Puppy Land

You would think if a new potential customer came in to check out the pricing and services offered you’d be a little more professional. Went in this afternoon to check it out and left not even 5 minutes after entering. We have a 7 month old German Shepherd — I wanted to check out their VIP package which was advertised at the front counter. Girl at the counter was very unprofessional, could barely understand what she was saying over her obnoxious gum chewing. She kept looking down at her cell phone while talking to me. When I asked if we could try the VIP, she told me that I more than likely wouldn’t be «accepted» because my dog is young and hyper. «Only well behaved dogs are accepted.» Excuse me? All pet owners know, when you bring your puppy somewhere new, they get excited. No thanks, I’ll take my money & pup else where.

I had an appointment at 8. I was sick all night and slept through my alarm. Apparently they have a 30 late fee of $ 10. I seriously doubt they started him right at the minute that I dropped him off and I’m sure they probably had other dogs to attend to before mine even got there. I doubt it takes 3 hours to cut and wash a 5lb Yorkie. As a business owner myself, I would have made every effort to call the client after they were 10 or 15 minutes late, but nope, they waited til after the 30 minute cut off to call. This is shady business practices and further confirms the other review mentioning greed. As convenient as it was to go to them, I’ll pay an additional $ 10 to have a mobile groomer come to my house. Not to mention they didnt do his eyes. Groomers out here are a dime a dozen so in order to stay in business, I would suggest keeping your customers happy.

After 3 years of going there I finally stopped due to the fact of price rises (greed), untrained staff, and hidden fees that magically appear when they want to! Last incident, took our dog and we’re on a so called special VIP deal which is $ 15 every two weeks, they raised the prices without telling us and so it became a not so VIP deal! They told us we owed $ 15 for missing an appointment, I told her well who owes us for when staff doesn’t show up on time, almost an hour late on many occasions. Unfair business practice, she tried to explain to me other grooming plans which were not any better and pretty much just as much as the oh so awesome VIP deal! From $ 15 twice a month to $ 20 something twice a month plus haircut more than $ 30. Taking a dog once a month with no SPECIAL VIP DEAL, comes out less! So where’s the deal? Was not going to pay $ 15.00 plus another $ 30 to 40 cuz I missed a so called scheduled appointment, they didn’t even call to confirm the day before like the usually do, she said that was a courtesy service, which is fine but if we are scheduled at 7 a.m. and no one shows up until 7:30 almost 8 o’clock then who’s going to pay for my time due to the fact that it was a scheduled appointment that they didn’t show up to! Let customers know there will be a $ 15 charge for not showing up to appointment don’t tell them whenever you feel like telling them, tell them in the beginning of the initial service! Called mobile groomers seem to be cheaper and they show up at your house! Puppy land will become a faint memory with the type of business ethics they display!

Horrible. They don’t follow directions and over charge misc fees. Came in to get nails and face trimmed. Came out with a $ 50 invoice. Don’t do it.

Im NEVER bringing my dog to this place !!! They are HORRIBLE !!! I was never told that my dog was naughty and miss behaved not only that i was told that he acted like a spoiled brat ?! When i picked him up he had both eyes full of blood and he was very sad for weeks. i called them and they said it was because of stress and that they called it cherry eye. I came back the following month because i was on the «VIP program» and asked the front desk if the amount was going to be $ 17, because it was only a bath. She said it was going to be $ 27 because there was a fee of $ 10 because he was a difficult dog last time. This people definitely don’t have the experience to be working with small dogs and plus you can tell they only do it for $$$ !! And if you decide to come here DONT you ever go to the girl with pink hair and piercings all over her face, she is horrible !!!

Puppy Land is walking distance from where I live so, when I was fresh to the Valley, I took my two dogs there for a nail trim. I was absolutely appalled at their manner of handling things. I waited a good 5 solid minutes to be waited on, as nobody was at the counter. Once I was seen, I went through far too much paperwork for a simple nail trim. Then my dogs were weighed and I was told my cost would be based on their weight. For. A. Nail. Trim. Now, I get doing this for standard grooming but for a nail trim? It was outrageous! I paid nearly $ 30 to trim their nails! It took them a grand total of 3 minutes to trim my dogs’ nails) I’ve always gotten compliments as to how well behaved my dogs are during nail trims and pride myself on it), so the longest time I spent there was filling out paperwork and weighing my dogs. But GETTING to the trim was annoying. It’s also annoying that nail trims are by weight when you spend equal amounts of time on other dogs. I ended up finding a private groomer through my neighbors who does it for $ 5/​dog, the way it should be.
Also, they sell puppies here and I’m not a fan of puppy selling, especially when they likely came from a puppy mill.

Only been there once, but they clipped my dogs nails for $ 7. I usually pay $ 10 at Petco, very friendly. My little dog who usually hates other people went with her without freaking out. Bonus points. I will take my dog back there in the future. Cheaper and closer.

Puppyland is so over priced! They nickel and dime you the whole way. Forget about rescheduling an appointment. Even if you are a VIP, they will kick you off of their discount grooming program for one cancellation. VIP must mean «very irritated person» to them. So you will have to pay full price again. And by the way, their discounted price is about the regular going rate. Just because you live out by Florance or Copper Basin, do not think that they are the only groomers. Try A Cut Above. They are super nice and do a much better job. And you don’t have to be a VIP to be treated as one. And they cost the same. I will not set foot in Puppyland again.
