Mitchell’s Landing Bed and Breakfast

Mitchell’s Landing Bed and Breakfast, simply put, is terrific. This is not your typical b&b — it is a private suite built as an addition to the proprietors’ home that consists of a sitting room, large bathroom with a skylight and window, large bedroom area with a king 4 poster canopy bed and kitchenette. The suite has windows all around, letting in a great deal of sunlight. The bed was THE most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in — it just envelops you.
When I made the reservation, the proprietor asked about the type of breakfast foods we preferred and made sure the kitchenette was stocked prior to our arrival. There was even a homemade fruit salad in the refrigerator!
The suite opens up to a small porch that has a small wooden table and chairs — perfect to sit out and enjoy the beautiful scenery. So incredibly peaceful.
Our stay was completely private; we met the proprietor upon check in and only saw him again when we were leaving. This is the only room that is rented, so there were also no other guests. We truly appreciated the privacy given to us and wish we could have stayed in such a peaceful place longer.
Purcellville, VA is in the heart of VA’s wine country — numerous vineyards all around. Great restaurants to choose from in the area as well.
We will definitely make more trips to Mitchell’s Landing B&B!
