I really like this place. Not just because we share the same name. It has a very nice calming ambiance. Gregory, the owner is very professional and offers customers refreshments (coffee, wine, water, tea) as they wait or get pedicures, which I think is a very nice touch. The pedicure chairs give you a back massage as you get your feet done which is great. It is always clean and the staff seems to take extensive hygienic measures to insure impeccable service. However, over the few years it has been open I think it is becoming quite popular. There is aaaalways a long wait. Every time I go there I’m there for a total of at least 3 hours. But this is really because the nail technicians really try to take their time and do a good job. They should order more staff to adjust for this problem. Hopefully more of the staff will be like Menzie. She really is the best one there. Some of the other technicians there do not do as good of a job or may over clip your cuticles. However, in general it is a great salon, offers great service, and has a rewards program that is very useful. I am a frequent client and will continue to be!

I literally can’t say anything bad about this place. The service is warm caring thoughtful inviting each and every time I come. I can’t honestly see myself going anywhere else after becoming a client here. Their attention to detail is incredible weather it’s for the simplest of manicures or pedicures or the more elaborate that they offer. They’re just really good people who make it their business to have you come back. It’s so great to see this level of service in our area instead of having to feel that you have to go to downtown Brooklyn or to the city in order to see real quality.

DO NOT GO HERE. I’d give it zero stars if I could. Don’t treat the community you serve as if they don’t know anything. I see their vision and I’ve been to plenty nail boutiques that have executed it properly but this business isn’t. E for effort though. So, I was told that i would be charged an extra 6 dollars for a opi infinte shine nail lacquer which is the same as regular nail polish just with a shinier finish. The cashier said it was gel polish that dries without UV light which is complete bullsh*t. If you don’t know what you’re talking about don’t talk. I didn’t even start the pedicure process before I started getting nickeled and dime’d. My first time visiting nail or hair salons I like to get the things I am most critical of done. Today was a pedicure. I wasn’t greeted. My sister and myself was stared at intensely before we just went to pick our polish. We just assumed it was a Queens thing… They’re weird in there and they speak about their customers in Spanish. I am telling ALL of the people I know not to visit based on poor customer and that whole $ 6 thing. «The customer may not always be right but the customer is always the CUSTOMER».

Best nail salon ever. Is like to have a Beverly hills salon in Queens. Love the staff. Love the décor. Love the service. Love it. Love it. Keep up guys. Hope you open more nail salons like this.

I really want to give this place a four or five star review. It’s gorgeous and clean inside, with a very chic, upscale feel. They carry my two favorite brands, Essie and OPI, and even have an electronic loyalty program.
However, I waited nearly an hour for someone to take me – there was only one person ahead of me. The technician was very sweet and talkative, and very patient after my daughter woke up and I kept having to stop the service to change diapers. However, she cut my cuticles and my toe bled for four or five days. My gel mani also didn’t last a week before it started to chip.
I’m planning to go back at least once, because I really want to love this place.

Grace Nails is brought to you by the good folks of the Dominican salon Impressions Hair Salon next door on Francis Lewis Blvd. Grace used to style my hair back in 2010. She was the weave slayer and could hair dress fabulously. Her husband Gregory is now doing another fabulous job running this posh nail salon.
I planned a nail date with my fellow Unilocaler Sasha. B and felt Grace was the perfect salon to kick off our evening of relaxation. The atmosphere was very calming with the changing dim LED lighting, aromatic eucalyptus and lavender. There was gospel music playing and it was for once QUIET and peaceful. We were even provided complimentary red wine!
Gregory greeted us and we picked our colors right away. Gregory was very welcoming and professional, however, our Nail technicians were not. They did not appear to want to provide the service or have a conversation. It was 5:45 p.m. and while I know they had a long day, we were the only 2 clients besides 1 other regular getting an acrylic service.
My pedicure was done well. I appreciated how the cuticle and nails were cut accurately. But what I didn’t appreciate was not being asked if I wanted callus remover or anything else relating to the pedicure. My tech was very quiet, taking phone calls, texting and clowning around with the other technician. After a while it took away from the experience. All in all, the quality of the job was well done. Luckily, after the pumice and pomegranate scrub I did not need callus remover. The towels were steaming hot and clean. That’s more than I can say for these local rinky dink salons.
I really like how sophisticated and modern this salon is and that is where they really score stars. The seats were comfortable and the service Gregory provided was exceptional. He went above and beyond as a manager. I usually pay $ 21 for a Mani Pedi at my home nail salon in Jamaica, so paying the $ 18 with the 15% Unilocal offer was pretty good for this experience.
I really wish they were open later. I saw 4 customers turned away at 6:30. We were informed they take their last client at 6. This business is very strict about punctuality and going home early VS making an extra dollar. LADIES! Come early or be turned away.
For a posh, relaxing ambiance it was worth it. I plan to visit again in the near future for the Happy Hour Special during the day and I pray that the ladies work on their professionalism and more appropriate client service skills.

