by the way, separate enough from the restaurant so it has it’s own appeal, and you don’t see it from your dining table at all. This little restaurant is becoming a favorite– immaculate, relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable. Callaloo is a great regular stop for locals like me, and a treat for out-of-town guests. Family friendly, too.

Just had lunch at this wonderful place the other day and boy did I say WOW. I couldn’t believe how great the food and service were. Our serve Kathe hit it out of the park with a ton of great suggestions and kept our drinks coming quickly. She’s wicked good. The food was great, nice portions, well seasoned but not salty and a pretty good value. We’ll be back for another wicked good lunch soon.

Had to leave because no one and to our table to wait on us. They had customers but apparently they didn’t care that people walk out, barely apologized.

Great location – interesting food. Had the goat, not something you find very day, but I guess I don’t really care for Caribbean food.

We ate at Calaloo on Sat. March 212015. We had grouper sandwiches and fries. It was delicious! Grouper was very tasty and the lettuce, onion, slaw, and tomatoes on the sandwich were very fresh and crisp! Will definitely be back!

Callaloo… a bit off the beaten path but worth it. Now there are new owners, new name, all together different menu. Caribbean. Very tasty too. I had the grouper sandwich which was fabulous. My husband had the chicken sandwich with a Caribbean mango salsa… Also exceptionally good. Ambiance is on the lite side but the view of Alligator Creek is nice. Watching boats run up and down the channel is pleasant. Owner Bob and Ophelia have some creative ideas on the horizon. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Stopped in yesterday afternoon to check the place out and have a light dinner to sample some Carribean fare. I had the Roti, which is mainly chick peas and chopped potatoes with the chosen meat(I got the goat) in a curry style sauce, all on the thin Trini bread. The flavor of the dish was fantastic! I initially thought that a take-away box would be needed, but it wasn’t when all was said & done. My companion had a crab cake which was very big and crabolicous. Her favorite part, though, was the sauce. Service was friendly and attentive. Definitely worth repeat visits!

So far so good. we pulled up in our boat after we noticed that the restaurant had been reopened. We didn’t eat here only had a couple of cocktails but the menu looked interesting and delicious. Steve the bartender is very friendly and recommended a couple of items off the menu as well. Next time we’ll be back to eat.
