The guys that came and moved me were great. I can’t fault them at all. Just be weary that although their website says no hidden costs there are. Suddenly it was an hour additional charge for the travel even though paying by the hour and charges for wardrobe boxes. I did complain and I got the boxes free and only ½ hr additions for travel time. It seems the people on the phone do not tell you all info needed. I would suggest a fixed price quote from them would be easier. Added stress on my day. As I say though, the three guys worked really hard.

ABSOLUTELYHORRIBLE!!! DONOTUSETHISMOVINGCOMPANY! My move was a nightmare. This is exactly what happened with no exaggeration whatsoever. My move was scheduled for 9:00AM on Saturday morning, the driver called me at 8:55AM to tell me his«truck didn’t start» so he could not move me. After telling him this was completely unacceptable he said maybe in a few hours he could come and that he needed to talk to his boss. He then stopped answering my calls back to him and I never heard from him again. I tried repeatedly to call the office number, which is actually just this guy Paul’s cell phone. He did not pick up for an hour and a half. He answered on the 5th try around 10:30am and told me he would try to get someone else to come. I requested a free hour since my move was pushed back over three hours to afternoon. They offered me only a 5% discount which was about $ 25 on a $ 500 move… After 12 the new moving company showed up and wanted no part of the discount, they repeatedly complained that they were not getting paid well for their work and they were exhausted from another move that morning like this was my fault. I had told Moving Astoria that some pieces might not fit in the elevator and was promised it would not be an additional charge to bring our couch up the stairs. The replacement movers demanded an additional $ 100 to bring the couch upstairs. They started yelling at me for refusing to pay and said they were leaving the couch in the lobby. I had to ask the movers to stop yelling at me and calm down while they were arguing points that I had clearly pre-negotiated with the company. The replacement movers gave me the number for Rudy who is in charge at Moving Astoria. He told me that I had to pay the movers to bring the couch up and it wasn’t his problem since it was actually someone else at Moving Astoria(Adrian) who made this deal with me. When I asked who is running the company Rudy said he was but he just kept saying that this was my problem, not his and that was that. This is not a legitimate moving company. No one takes any responsibility for anything, they are extremely unorganized, very rude, treat customers very poorly and when things go wrong they basically tell you to F off. These movers were LITERALLYYELLINGATME over the phone and in person. With so many other choices, there is NOREASONTOUSETHISCOMPANY. DONOTHIREMOVINGASTORIAMOVERS. There are many other choices that will not be a complete nightmare to work with. I will be happy to personally verify my account.