Often times the word spa is overused so I’m always pleasantly surprised when I am given a spa like experience at a local salon. I was invited by Unilocal beauty Marissa M and after a long day it was the perfect way to catch up and unwind.
Location: The salon is right in the heart of Hollister where I grew up so it was nice to revisit my old neighborhood. It’s easily accessible by the 2, 77 and dollar cabs for those who commute publicly. It’s strategically located right next to a hair salon and beauty supply. Great way to grab potential clients. From what I understand Gregory the owner is married to Grace the lucky lady the slain was named after who also owns the hair salon next door.
Ambiance: Absolutely. The salon is beautifully decorated. It’s elegant, chic and soothing. A mild scent of peppermint and lemon emanates throughout. Furnishings appeared to have been carefully chosen and every piece is exquisite. Lights are dimly lit, the music is subtle so are the pieces throughout that brought me to draw the conclusion that Gregory was Christian/​saved and proud to share that. The towel pyramids add an extra touch and details come together to give this space a real high end feel. I love that there wasn’t a huge obnoxious tv blasting and bombarding the space and peace. I was taken away; happily so. Yes, Hollister has a a salon/​spa.
Service
Gregory is such a gentleman and so hands on. I love the way he carries himself and is involved with every area of the business. He was very welcoming, helped us to pick colors and offered us something to drink. Yes please, (wine)me up!
While Gregory gives me high end the staff, not so much. Zoila was great on the pedi. She took her time to clean up my feet and paid great attention to detail. She scrubbed with vigor and I had happy feet. My hands now that’s another story. I started off with Elizabeth. Elizabeth swears she doesn’t speak English but something tells me that’s just a way to stave off conversing so I am at her station for over an hr but we can’t build rapport. She shaped me nails how she wanted and began to paint them without cleaning them up. I had dried up crusts of gel base coat yet she began to apply polish so it was messy. I had pieces of skin hanging from almost all nails. At times she yanked on my skin with the clippers despite me saying ouch several times. I’m b gonna assume «ouch» is comprehensible in all languages. Como se dice ouch en espanol? She had to tend to another customer but she didn’t excuse herself, she just got up and sent over Mariella who quickly noticed my nails needed cleaning up and tended to them, much as gracias Mariella. The gel polish after 2 rounds of uv light were not dry, 3 times, 4 times. Yikes ! I was getting tired and frustrated.
Final recommendation: I say go but brush up on your Spanish prior to. Def have Zoila do the pedi and pray Elizabeth is not on the phone while you get your mani. Enjoy the ambiance, drink wine and choose a pretty color. Life is short to have boring nails.
Gregory, you’ve got something special here. Think about getting some more techs, some that are highly trained and professional and think about getting them at least a cute tshirt or smock to make things look more profession.

