New owner… New massage therapist… Horrible I basically had one lady massaging me while the other was yelling at her telling her what to do all in Chinese… Neither speak any English. I am so sad the original owner left. I hat to say anything negative about local businesses but at the end of the day I shouldn’t have been asked to pay a dime for that massage since I was basically a «student test» and the student failed horribly. The main lady was better but super super rough and generally I like it deep tissue but she was more like bones instead of tissue. Needless to say won’t be back. Will have to fine a new spot.

First out let me start out by saying that I’ve been getting massages ever since I was a kid in China. I’ve been going to massages all over New York City and have had really good experiences(that fine point of pleasure and pain with relief of stress afterwards) to really poor experiences(where masseuse has no idea what they’re doing). I speak Mandarin, so I usually have a conversation with the masseuse during or after the massage. In this case, the owner’s name is Jenny. She used to work in massage parlors in the city until she wanted to start her own business. This particular parlor isn’t very well known but it’s a decent place. I’d thought that being in between a fire station and a police station, where intense physical labor can be exerted, they’d be doing really well. But apparently none of the police officers or firemen come here, oh well. Hopefully this review will help with that. When you go in, the atmosphere is very nice and it’s set up well. This isn’t some Manhattan spa(so I wouldn’t be expecting that), but for a Chinese massage parlor, I’d say this one is one of the cleaner and well-set up ones. The music was very relaxing(as they all are). The masseuse was good. Not«excellent» — highly trained, knowing pressure points, knowing where the knots are and how to get them out. Not«bad» — really rushed, no effort, fast massage, zero technique. But good — she hit some good points, she didn’t know my knots as well as some trained ones would, but she had very relaxing hands and exerted really good effort and attention to my back. So overall I had a good experience there and would recommend this place to a friend. I think I paid around 40 bucks(tip included) for a 30 min massage. Anyone who doesn’t know massages very well would probably rate this massage a 4.5÷5, but since I know my stuff, I’d give this place a 3.75 out of 5.
