La Gata Golosa

Not a fan of this place. I have bought food and snacks and juices from here a couple of times and have always been disappointed. Their food is not fresh. Their fruit juices are okay but again nothing out of this world or even close. I will walk an extra 3 avenues and 5 street blocks to get my empanadas and other snacks offered here at mamas empanadas. I will only truly buy something here if I was starving and this was the only place open in a 1 mile radius and I was on foot. I am very big on freshness of food, no one likes stale breads, or stale maduros with cheese to the point the mozzarella cheese was yellowing on one side and hard. The only plus I can think of is that they are open 24 hours a day which is convenient for those looking for food or latin snacks at any time. Just know that it is basically settling for mediocre food and no freshness.

Horrible. Obnoxious waitresses, incredibly slow service, shitty food.
The only saving grace are the appetizers.
I ordered a breaded steak and a breaded pork chop for my mom but wow… Did it suck. The food was overcooked to the point of almost being burnt, the rice was undercooked, the salad wasnt fresh, and the sweet plantains were also undercooked.

Service slow and sucks,…the person in the counter talking in the kitchen in the meanwhile I was wait 10 min to be attended…

This Colombian bakery/​diner is dangerous because it’s open ²⁴⁄₇. You could go at any time and you’ll find chicarrones, pan de bono, empanadas, etc, and more likely than not, they’ll be warm since they make them at all times in the day.
The pan de bono, pan de queso, and bunuelos are excellent. They don’t have the rubbery consistency that they can get when they’ve been sitting around for too long, they are usually crispy on the outside and soft and yummy in the inside. The chicharron and empanadas are delicious and very affordable.
Better than anything else I’ve tasted here is the Guava and Cheese bread, I don’t know what the name of it is, but it is superb (specially when it’s warm).
I’m giving this place only 4 stars because I have not tried the actual diner part.
