In every category there’s the worst… and then there’s the best. Circle C Construction is the worst. We contracted with this company to build a new bathroom, bedroom and wet bar. The contracted price was fair. The contract terms were also fair. Typical one-third down, one third in the middle and the balance at the end. Once we signed the contract and paid our third, the contractor/owner Doug Corwin completely disappeared for an entire week — no calls, no contact — nothing. The job started a week late with a very out of it(either stoned or drunk) contractor. Among the many, many bad things and code violations — No air return piped in for heat run to new room; burn marks on walls from torch soldering plumbing without protection to surrounding areas; Completely walling in the furnace room(solid wall, no door) with no access to service furnace or hot water systems; odd elbows and bends in the plumbing, affecting performance of both water coming in and sewer going out; bad tiling. One bright spot was a tile sub this guy initially brought in. However, when we complimented the sub for his fine work, he was immediately pulled from the site and the contractor finished the job, poorly, himself. Shortly after the second installment, the contractor came to us stating he had run out of money and needed more(for materials) to finish the job. He also charged us extra for materials to fix his own mistakes. Because we were seniors, he had us over a barrel and threatened to leave the job unfinished if we did not comply with he terms. Stay away from this business.