I’m a regular here and I understand some reviewers but from my experience, it is a great place to get your nails done. Gregory, the owner is ALWAYS POLITE & offers refreshments while you wait or when you get your nails done. It’s a bit pricey but it’s worth it! My nails always last long. I let Sophia do mines every time I go and zoyla does my pedicure. Comes out perfect EVERYTIME. Remember… It’s always about having patience because they try to take their time with each and every customer. And they don’t disrespect their customers despite the crap some people come with. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY THEY ARE CLEAN. AND GREGORY gives you a free pedicure for your birthday and/​or your special event. What nail salon in this world is cheap enough to allow that to happen? Haven’t seen one yet :)
You will get great nail service depending on who you have do your nails. Overall, be patient people and those who haven’t been here give them a chance. They are welcoming & will work with you. Trust me!

I don’t normally go to the nail salon so I decided to try one by my home. I love the interior of the place, sets the standard of what kind of service you will be getting. I got a mani/​pedi which was great and not at all pricey. I will be returning in the future.

I really want to like this place but I just can’t. It took 3 hours on a Monday for a fill in with gel mani/​pedi AND cost $ 85. Long service time, and pricey? Not a good combination. Granted, The atmosphere is very nice and clean. That is a plus. However spending 3 hours on my day off getting my nails done is just not going to fit in my schedule.

I came across this nail place on Unilocal and I’m honestly surprised with some of the negative reviews. First of, the place is extremely clean and welcoming. As soon as my girlfriends and I entered we were greeted by the owner who was very friendly. He offered us drinks with the choices of tea, coffee and even wine, my favorite. He informed us that there would be a fifteen minute wait which was fine since we were having our drinks. Now in terms of service, the employees are very friendly and professional. My manicure and pedicure were great! The tools used were clearly sanitized since they were wrapped individually for each client. They have a great selection of nail polishes and yes you will pay $ 3 – 5 more dollars for the overall services compared to other places in the area, but it’s TOTALLY worth it. The place honestly looks like a high end salon and you wouldn’t expect it in this area. I will def be going back!

I’m not one to give bad reviews but do not allow anyone in this shop besides Sophia to touch or even look at your nails. She is the only nail tech with skill. I just left the shop today to with an uneven and horribly polished nails after waiting for several hours to even get helped. I decided to allow one of the ladies to do my eyebrows as I waited for my nails to be done. I told her to simply clean up my eyebrows and even out the arch on both. After she finished it looked like she did nothing. I had to then walk her through how to shape an eyebrow. One hour and a half later, the nail tech was ready to do my fill-​in. She nipped me several times with the file and then attempted to cut my cuticle but she was so rough my nail is still in pain. This place is very close to home but the drive out to Long Island to my regular place is definitely worth it as I always leave satisfied. This place is hit or miss!

This nail salon has potential as well as there is room for improvement. Let me start from my beginning experience to end and include comparisons:
When I first walked in, I was confused as to who to approach because I wasn’t immediately greeted by staff. it was initially 10 seconds of awkwardness. Eventually I was greeted by someone, I told the staffer, that I needed a fill-​in and a pedicure. I was told to go pick out a color and after being fussy because I already had an idea of what color I wanted but… the background lighting made it a little difficult to really see the true polish color, I finally settled on a few bottles of O.P.I. because I figured I couldn’t go to wrong with the brand.
The awkwardness and a bit of confusion came in when I saw other people start their pedicures before mine (approximately 2) and everytime I looked up I saw that time was steadily passing and it dawned on me that there were not enough nail technicians or pedicure technicians and I just hoped I could get my services done in a certain period of time… Eventually I was called to be seated and saw there wasn’t a designated spot for my bag and coat (next visit I will leave my coat and bag in the car as there is parking directly outside) and I had to uncomfortably hold my bag and coat during my entire pedicure… My PEDICURE WAS EVERYTHING THOUGH! The scrub that they use, had my feet soft and shiny and they use it ALL OVER your foot and on your legs as well. my nails were painted to perfection, as they should since the O.P.I polish I ultimately chose was an additional $ 6.00 (it was considered a Luxe polish that doesn’t chip or dull and a week later, the polish has held up its end of the deal. Chip and dull free! In a nutshell, my pedicure felt great and I felt like the products used, were good quality.
My fill-​in was done by Menzy and although it was quick and I’m sure Menzy meant well, the UV gel polish appeared streaky after drying and my nails looked a little uneven. Nothing she did felt memorable. Maybe it was me and my quest for nail nirvana but I wasn’t totally taken away by the finished product and I love the color, but I have had better nail techs. Menzy has such a nice personality that I would come back to her from time to time, but I will go to my regular nail tech and look elsewhere as well. I also noticed that my nails looked like I needed another fill-​in after a few days, which indicated that Menzy filed my acrylic too far away from the cuticle.
In the end, I was a little irritated when I wanted to pay, because the prices are extremely high for the service and location, I really wanted to use my 15% off, being that my fill-​in was $ 27.00, with $ 15.00 UV gel applicatuon brought it up to $ 42.00 total. My pedicure was $ 15.00 and with an additional charge of $ 6.00 for luxe O.P.I. no chip polish brought it to $ 21.00 plus tax for a GRAND TOTAL OF $ 63.69… AND WITH TIP (I always tip $ 10 for my fingers and $ 5 for toes, wasn’t about to change for high prices here…) ended up being $ 78.69. Mind you, in most other urban areas, you will pay $ 50.00+ for the same thing and a tip… Well, the staffer wasn’t able to use my coupon because the owner never showed her how to use the register in combination with Unilocal and it didnt help that she didnt speak much English. She ended up calling the owner and after about 10 mins, I gave in and just paid the total with tip without a discount. and the owner came in right after and I explained my desire to use the discount and he told me he would allow me to still use my coupon on my next visit which made me feel slightly better…
In all, the need more nail techs with more precision, or just more employees in general and if they aren’t going to lower the prices, they should offer more promotional sales and discounts, and make an area for bags and shoes, maybe some straw baskets by your chair for comfort… I will return but I won’t be a regular with those prices.

MENZY IS THE BEST NAIL TECHNICIAN EVER. ok, so I’m very very picky about my nails. And in all my years of nyc living she did my nails the best. I told her I wanted the coffin shape but not too long and it was perfect. I mean she was so precise and paid so much attention to detail it was amazing. No lie. And she was really sweet which doesn’t hurt! The best nail experience I’ve Ever had. Ask for Menzy!

So I found this establishment on Unilocal.The reviews were fair. I decided to check them out on Sunday February 21,2015 and what a waste of my time. They only had one employee for pedicures/​nail fill ins and one employee to polish nails! There were 4 people in front of me! Tried to wait it out big got super frustrated! Also for some reason wifi does not work (which appears to be a repeated issue according to some reviews) while in this establishment so I would not be able to redeem my 15% coupon. Get it together Grace Nails and Spa!

Was looking for a nail salon and spotted this one on Unilocal with all the good reviews. My first impressions walking in is how nice the place looked. Very clean and welcoming compared to the area. However my nail experience wasn’t the same. A young hispanic woman did my nail. She was so rough with me to the point it was painful. When cutting my cuticles she actually made me bleed. thank goodness the utensils were right out the package. A definite plus, but the technician didn’t seem apologetic at all for cutting me which really annoyed me. She kept painting over my cut n touching it as if she didn’t previously injure me. I don’t usually interact with staff because I’m overall a quiet person however the technician didn’t seem too interested in her job anyways so that didn’t help. I would go back but not to her.

This place shines above the rest! Came in while my friend got her nails done and i was AMAZEd at the cleanliness of the salon, the service by the girls, and just the overall feel of the spa. My friend loved the amazing products they carried, and i was shocked that the workers offered me a cup of coffee or tea while i waited, and i wasn’t even getting anything done (although next time i will). After reading other reviews on here, yes the prices may be higher than the other places around but the difference is so clear!
They should open up more of these nail spas in queens!

I tried this place for the first time today and it was WONDERFUL!!! The place is very clean and the employees are very nice. They take their time and give you the best service possible. Their pedicures are AMAZING… They also have a rewards program. The more you go the better the benefits for you. I will absolutely be returning here.
